Kara Kerley Hi, I wanted to try, but so afraid that glycolic will break me out, but have ordered miceller water, changing up my routine, about to add drunk elephant C Firma, have you or anyone eles tried the C firma with cystic acne and if so, how did it work out?

      Marissa Kim ,
Thanks Marissa. I don't...i like Estee Lauder skin care...and Estee Lauder perfectionist foundation which has been great, no breaks out and only looks better the longer its on.
I am starting to be concerned about the strong perfumes in the Estee Lauder lotions..may change to fragrance free products.. I have tried physicians formula..and I might go back to some of the makeup..but I gotta stay with EL perfectionist foundation because its literally is the first thing I bought in years that doesn't clog my pores and break out my face. thanks.

we have a lot of favorites in common! I absolutely looove the Maybelline Age Rewind. great coverage and it just blends out so flawlessly. You can actually just pull the sponge off and use your finger to apply.
agree on WnW blushes, they're so good. the Milani baked blushes are also really good. the Loreal infallible shadows are great if you want an intense almost foiled shadow. I also love the WnW shadows (especially Comfort Zone palette) and the Milani ones are really good too.
Milani matte lipsticks are sooo good I agree. their liquid lipsticks are also comparable to high end. Their sister brand Jordana makes my favorite lip liners and their matte lipsticks are good too. I'll have to try the Essence ones though as well as Snowflake. My favorite drugstore highlight is WnW bronzer in Reserve Your Cabana... so beautiful. its subtle but buildable and doesn't sit on top of the skin like many drugstore highlights.
lastly my favorite brow products are the Loreal brow stylist definer and mascara. physicians formula has the best bronzers. and nyx HD blush in Taupe and WnW contour palette in Dulce de Leche has the best cool toned contour shade.

Omg! I've been using superstay for years. I am 34 and it is still working for my skin and looks great over lines. There is just something so beautiful about the finish of it. I prefer it over most high end foundation. I have oily skin in the T zone but small dry patches in other areas and this is just beautiful on the skin. Great coverage, however, I do lightly set it in my T zone and hours later it looks sooo beautiful still. Love your channel!

Maybelline lash sensational mascara (the old one with the pink tube) is my FAV mascara ever! I used to love the benefit roller lash but I have to admit, I like this one better!

    • @hannah090109
      @hannah090109 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I considered the roller lash my holy grail but then I heard people say the lash sensational was a dupe for it so I went and bought it a couple weeks ago and I love it. It's a little more wet than the roller lash but the effect is so similar that I don't see the benefit in spending 3x as much.

I have awfully pale skin as well and was having problems finding a contour that didn't have a mud-like look on my skin, but then I discovered the NYX blush in the shade taupe, it was perfect because of the grey undertones and was able create more of a shadow effect, rather than looking bronzed.

  • @Saratonin_x

Taylor you've gotta try the essence eyeshadow in 16 triple choc as a contour shade!! I might be a bit lighter than you and it isn't too warm toned but it isn't gray! It's a little dark but blending it out really well makes it work just fine :)

I'm just now falling in love with your videos and I've watched I kid you not like 20 today. But for a bronzer/contour at the drug store, totally try the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer if you haven't! It's great for fair skin because it has a cool undertone, it's not orangey at all. And it's super buttery and it smells so good!

SETTING SPRAY TRICK!!! I've used both those setting sprays too! I also liked the hard candy formula better, but the maybelline one has a waaaay better bottle. I kept my empty maybelline bottle and fill it with the hard candy spray. Best of both worlds!!

Have you tried any Physicians Formula Bronzers? They make my favorite bronzer drugstore or otherwise. It's matte and such a good color for me. Bronze Booster Glow-Boosting Pressed Bronzer.. Their packaging is a little too bulky for my taste so I always have to depot it, but I love the color and the way it applies! I use the medium to dark and just apply it lightly.

I use the Rimmel 25 Hour foundation for stage makeup, and it does work wonderfully on dry skin, but it breaks me out as well, though not badly. It lasts for hours, through three full length shows sweating under stage lights and is mostly shine free :)

The drugstore foundation I keep coming back to is Almay's Clear Complexion 4 in 1 Blemish Eraser in ivory (100). I have probably been using it for 6+ years now.
I have combination skin. With the wrong product, my skin's oiliness leaves me looking and feeling really cakey and heavily-makeup'd, so the most important things I look for in foundations are whether they look natural, feel light and clean, and can be worn without making me break out.
My skin cycles through breakouts pretty consistently. It's pretty good overall, but I'll get isolated cystic pimples and stand-alone little whiteheads. I always have a blackhead issue, particularly on my nose. The cystic pimples often (admittedly frequently by my mindless habit of stress-picking/touching my face) end up scabbing and leaving awful scars that sometimes stick around for months because I'm so pale.
I've used different moisturizers and applicators over the years with the Almay foundation (no primer - I haven't ever found one I've liked that felt light enough), but right now I'm using a very sparing amount of Clinique Dramatically Different lotion moisturizer (not the gel) and then applying my Almay foundation with a wedge makeup sponge from Sephora (just from the cheapy pack that you can get for $9 with black and white sponges). This foundation provides enough coverage to even out my skin tone - something I really need with all my redness and slowly fading scars, and it doesn't feel gross at all like many foundations, even when I build up the coverage in certain areas. I've been setting it with a light dusting of the Maybellene Superstay Better Skin powder - a recent find for me as well, but one I'm loving. I honestly like it better than the Bare Minerals mineral veil that I was using before (which did not do a very good job of keeping my oil at bay).
If I have super red areas from flare-ups or "active" blemishes, I do need a little extra help covering those areas, so I'll reach for Sephora's Bright Future gel-serum concealer in Bavarian Cream OR Covergirl's Ready Set Gorgeous concealer in the lightest shade. For really dark red spots, I have been using Bare Minerals Original formula in fair C10 as a spot concealer. It has amazing coverage, but it's one that feels super gross if I wear it as an all over foundation.
For someone with skin that sucks in makeup (when I would take off a full face of my Mac or Bare Minerals makeup, I could literally see how overly clogged my pores would become), this Almay foundation is a long-lasting winner that doesn't contribute to future breakouts or clog my pores over the course of the day. If you're willing to use it as a base to even you out and then help it out with a fuller coverage foundation as a spot corrector, I think it could be a really good option for others who need full coverage in some places, but don't want to deal with the feel and potential for breakouts that comes with wearing full coverage all over. And it's like $14, so you can't really go wrong. 👍🏻

Rimmel Scandaleyes Curve Alert (black tube, orange lid) is my favorite mascara, after they discontinued the Scandaleyes with Lycra (lime green tube). I haven’t fallen for anything else in years, and before I found the green tube, I bought a different mascara every time. I get compliments on my lashes all the time, and I never bother with false lashes. Give it a shot, if you haven’t.

The wet n wild contour palettes are great! 😊 Not 100% sure if it will be too dark for pale skin. :/ worth to at least try because they are under $5. The rimmel match perfection is super great to highlight! And doesn't look cakey or dry up the undereye, I do use an under eye primer..(I know rimmel breaks you out, but just saying my favs lol)

As to the Maybelline concealer, I took the sponge off, you're left with a little spout from which it is really easy to get the product with your finger or a brush-I really hated the sponge. I am in my 60's and find a bit drying for my undereye, so I mix it with a serum.

Just found your channel and love it!!! I used to struggle with cystic acne as well and found out it was caused by Talc (filler in most powder products, powders, blushes, bronzers) and Octinoxate (sunscreen SPF) and I noticed you said the Rimmel foundation broke you out and the sunscreen in that foundation is Octinoxate so you may look into those two ingredients. Literally changed my skin forwver

I'm going to agree with the person below me who talked about going cruelty-free! :) Definitely the best decision I ever made and I don't find it limiting at all! For example, all 4 of the top 4 of your favorite foundations from 15 Days were all CF! And SO many drugstore options - Essence, Physician's Formula, Wet n Wild, Jordana, NYX, Hard Candy, Flower, Milani, elf, and so many more! And a lot of mixers - like the manic panic - are CF! Just putting my opinion put there - I like your videos no matter what, but I think you're a very kind person and I can tell from your previous video on donating makeup that you know that you can encourage others through your videos!

Essence eyeliner pen, the finest one! Omg, so amazing. Gives such a dark, sharp line and I feel like it gives a lot of control over the line. And it's $3.50 at Ulta!!! And I totally have the same L'Oreal "gilded envy" eyeshadow. #Baerrito fam

Must try that Rimnel foundation! I've never had luck with Rimmel except for Airy Fairy lipstick, a nude pink with goldish flecks, which of course they ended up reformulating. I still have a tiny bit of the original, and have never found anything like it. I digress.... will definitely go get that foundation!

tip for the mabelline age rewind concealer: take off the sponge that everyone hates! I discovered if you just pull it, it pops right off nice and clean! Then you're left with just a nice skinny tube then when the product comes out you can either put it on your finger or on a brush/ etc. and it saves you so much product! (: hope this helps!

I have Sedona red, baby berry, pink love, plush plum, cabernet, rose crush, and tawny and they're all great quality. Tawny is easily my most used lip liner. It's a "my lips but better" color for me so I use it all the time.
