This is the first I’m hearing of it and it looks incredible! I can’t believe we drove right by it on the way to the Finger Lakes! We’ll have to try and see it on the way back to the border!
@@JimmyandNatalie Definitely worth the trip, We RV there every year. There are 3 large waterfalls. Lower, Middle & Upper. The Glen Iris Inn is @ the Middle Falls with a great overlook of the Middle Falls. Upper Falls has a historic railroad trestle above it with quite a history. Also check out the Mt. Morris Dam on the way into the park.
@@JimmyandNatalie I just came to the comments to recommend Letchworth State Park, too. It's a huge park & just beautiful. Lots of trails too. Glad you got to see Watkins Glen & Taughannock . Honestly, the trails at Watkins Glen get CRAZY busy in-season. Still amazing though. We have been to Sugar Hill too! That tower is HIGH!! Our offer to camp here still stands (Rochester area). We have land and a big driveway. 🙂 So fun seeing your adventures in western NY / Finger Lakes! Glad your shoulder is doing better, Jimmy.

You guys should zip over to vt and climb Spruce mt. Has a fire tower on top and it sways wicked u can get to the top all year round. There's so many fire towers to climb in vt, beautiful one on burk mt.

Great video. We live in NY and camp in Ithaca every summer. Ithaca has a lot of waterfalls. There's spot t Great video. we live in NY and there is a lot to see. The 1000 Islands on the St Lawrence is beautiful. The Adirondacks you would also love. We camped at Taughanock State park last summer.
A few years ago we spent 6 months on a forest inventory project in the Adirondacks area of NY, a very beautiful part of the world with thousands of great dispersed campsites. Let me know if you would like any suggestions in the area. Bob
If you are planning a Canadian trip, try the Cabot trail in Nova Scotia also in truro, Nova Scotia there’s a park that on the entrance is very deceiving but once you enter the park has long trails, a waterfalls that you can go in the water and long and beautiful trails at no cost. Also, if you do the Cabot trail, go one way and then go back in the other direction and you’ll see what you missed.
There is so much to do in the finger lakes!! I love seeing it through your eyes, all this stuff you’re doing are day trips we do every summer. Seriously!!!! Come park in our driveway!! So many fun hikes and day trips to do in the area. We could be your home base 😁 my 6 year old would be so excited to meet you guys, we watch you every week

Finger Lakes is a really nice area. We traveled there when younger and spent a good part of the summer. I got a job with a farmer, my girlfriend worked for a child care place and we camped in the woods on the farm I worked at. It was great and back then border crossing was simple for day trips to Canada. Stay safe.
The West Coast water is heating due to volcanic activity in the ocean. Which is off the charts. While at the same time, volcanic activity on the ground is off the charts also which is cooling the atmosphere. In turn, it will cause unprecedented weather. I got it on very reliable information wexwill see new categories of storms. Also notice many systems moving across the United States are actually hurricanes formed on land that cover the whole United States. Barometric pressure is what determines a hurricane.
When you make it over to Minnesota you need to go along the north shore of Lake Superior. Lots of beautiful state parks from Duluth to the Canadian border. Highly recommend!

Did junior high in Skaneateles, NY, overlooking the lake (easternmost finger lake). Gorgeous countryside! And lots of interesting things to see and do all over-historical sites, the Erie Canal, the baseball museum in Cooperstown, and on and on. Watkins glen is cool, but those narrow valleys hold very cold air even in the spring, and it could be icy on the stone walkways. Safer to wait!
To keep more dirt out of the van, try a GrassWorx 24 in. L X 18 in. W Taupe Flair AstroTurf Door Mat for outside the van. Seems to keep inside a little cleaner! Light weight and shakable Nice video

Pinicon Ridge in Central City Iowa has a similar tower that is amazing to climb and appears safer than the one you visited.

The trail is closed is because of the shale walls. The Parks Department has to go in and make sure the gorge walls are clear of debris.
Fire tower camping right around 😅 the corner close by,horse trails im sure you guys can find free camping there

Watkins Glen really is great... not sure if it's worse when trails are closed or, like when we were there, when they're packed full of people.
Even with all of the closures, you were able to see and do some pretty cool things. Loved the Taughannock Falls! Simply gorgeous!
