That's why I love 24 so much. 22 and a few others give you a really cool effect where you can change two notes of a triad and sustain one and you stay consonant. 31 is something like "if one goes up one step the others go down two steps" (I think it's that way around)

Yeah! Group theory is a part of a branch of math called abstract algebra, which I think of as ‘meta math’. It’s kind of like the math you use to get at why math works. In 24 equal, you can get within 19 cents of a 7/4. Better than the 31 cents difference of 12 equal at least. Scala: equal 24 set tolerance 0.756 show location 7/4
We don't really feel that 950 cents sounds like a harmonic 7th, even though mathematically you are absolutely correct, that's why we left it out of the intro :)
