Some great plot twists you missed:
- The cured Joker we encounter was really Clayface (Batman Arkham City)
- Everything with the Faro Plague & Project Zero Dawn (Horizon Zero Dawn)
- Ichiban is Arakawa’s biological son (Yakuza Like a Dragon)
- Kuroiwa is the Mole (Judgment)
- Viktor Reznov never actually escaped (Call of Duty Black Ops)

What’s revealed about Faro there is absolutely insane, and it made me hate him even more.
We couldn't really include Arkham Knight's identity reveal because we all knew that it was Jason Todd. We also couldn't include Harry Osborne becoming Venom because we all knew that that was going to happen
One being a similar to Under the Red Hood and the other being Ultimate Spider Man Inspiration.
Pretty much.....awesome games though
Arkham Knight is an alright game
The graphics and gameplay
Combat is very smooth
It’s just that they went too much with tank shooting sections
Still Arkham Knight in my opinion fells like satisfying and true ending for Arkham Batman
As for Venom in Marvel Spiderman 2 even if it wasn’t Eddie Brock they made Venom like how he should have been in Sam Raimi Spiderman 3

It was insane. The whole time I was waiting for some kind of reveal that Tyr was somehow Kratos (Reddit theories got me)

@@Stormfather_xI thought Kratos was going to become Surt after absorbing his dead wifes Frost heart or some shit. Instead the ending kinda sucked. Heimdall was a better villain than Odin.

I know many would disagree with me but the reveal Scott Shelby was the Origami Killer in Heavy Rain was a great twist. I didn’t see it coming first time I played it.
Same. I did like how it re-contextualizes everything he does on a second playthrough. This was one of my favourite twists ever.
The issue is that even though it's shocking. It makes his actions during the game make way less sense. Things start to fall apart

Infamous: Kessler was married to Trish in the original timeline, but the Cole we play as never got to marry her.
For me it was bode in jedi survivor. That was on par with Odin for real. He was such a good friend in the game lol
I had the Tyr is Odin plot twist spoiled for me by a TH-cam thumbnail. I was looking up a guide for all the ravens locations.
Knowing who Odin is. I wasn’t completely shocked.
Welp, play the game first next time, save end game activities for the end of the game. Maybe you'd even have found the ravens on your own by that time

I got it spoiled because some guy on Facebook wrote it in the comments section of an advertisement of the game. It was a few days before it got even released.
Not including the joker’s plot in Arkham city is criminal. Heck the whole plot twist if you ask me

Kefka killing Gestahl and tearing the world apart in Final Fantasy 6 should be on this list. That plot twist changed EVERYTHING, including the shape of the world. Kefka won, and the entire planet lived under his rule for a full year.
That’s not necessarily a plot twist. We all knew what he wanted to do. Sure, didn’t think he would succeed, but still. Plus, I think they were limiting themselves to one entry per franchise, and you can’t do this list without Aerith
@timcasey8314 I can certainly respect that viewpoint, but for me, FF6's twist is more impactful in terms of scope. Aerith's death was tragic, but the story more or less stayed on course.
After Kefka did what he did, EVERYTHING changed, including the face of the entire world. For a full year, Kefka had WON. It would be like if Meteor struck sooner than expected, re-arranging the Planet's continents, and the player takes control of Tifa after a year-long coma.
Outer Wilds has a nice one too. Sort of. Realizing there's nothing to be done to save the Hearthians, cause the Nomai had nothing to do with it to begin with, is kinda heart shattering. An excellent french ytber said a great quote about it : "The game's not about saving the world. It's about accepting the ending."
Good list, but the twist in Dead Space; both the original and 2023, was amazing and the twist about Kasumi in Persona 5 Royal floored me. I thought the twist ending in Stellar Blade was good as well.
As someone who absolutely loves Raiden as a character, I am kind of surprised that they included his inclusion in MGS2 as the main character instead of the Boss’ “betrayal” in Snake Eater.
Raiden wasn’t even the biggest plot twist of that game.
That story is just bonkers (in a good way)

I remember not being shocked that Sheik was Zelda and it was nice that the Player's Guide never spoiled it too. My initial reaction was, "Oh okay . . cool." lol.
Black Ops 1 deserves the top spot and it ain’t even close.
Aerith’s theme was more part of a plot rather than a plot twist, cloud’s unreliable narration and Tifa’s silence about it was the real plot twist of ff7

@@krvgames9258 I’ve obviously seen the commercial, literally no one was asking for a play-by-play 🤣 STILL not that straightforward, but you’ll learn soon enough the meaning behind “hindsight is 20/20”. Not to mention that particular moment does nothing to sway from the impact of how she died, as well as the context surrounding when she died during the actual game.

BioShock Infinite Comstock reveal deserved to be on this list for me.
I am surprised Odin as Tyr is that high on the list. Not only did I think they used the same voice actor (never checked if they did), but they dropped so, so, so many hints.
Hopefully master miller from mgs is on here. I can’t remember being super surprised back then since there was no way for me to be spoiled.

Not a twist at all, though. It is known fairly early that once you wake up the wind fish, the island will vanish.

Big Smoke/Ryder or Lance's betrayals
Odio’s Reveal (Live A Live) should have been mentioned. The big twist is that every chapter in a seeming anthology is all interconnected by what is basically a prototype to Xehanort.
For 1994, this was a massively shocking twist.
I figured Odin was Tyr from the start. Odin is notorious as a smarmy schemer and we conveniently find Tyr right after Odin tries and fails to con and intimidate the group. But Brock’s death was still a surprise.
Also brok mentions something that was suspicious about what "tyr" was cooking. Tyr had vegtables. (In case youre wondering why thsts so important: only asgard had vegtables as the other realms weren't able to be acessed yet, unable to make plants needed or too dangerous to get them so odin smuggled in food from asgard and turned into tyr once he returns.
I liked the plot twist of Gunvolt Cronicles LAiX. During the two phases of the final boss, you (the player) find out, that the protagonist, Copen, turned himself into a cyborg. And on top of that, they explain the Game is placed 100 years after the bad end of Azure Striker Gunvolt.
I mean come on could there be anything else apart from Bioshocks's "Would you kindly" twist. It was so good and unexpected its become a legendary twist. No game has been able to come up with a twist anywhere near as good as it and its highly likely they wont ever get close. It was just that good

Well, at least FFVII's plot twist made it in as far as JRPGs goes since plot twists are pretty common in those types of games. Here's other spoilers I think of (spoilers below for Danganronpa franchise, Kingdom Hearts 3, Tales of Symphonia, 13 Sentinels, Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice, and the OG Metroid)-
Danganronpa 1- This game is chalk full of plot twists but the biggest for me was how 2 years had past in between Makoto arriving at Hope's Peak to when he woke up after passing out and that the world had ended too.
DR2- Hajime being the Mastermind of the game.
DRV3- Everything is 'fictional'.
Kingdom Hearts- Another franchise with plenty of plot twists, but the one that still shocked me the most (so far)- was learning that Xigbar was actually Luxu.
Tales of Symphonia- Learning that Kratos is Llyod's biological father.
13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim- The entire game takes place in a simulation on spaceship and earth is gone.
AA: Spirit of Justice- Durke is already dead when the final chapter starts.
Metroid- The OG plot twist if you ask me- Samus is a girl.
What about Jade Empire? Master Li turning out to have betrayed you straight from the beginning and taught you a martial style with a weakness only he could exploit.
my favorite kind of plot-twist, is Chip's real name is LightGaia(who is the opposite of DarkGaia)! its from "Sonic Unleashed"!

Guys what about the time travel reveal in Dark Souls 3?! Like that was so unexpected. Sure we'd travel through time in the previous games but it was a shock that we were back in the past the whole time.
I’m so sick and tired of ppl saying rhat the plot twist in MGS2 was playing as Raiden. I’m sure it was a shock at the time, but far and away the biggest twist was that everything was a lie. Saying the plot twist is Raiden is grossly underselling the game

When Tyr killed Brok, my ex told me my daughter(who was 18 at the time) went into her room crying at 3am saying "Odin killed Brok mom." She turned it off and couldn't play for a few days.

Throuought the game, Rindo had a friend he talked to online named Swallow who he talked to in the reaper’s game.
It turned out that his friend was in the game as a reaper named Shoka
when PewDiePie relayed he *had* to play as Abby in TheLastOfUs2

Also why are you mentioning the twist itself in the headline for the game you’ll talk about? Just say the name of the game and continue talking about it. For Ragnarok, I was thinking more of Sindri’s secret about what he did, having part of Brok’s soul lost in Helheim. This led to severe consequences, and it’s why the 2 dwarves were shunned in the first place.
