it is so appreciated that in 2021 you can play a pure RTS like this, with such simple but detailed graphics and with such a dynamic gameplay, it is beautiful, and has such a variety of mechanics that it is great. AOE3 has always been a great game, but this DE is beautiful, i hope they add more content and civs. And i can't wait for AOE4 and AOM DE.

This somehow looks better than AoE4, this has this gritty, raw yet beautiful naturally detailed world which AoE is known for and the combat/gameplay. It is only missing a bit volumetric light to it. Best in AoE series

I feel sad that AoE 4 is not gonna have this level of graphics and people carrying siege weapons. That's why i like AoE 3. not as fun as AoE 2 but the immersion is way better.

So true! I just dont understand how it is hard to put 2 horses in front of a packed trebuchet. Age 3 handled it and it looked awesome. So why this drastic change? Probably only to make it look "more like Age 2..."

I love this game for the diversity specially show around the 16th, 17th, 18th century.
No other game has something like this. But I hate how they add tons of units to some nations by other nations gets only some units. Specially when they don't add units that were world famous back then to a specific nations. Like for example, India was world famous for their rockets back then but you don't see any rocket units on the India nation in the game, but you see a rocket unit representing the rocket technology that the british stole from the Indians back then.
Another example would be in this video, would be the american nation in wich they added gattling guns but they didn't add any of the previous machine guns the americans developed during their civil war, I would have loved to see in the game, likey favourite machine gun they developed back then is this "catridge grinder machine gun" wich was the first they mass producced for the war.

I feel like it's more cause when they made the game originally, the concentrated more on the important global civilisations. Africa wasn't a major player on the world scene at the time.

@@mr.p215 Ethiopia was fully involved in WW2 and partially in WW1 and predates Alexander the great by almost 1,000 years. It was more relevant in world history than all of East Europe.

Great civilizations and great content, but please re-record some of the dialogue of units. They sound awful compared to others. I know you probably recorded them in Africa during COVID, so please record them again if you have the chance.

They want only one representative of the country..and the Indian civ is combination of all civs(camels although makes no sense)

I think they intentionally gave themselves space for that option in the future. If you look at the two new civs, the native allies, and at the new maps you'll notice that there is nothing from south of the equator. I think there may be a future African expansion if DLC sales and community engagement stays strong.
