Does anybody wonder why you don't see a lot of Jethro Tull cover bands out there? The primary reason, is the songs are really difficult to play well. This is an example of how to play Tull songs very well.
@@thomasbradleyproject5676 I am impressed by your musical talent. I will check out your other stuff. You deserve it. I know music. Jethro Tull songs are not AC/DC or Simple blues songs. You have to know what you are doing to play them.
The popular ones aren't really that difficult to play especially with the advent of tabs. Anyone with intermediate skills could and do play this. I think the reason is that for some reason Tull's popularity just doesn't translate into the masses that well. BTW this is not a criticism of the performance as I think it was well done. I would love to hear them tackle the end of the song and pick it up at where Ian starts to sing "Well you shuffle into the Courthouse.."
Speechless! Never thought I would witness such a perfect rendition of a Jethro Tull classic, which is more unexpected to come from these two young talented gentlemen. Thanks to the people who brought you up right. It's not easy to inspire the current generation with Jethro Tull songs. Sincere respect to you both. Don't stop, let us hear more.
Wow, thanks! your comment is so kind and means a lot to us! You may enjoy some of our new originals if you have any time to spare, they’re quite Tull inspired :)
Love the fact that a generation later(or maybe 2) that the musicality and totally unique vocal intonation is still appreciated. I can only guess that both of you had parents who were into great music and played it to you as you were growing up.
Great job guys!!! Your timing is perfect-- Its good to see our youth playing this iconic Tull song-- Martin Barre is a very underrated great guitarist, who directed, or tried to keep up with Ians flute playing!!!
I am 64 years old and a big fan of Jethro Tull since the early 70's and don't normally make comments but I couldn't resist to let you guys know how awesome this is....honestly!!! Would love to hear you do The Minstrel in the Gallery.
I've rarely happened upon a vocalist who slots into a Tull tune with an effortless natural feeling about it. Martin Skews is one such person. But you just breezed right through that like you'd written it yourself. Damn good to also see a couple of young groovers getting into the music of Jethro Tull. Top job, guys.
@thomasbradleyproject5676 You're welcome. The lyrics of Ian Anderson are a good study for any budding lyricist. I spent hours going over them back in the day when I first started writing. Looking forward to more vids.
My Lord, this performance made me smile ear to ear. You lads were flawless. My first of many dozens of Tull concerts began in 1970 , Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. I have credentials to give you both 5 ⭐️. Keep it going, don’t stop. Best of luck!
Thank God there's younger folks that love and appreciate the legends of the 60s and 70s. It really is timeless music. This is an outstanding cover. Great job guys
Very nice supprise to recognize the young folks pick up the heritage of that enigmatic groupe. Cheers to you all, my beloved compagnons of that long ago years . Thanks to you tube for helping the memory of that times. Long live Jethro Tull....
BRAVO!!! Outstanding gentlemen. In my opinion you didn’t try to sound like Tull but are very effective in putting your own spin on this classic. More please.
I just found this cover and it is hands-down, the best I've heard yet, and that's goes equally for instrumental and vocal performance. I can't believe this cover has only received 70K views.
Thanks Robert we really appreciate it, if you can be so kind as to check out some of our originals on the channel, I think they’d be up your street as a fellow Tull fan!
I have been listening to Jethro Tull from the beginning. I remember when "This Was" came out in 1968. This is the best cover I have ever heard. In.over. 50. years. The musicianship is top notch (you can't even get in the ballpark without that) and the vocals are superb. You captured the indefinable essence of JT, something I had not thought possible. Bravo.
When I saw this as two young lads on guitars attempting Jethro Tull I was all ready to hate it. I was oh so very wrong, totally enjoyed the clear singing and talented playing, well done to the pair of you.
Glad we got on your good side and land you enjoyed it mate! If you have time please check out our new originals, there a bit Tully and I think you’d enjoy!
Not too many people cover this song or this music because it is not easy, and it requires talent. You fellas have the talent, and the vocals are great. I was 13 y/o in 1972, and I fell in love with this one when it was a "hit", but it is so nice to see a new generation that appreciates this music. Well done.
Hello from north wales. I’m 66 now, been a Tull fan since I was 14 yrs old. Seen em all over the years, living an hour from Liverpool and Manchester. My 2 lads now in their early thirties, both have played bass In separate bands over the years. A nightmare for me being unpaid roadie! So I’ve seen a lot of open mike stuff as well. Your talent blew me away! I play a little as well, but Tull Is very intricate. Also one of my favourite tracks ever. Great work lads! Take care.

When i was growing up and hiking in the white mountains of New Hampshire. i could always here this song playing in my head. It is a song with no time boundaries. Your rendition echos the passion evoked by Jethro Tull, as we imagine ourselves once again in the realm of King George and the mysterious and thick black forest. Bravo!!
