I’m one of those people too. I just don’t do casual hookups. Not that that’s bad or anything, it’s just not how I do things. I prefer physical intimacy as a way to manifest existing emotional intimacy and to further it, because emotional intimacy (trust, respect, teamwork/problem solving skills, etc) is the thing that helps long lasting relationships thrive, and I tend to look more forward to the future. Again, this doesn’t mean that casual hookups are bad for other people, everyone has different preferences, it’s fine so long as people are being safe and it’s consensual, etc.

I’ve had 1 “hookup” in my life and I’m actually glad I had it since it confirmed everything I suspected about casual sex. The sex itself isn’t very good. Even if the guy’s attractive and the sexual chemistry’s hot. A lot of men overrate their capabilities. There’s little motivation to genuinely want to pleasure each other or connect emotionally since you’re basically using each other as a living masturbatory aid. The “heat” is more from anticipation and perhaps the excitement related to risk.
You’re NEVER going to be sorry you DID NOT have sex with someone you barely know or don’t know at all or aren’t interested in as a relationship partner. It’s not a life changing event and if it is it’s usually for the worse (risk of disease, unplanned pregnancy, possible abuse or murder if the man’s a deviant).
Casual sex is the equivalent of wading knee deep in a warm, luxurious jacuzzi.
From a female perspective I agree hundred percent, there is little to no gain for women in casual sex.
That's why you establish a friend with benefits relationship with someone and actually communicate with them the things that you like and get you off. So you end up not having this problem.
Too many women want to blame men for just sucking in bed when the fact is all women are different and not enough of you communicate like men do.

I am of the belief that casual sex can involve a physical and emotional connection between people, without any unhealthy possessiveness or jealousy involved! :) My boyfriend/partner and I have the most loving and affectionate relationship. He is my best friend! And we also have an open relationship, meaning we meet up and have casual sex with people outside our relationship. I enjoy hearing about his crazy adventures when he comes home. And anytime an evening out goes lousy for me, I know he'll be here to hold me and accept me for all that I am. I don't have to hold myself back from anything in this relationship, and as far as I can see it is the most holy, Godlike version of True Love there is.

Very few people are consciously engaged enough with their heart, mind and emotions to know whether they really genuinely just want sex and no connection (I don't get these people and I would never consider a partner that thought like that). People who DO have one-night stands DO need to be honest and upfront about what they can't be to someone and make the encounter about the other person, not just them. Otherwise the person is just being used like a warmed-up sex toy, and that's no fun.

A very important indicator are their ears, for example they show interest, being relaxed, stressed or angry. All that is shown just by the movement of their ears. The eyes tell you also much. Cats only watch in each other's eyes in a case of conflict. So if a cat is doing that to you, you most likely did something wrong and you should brace yourself for an upcoming attack. But they also smile with their eyes, if they blink slowly and for a long time they actually smile. It looks like they might be sleepy, but it means they are ok with you and accept you. There is many more to know. Cat communication is purely body language, the meow they use is a little compromise they adopted for humans, because we use so many sounds in our communication.

You know what is weird in the world? I am a man, and like you, I crave emotional connections. After a while I basically gave up dating, because everyone is wearing a mask and NO ONE wears their emotions on their sleeves.. ... unless those emotions are anger, insecurity, (insert bad quality here). Yeah, one night stands were fun, when I was like 20, but today I want more. Sex without emotion doesn't feel as good, there is no desire to actually 'learn' the other person, and once we part, the void remains... As a guy, I can say that... Plus the increasing cynicism of the world seems to taint the experience even more to the point where the heart and mind feel so much conflict that the only resolution is selfish indifference.
