I've never seen the birds like this before. It reminds me of a scene from The Day After Tomorrow when all the birds come in off the water. It's funny that you keep saying how dark it is. Remember broham, partially freeze your meats before grinding for better texture. Also grinding in your spices really gets the flavor in there. Keep kicking ass. Restructured jerky can be made by putting the seasoned meat on a piece f parchment paper, top with another sheet and roll it out. Can spray the sheets with pam for easier peeling off the meat. Once rolled out press grooves to make strips as wide as you want. slide into dehydrator on the parchment paper(it takes a little longer to dry than on a screen)
Don’t worry about the mallards. They are starting to come down from North Dakota big snow storm just hit ND. Plus your pond is deep enough it won’t freeze till late late season

@FLAIR hey there bud, I talked to my dads neighbour he said when you do the restructured ones make them thicker, he said make it thick like 3x thick because it dehydrates. He stacks his 3 high and puts them in the fridge for 30 mins to adhere to eachother then puts them in the dehydrator, he stated you might like that better. Hope it works for you.

Sup Andrew, great hunt and variety, jerky great idea, no complaints lol, BUT don't soak the meat, rinse it well and remove pellets.. otherwise just go buy beef jerky, good thing about how you seasoned it is great, tasting the meat you will know what seasoning works best with each, I know speck is best teriyaki and hot pepper flakes, example..tyvm tc

I always used ez or a command to soft mouth whether it be retrieving or extras. Had a world-class akc kennel with labs that only had pedigrees. Wish i would have hunted more birds. Ive always been a deer/turkey and few select others that id even run my dogs for. Wish i would have never stopped. Had english labs as well as American and even a few silvers that bird hunted and even have 1 that titled as a silver when akc required most to be registered as chocolate but we broke the hold on them not accepting them after spending thousands on blood work/dna testing. Great content as always brotha
Would you consider getting an army surplus tent? That way you could have plenty of room for an over night stay. I'd love to try and win the ATV or the Googan truck, but I live on the wrong side of the planet :( It's good to see Lucy learning about 'gentle'. I had to teach all of my dogs that, especially with my kids and now grandkids being around them all of the time. I usually have mastiff breeds so it comes in handy.
If your not using a salt to cure the meat make sure its heated properly during dehydration and vacuum seal then freeze it quickly after. Its only good for a few days without cure.

Tip on jerky, grind the meat up into burger and get a jerky squeeze gun, you get nice consistent pieces
