Just discovered Tull when I spent two years in the hospital with MS. I heard Aqualung in the 90's but never registered. All those years listening to bands like Metallica and Nirvana only to find out what true genius in music is. Great cover my Man! Mind blown
So how you feeling these days? I grew up listening to Jethro tull. Thick as a brick is one of my favorite albums. Besides many blues Days of Future past. How often can you find rock and roll with the London symphony orchestra combined. Music isn't what it used to be. So glad I grew up in the air that I did.
I was just graduating HS when the whole Tull Grammy thing happened. I was a big Tull fan already but had seen Metallica on their Ride the Lightning tour when I was 16 and was a massive fan, had already seen them like 3-4 times when they put out 'And Justice For All.' No one could believe Tull won that Grammy, but really, Tull's 'Crest of a Knave' album is very good, and they had always had a hard rock edge to them. I have no issue with them winning it in retrospect, even if at the time I freaked out. Tull > Metallica.
Great rendition! You take me back to my high school days in the 1970's when I was part of a group of close friends who were serious Jethro Tull fans. We even had a member who played Anderson's flute parts on a penny whistle - complete with leaping about on one leg! Happy days 🙂
Dude your guitar sounds amazing. The vocals are also amazing. Trying to figure out how you sing over what you play. You are a true talent. Beautiful job, beautiful song
This is brilliant, so well done and what a classic to learn, good on you. As a man now in his 70s, to hear this for the first time at 16 was life changing, musically, as all I wanted to do was to be able to play guitar. And I do, though not as good as you my friend. Thank you.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW! NOT an easy tune to cover, and J Tull have been one of my favourite bands since the 70's, but you absolutely smashed it. Kudos. Going to check out your other stuff now, and on the strength of THIS cover will subscribe. Regards Mark in the UK
Only a guy like yourself to cover a song by Eliot Smith, a fantastic musician and composer of whom I became a fan since the first time I heard one of his songs, but who unfortunately left us too soon. And your interpretation of Tick As A Brics was sublime, wonderful, congratulations. Grettings from Brazil.
Det vaere veldi bra!!!! Sorry, I assumed you were Norwegian Robert from the breathtaking scenery. Masterful playing & beautiful, faithful singing. And an electric current through the whole performance that gave me the chills. Tusen takk fur det!
I've heard the Carolyn oats version and the Billy strings version and this version is so much better well done dude! greetings from the California high desert.
Jethro Tull is a lifelong addiction for me. This is a damn good cover.

Tbf... Nirvana created a sub- gengre. But you're right, about the genius thing. I saw them twice in the 80's...
