- We’ve found the perfect mix of city and nature, a colorful capital city in the Austrian Alps. If you’re new here, we’re Jimmy and Natalie, an American couple backpacking through Europe. And up until now, we’ve visited beautiful and historic cities, but we haven’t been on a hike in months. This week, that all changes as we’re shifting focus to include some of the incredible nature Central Europe has to offer, starting with a place where city and nature are perfectly balanced - Innsbruck, Austria.

Swarovski was one of the neatest places we visited when we were stationed in Germany many years ago (before you two were born 😉) I used to collect the little pieces shaped like animals…back then they were very inexpensive😊
This is my Mom’s hometown!! It is where my parents met and got married. I’ve been able to visit a number of times. The hiking is amazing.
It was so cool seeing your train trip!! I’m saving my first train trip for Scotland and taking a sleeper train!! I can’t wait!! I’m excited to check out different types of train trips!!

We traveled through Austria 20 years ago, Innsbruck was beautiful. Your visit through Swaroski brought back beautiful memories of Mary and I drooling over the tiaras. I eventually got mine but Mary wore it in her wedding 😊
So fun. I've been there, but forgot, can you believe that. It was a pass through city for me, but you guys really and truly brought it to life for me! It brought back all of those "got 15 minutes left" kind of mad dashes back to transportation. Thanks, thoroughly enjoying you guys and wishing I had someone like either of you, to keep me organised and less "spontaneous" when touring. Terrific!
Wiener schnitzel is veal it’s mild tasting like chicken because it’s milk fed sometimes with just grass.
You guys did a great job of showing why the trains in Europe are so much fun. If not this trip, I hope you get to see my favorite European country, Italy, at some point in your life travels.
Loved all that you saw in Austria. The face with the waterfall especially. So now we know you are 27. A great time to have all these adventures.

Just FYI, there are towers in the U.S. 😊 We call ours a bell tower in Frederick, MD because someone plays the bells at certain intervals of time throughout the day. Come visit if you are ever in the area.❤

I love that Innsbruck is one of your special places. It's one of mine too. I first went there as a chaperone with a group of students on a college trip, and fell in love with it. One of my favorite cities in Europe.

Rub it in lol, innsbruck I hadn't been there sense I was s kid, went to the Olympics ski slope. It use to have tulips as the eye could see around they're. The town was nice. Probably my favorite part of any Country. Id move their today if I could and say bye North Carolina 😂😂

Aren't you entitled to free transportation if you spend more than 2 nights in Innsbruck? I know I was 2 years ago. And not just the city but the entire area with different towns included. It helped A LOT.

We visited Salzburg when we were in Austria. It was very beautiful and the food was amazing.
I loved the crystal! I used to sell crystal dishes, vases,lamps etc. I especially love Swarovski 😄. Looks amazing on top of the mtn. You are making such wonderful memories!!

I laughed when you recommended no dresses in the one building. It reminded me of my workplace having the elevators refurbished. The floors ended up being stainless steel and it didn’t take long for woman to refuse to take the elevators until the floors were covered.

Pants aren't too tight unless you have to lay on the bed with someone pushing to get your pants together.

They are bandanas or a specific cloth brought with the people who have climbed the mountain. They attach it as a way of saying "I made it!" ... hope this helps!
