I had a guy park right in front of my van on a city street. He went to sleep in his car. And I thought, "Oh cool. Another traveler is spending the night with me". At 3:00 AM, this guy tried to open the back door of my van while I was sleeping. I yelled at him and he took off back to his car and drove away. It goes to show you that not everyone in vanlife or carlife can be trusted.
I have helped several Nomads with projects and repairs. Some of them have been real lunnies. I retired with good income, so have never charged people labor, and I have usually bought the supplies, (Once in a while they have had the part they needed). There is a saying , No good deed shall go unpunished. I have to remind myself that I help people not because of who they are, but because of who I am.

@@stanbyme7874 If you give someone something with an expectation of getting something in return, it is not a gift. It is a bribe. If I help someone and even get a thank you, it is a pleasant surprise.
This was what I was told growing up. Same with loaning something- if you can't afford to lose it, don't loan it. Consider whatever it is as a gift and see it as a bonus if it's returned.

7:46 I think I have an idea which TH-camr you're talking about based on your description of her. She's from Quebec, used to have a Dodge Sprinter and now drives a white Dodge Grand Caravan with her 3 cats. She was also featured on one of Vancity Vanlife's van tours.
Some of her video titles are a bit click baity so I'm not surprised that she asked you to be click bait since she also used Vancity Vanlife as click bait in one of her videos.

I’m glad that Frank’s check up was mostly good, and that he’s feeling well and enjoying his chariot life. Watching him wiggle on his back made me smile. We have a young, mostly healthy dog at the moment, but I miss the precious, tender, and bittersweet senior years with our cattle dog mix Lulu. She was my everything, just two months shy of her 16th birthday when we lost her. I’m glad you’re showing the world how it’s possible to give an aging dog a fantastic life. ❤🐾

Amanda, I have to say that Frank is THE luckiest dog. He is so loved, and so peaceful and happy.
As well, I am sorry you were bothered by that woman. I am on the road, and though I am one of the good and decent ones, I am always aware of who I am speaking to, and kind of keep to myself unless my trusty intuition tells me I'm safe to engage a new individual or circumstance.
I have been called paranoid by people who are close to me, but I don't see it that way. Firstly, it is very far from the truth; and secondly I feel it is good practice to hold your hand close until you feel safe.
We are all just people, and many are decent and honest. Unfortunately there are some who think of absolutely nothing but themselves, and have no empathy or sense of boundaries.

Frank is loving his chariot. What a comfy bed for it. He looks as happy as he could possibly be. Seeing him want to get in it and get it himself was so precious . I love the camera, so we see his perspective. That campground was so lush and did seem so quiet and chill. That was a great decision. Im thankful his test results were all good. I have watched a few of your videos, and appreciate your down to earth nature. And love that you are giving Frank his best life, the same that he has done for you. Animals add so much to our lives.
I am pretty sure I know who the woman is you had the encounter with. You relayed the story in such a classy way. When I have seen that woman's videos, she seems to blame all of her unhappiness on toxic people in her life. To me it was obvious that she was the toxic person. Nobody can be surrounded by that many toxic people.

THANK YOU for this video! I've been on the road for 4 years and you are SO right that not all vanlifers are nice. I've met all kinds of people during my travels and sadly, a lot of them are exactly as you described. I keep note of their vehicles and or number plates if they have a standard white van and stay away from them. I've had to leave many park ups after seeing them already there or seeing them pull up. The biggest perk of vanlife is if you don't like your neighbours, you can easily leave 🙂Stay safe and I look forward to your next video

I love Chariot cam and I am happy to learn also from your valuable lessons about people in which you have things in common. I am always slow to trust people, it takes about a year to learn really what they are about. People have many layers and they are not always what you see as there is a lot of stuff behind the scenes.
