I am so glad I have found your podcast. I have watched all of them in about a week.😳 My go to notions are stitch markers. I do a lot of knitting in the round.

Love the round case with compartments. One differnece in my choices is that I regulalry use the barrel type row counter with a ring. It is lightweight and easy to read. I pin the counter to the beiginning of the right side row using the ring. Every time I start a new right side row I’m prompted to update the row count without having to drop my Knitting and interrupt it like you do with a clicker. I do the same thing if I’m getting in the round. I don’t hang the real counter from my needle because I find it too bulky to do that.

I use the barrel style row counter that you showed. I use the ring to pin it to the beginning of the right side row. Therefore I am prompted at the beginning of every right side row to track what row I am on. I use it as a back up for tracking my place in Knit Companion.

New subscriber from New York State. ❤ My favorite notion is my actual notion pouch, which is a triangle shaped zippered pencil case. It sits flat on a table and stays open wide enough to see everything at a glance. ❤

Enjoyed the episode. It's interesting to hear what notions people use for knitting. Adding hand care products will be an addition to my notions. One of my essential notions is my doubled end crochet hook to pick up dropped stitches, and the other is my sock ruler.

Your ranking system was good. I agreed with a lot of your 5s. As for your question, way too hard to say! I love my project bags, but I use a few things all the time (stitch markers, sock ruler, scissors, crochet hook, tapestry needles) and would have a hard time working without them. Knit Companion does work on the phone and I use it periodically for some of my projects.

I keep a travel size package of dental floss in my notions bag for lifelines. I take a piece and thread it in the keyhole of my Knitters Pride Zing needle and just knit it through! Hi from Ottawa!

Great video Jenny! Loved seeing the kinds of tools you find useful. I like using those Knitting Barber cords to hold sleeve stitches and try on sweaters without have to transfer all my stitches onto waste yarn. I also like using the lightbulb stitch markers. I got a pack with a bunch of different colours and they're useful as stitch markers, separating pattern repeats, progress keepers, and differentiating between increases/decreases.

I am curious about the barber cords. Pony beading cord looked the same to me so I purchased some at Hobby Lobby as only a few dollars for many yards. What I am wondering is if the barber cord is less rubbery material. The stitches go onto the pony cord easily but it is hard sliding my stitches back out on it. The cord does not pull smoothly out of the work.

I use stitch markers and project bags constantly, so those would be my most important pieces when working on a project.

The tool I can't live without is a four way needle stitch counter. It's flat like a ruler and has windows for numbers attached to little wheels. You can keep track of your rows, adding and or deleting stitches, etc. I love this tool and have searched for it all over but to buy more of them, but without success.

Mine is a needle threader. I shake a bit so threading a needle is hard, but husband bought me the kind that has like a hook on either end and this makes it so easy and a lot less stressful.

I use baby nail clippers to cut my yarn plus the lightbulb 💡 stitch markers are my favorites to keep in my notion’s bag.

Loved the idea of using a bento box to organize your notions. I'll definitely have to steal that. I've also admired those stoke scissors in stores - glad to hear they are a worthy purchase!
For my favourite notion - I think it is my lightbulb stitch markers! I use them for so many things - counting rows, stitches, marking stitches. My favourite thing for joy is my little animal stitch stopper!

My most used knitting notion is a beginning of round stitch marker. I have so many pretty/cute ones that I use for BOR then I use the more ordinary ones for other stitch markers.

My favourite notion is kind of not really a notion, cause it’s my project bags; especially the projects that allow me to knit while walking 😊 Other than that it would be a crochet hook or fix it tool for dropped stitches.

Hi Jenny. My favorite accessory is my small plastic notion case. It is 2”x4” and holds almost every notion I would need when working on a project. A fun accessory I heard about a while ago is a plastic bread closure. You wrap your staring yarn tail around it and it holds your yarn tail out of the way until you are ready to weave in and cut your yarn end. Until next time, happy knitting.

Knit Companion is the best app ever! I also keep hand lotion (Eucerin) and dental floss for lifelines in my notions bag all the time, also an emery board in case of a rough fingernail.

I think my number one notion is stitch markers, particularly the ones without any hangy bits. I think my faves are the mini coated cocoknits ones. And then my tape measure. I have one that is shaped like a fox face and pas a Pom Pom at the end of the tape which is fun.
