Always love to see the kitbash videos from you guys, especially when it's Nurgle AND Killteam. My absolute favourite is that unit champion who's armour has just exploded as his mass has pushed out. Great work!
Correct me if I’m wrong but your from New Zealand right? If that’s the case, seeing a kill team game between you and Dave when Covid is done would be awesome. Would love to see your Raptors win the day.
Nurgle are just perfect for conversions and experiments, they are some of the most fun minis in the Warhammer range imo! And that goes for the painting side of things too, even if you make a mistake or it's a bit rough, you can make it work, just as Nurgle intended haha. Lovely job on the minis, very cool turnout!
Dave was channeling his inner Nurgle cultist here and it was actually pretty enthralling to see someone with so much experience and passion for my grandpa's gifts make him so proud. Also, pustulent fleshhole-fill sounds like a truly unholy union of Nurgle-slaanesh.
I really like customizing miniatures like slapping green stuff on nurgles, picking random bits and joining them together, just making a yellow space marine, metalic necrons. And I also like making bases out of green stuff and stones and stuff.
"Greenstuff" even sounds Nurgly 😂🤢🤮 Those are some cool conversion. I especially like the way that the Sergeant's base adds to the sense that he is swaying and sagging.
11:05 so I know this may not be possible for folks with bigger hands than me or shaky hands, etc., etc., but one thing I've found that works absolutely wonderfully at least in the case of nurgle, is using polymer clay to roll the teensiest, tiniest little balls of clay (I use sculpey premo) and baking them. Then they can be pushed into soft milliput, green stuff, pva, etc., (or soft polymer clay if you're scratch-sculpting something) and will stay there. That being said, I am an AFAB with very small little baby hands lmao so I understand if not everyone can roll half-millimetre tiny specks of polyclay. But if you have little hands, or someone around you with little hands -- or the patience to use tools under something magnifying, I guess haha, seriously pre-baked boils of polymer clay to push into a soft sculpted surface are *AMAZING.*
When doing bloated and distended flesh, you should try and add orange peel effect on the bottom. Also make it appear tight. That flesh is the bottom of the fluid "sack" of the flesh. It also will have small pimplish things things there. Not really boils but pimples full of the the fluid. Also it will be bluish skin color with red blotches. The pimples are almost translucent. Also pores will be wider.
Don't forget, with kill team now you can run a 3 plague marines and 8 cultists as a kill team. Chaos marines get the advantage of 2 fire teams in 1 kill team. Love to see some Nurgle faction cultists.
Loved this...kit-bashing models is something I haven't jumped into yet, and this was a great demonstration of just what you can achieve! And a quick well done (to the editor I assume) for the fly effects!
As someone who wants to get into mini painting and terrain building. What would I need to start and what would be good to get in future once I get better. Could you maybe make a video about this?
I must say; this heresy disgusts me. However! The draw on conversions does have me curious of Nurgle's blessings. Beautiful models Dave! Love them so much! The God-emperor might have to be put on the back burner for these conversions
When should I use miliput over greenstuff? Also from a viewers perspective, it was worth pouring water on your hair Dave. I loved the acting and it was a great video.
Their different consistency lends itself for different jobs. Miliput is great for filling up holes and groves as you can smush it in a lot easier, like wood kit or something, and giving it a smooth texture is easier. Meanwhile, green stuff is stickier, more like a chewing gum than crumbly kit and lends itself more to those small details and stays better together until drying. My tip, just get different things to try yourself! Even if you won T use it for models, you can still use a lot of this for cool custom bases or just household repairs. (I like to make stones for bases with left overs, miliput crumbles a bit when cut, making great stone edges)
good work here with these. DO NOT SPREAD THE PESTILENCE! IT HAS SPREAD FAR ENOUGH AS IT IS! IF IT IS SPREAD TOO MUCH MORE WE WON'T BE ABLE TO HAVE IN PERSON GAMES WITH OUR FRIENDS THIS YEAR
I've always loved some of the aesthetics of nurgle marine (spiky heads, chonky armor, big rusty cleavers) but I've never been a fan of the type of corruption they tend to get, with the tentacles, pot bellies and drooping innards. It's always so frustrating because you'll get maybe a couple models that I really enjoy in a box and the rest are a bit too ridiculous for my tastes. I always get told to just convert them but removing huge distended bellies and tentacles running everywhere is not an easy task. I really like most of the team you built, but the sargeant is one of those taking it too far that I don't like. Still great job on the sculpting.
Riding a line there Table Top Time. Making a video like that with what is going on there in Australia. However, timing is perfect for Nurgle, you know with the pandemic going on.
Mr Dave, what plastic glue do you use? I tried to perform a repair on an underworlds model within some Tamiya 87038 Extra Thin Cement Glue and it just smelled funny and didn't adhere to anything.

Some mosquito themed nurgel conversions would be cool considering the rolle of mosquitos in spreading diseases, anyway great video.
Thank you for this idea that was a fuckin brain blast moment

Dave you need to finish your clean nurgle army and show it to people and see how uncomfortable they get lol

When you mentioned the armor clinging on I immediately imagined the flesh fused with the metal which is very cool
"Greenstuff" even sounds Nurgly 😂🤢🤮

I bet they'd just call it "stuff"

I love Nurgles so cute … Dave you did them well. Very Talented
Fascinating watching you choose seemingly random bits, gluing them together and ending up with such interesting characters!
Looks great. May the algorithm bless you keep up the wonderful work
Your converting and sculpting is really nice, I wouldn't mind seeing more of these kinds of video's (not just nurgle themed)
That was fun to watch, more conversion videos please. The narration highlights the journey you went on well.

"Glormak. The Emracer."

Literally like how nurgle makes his death guard
My conversion process is kinda chaotic.
Mostly because it's all based on random flashes of inspiration,
which leave me just as quickly as they came.
It makes me sad that deamons didnt get anything new in kill team, cant wait to play the same list in the previous edition.
"Don't be yuck" -- great advice Dave, and great sculpting too!!
Dave, how do you decide what details need milliput and which need greenstuff? Why not use one of them for everything?
