In 1969 I was 15 years old and lived in North Carolina. My cousin who was 18 at the time and I hitched hiked to Woodstock. We got a ride in Virginia with two couples who was headed there anyway So we road with them the whole way there. I grew up a lot on that trip, done a lot of things I never had even dreamed of, but to this day it's one of the best memories I have. Thank you for taking me back!

Admitting a lot of my age here...yep I was there, and to be honest my memory is pretty hazy as I was a 20 year old sailor at the time and I was pretty (ok VERY) drunk for most of the festival. There were a lot of great performers there. and one became a personal friend over the years Richie Havens look him up I have a photo of him holding my 3 year old daughter. I've never been back. Oddly enough I did no drugs while I was there (or even since then) but a bottle of 101 proof wild turkey kept me rocking for most of the festival. Joan Baez, Country Joe and the Fish, Santana, Canned Heat, John Sebastian,. Jefferson airplane, Sly and the Family Stone Crosby Stills Nash and Young were there, and Arlo Guthrie among others. Thanks you two for giving me a flashback to a LOOONG time ago!

OMG! I was driving through town and I thought I saw Jimmy, but told myself I was being silly. It was you guys! I am glad you enjoyed Woodstock. It has changed a lot over the years, but its still pretty cool. &Don't feel bad, that hike is killer! You can look up original pics of the Overlook Mountain House, its kinda stunning. It burned down in the 1800 (if I remember correct) I've lived in the area my whole life, I wasn't alive for the first Woodstock, but I lived less than two miles from the second one in 1994. I was 17, and that was one of the craziest weekend of my life! Very cool to see you guys enjoying NY.

Great video! You guys are awesome!! My husband was one of those hippies, lol, and attended Woodstock all three days. It was so muddy that his shoes got sucked into the mud and he went home batefoot. He drove from NC to NY in a 1960 VW bug, and what he remembers of it - he had a blast!! ☮️ Thanks for all the hard work and effort you put into your channel. Much appreciated and enjoyed! 😊

My wife and I started watching your videos 2 months ago and finally caught up today!
I was originally searching for Lectric reviews (we bought 4 bikes for us and the in-laws) and your Grand Canyon video popped up. When Jimmy said “we’re gonna head back home and put the bikes in the garage” then proceeded to put them in the back of a green bus…I HAD to know what the heck was going on!
Now my wife is wanting to build out a skoolie because of you two! We had no idea there was such a thing but loved watching and learning from you both and so much enjoy seeing you on this journey. If you’re ever coming through Birmingham, Alabama again please stop and let’s grab a meal!

I graduated from high school in 1969. I fell in love with the music from woodstock, CCR is one of my favorites. I was a pretty conservative kid, but I did identify with the hippy (anti-war) movement of the day. I wish I had went to Woodstock, it was a cultural milestone. I had many classmates who ended up in the military and in Viet Nam, several died. It was a sad situation.

I was being inducted into the army a month prior to Woodstock. I do remember a small advertisement for the concert stapled to a telephone pole near my home and wishing I could go. Several years after arriving home though, I did get to meet John Lennon in Philidelphia in 1975. Got his autograph and was honored to be a target of his wittiness. Better than Woodstock and a bit less muddy. You looked great in the JL sunglasses, Natalie!

Jimi Hendrix did not want any band to play after him, and it was in his contract that he was the grand finale. Problem was there was a lot of rain delays, so by the time he played on Monday, most people were gone by then. Definitely a groovy time was had by all.✌️☮️

Judging by the dirt floor that "basement" could have been a root cellar where food for the guests were stored. IF there was a fireplace somewhere they could have cooked the food and sent it up a "food elevator" of sorts to the dining room.

I worked with a guy in South America who went to the 1969 festival. I think he was wearing Jimmy's shirt at work 😂

Great video! I didn't go to Woodstock, but I had a close friend who did. And it changed him in many ways. For one, he turned into a pothead at least for a short time. I was a rising college senior at a southern university that summer. I wasn't a big fan of "psychedelic" music at the time, but Woodstock really changed that.

Love the hippie chick glasses! Tomorrow I will rattle off other groups at that concert, like Jefferson Airplane, Joe Cocker, Country Joe McDonald, Canned Heat, CSNY and more....stay tuned. Oh wait, you ever hear of Wavy Gravy, he and his followers were there.

I didn't go to Woodstock myself, but a few years later in my life I met and became close friends with another young woman a few years older than me who had gone to Woodstock when she was 17 years old. She had been living in New Jersey at the time, in foster care, and hitch-hiked to the concert. While at Woodstock, she hung around the back stage area and meet a lot of the artists that performed there, also meet a lot of folks in "wanna be" bands that were hanging out in the back stage area hoping for a chance to perform. Among the artists she met were a couple of members of what would later become The Allmans Brothers Band and given she was semi-homeless at the time, they invited her to come back to Georgia with them after the concert was over. She accepted and ended up living in the same house as Duane and Greg Allman, as well as other members of the band. She was living with them while they were recording their first album. Unfortunately, she also started using heroin while she lived there, a problem that affected various members of the band off and on for many years, as it also affected my friend off and on for many years. During the years we were friends, she was clean (not using), but as time drew our lives apart from each other, I heard she had begun using again. I don' know what ever happened with her, we lost contact decades ago, as happens in life. But I have to say, she had some great stories to tell...

1969 I was 23, in the Air Force in Florida a bunch of us were going to Woodstock--a few people did go, had a ball--my wife and I were hours away from leaving when she became violently ill--we didn't know at the time she was pregnant with our daughter--so we were close but no cigar!
