THIS is that classic Uriah Heep sound. Wah wah guitar and Hammond organ by masters Mick Box and Ken Hensley. Then there's that amazing David Byron vocal. Paul Newton with that killer bass line and Keith Baker on drums. Entire album is a masterpiece.
That 2nd guitar solo, OMGoodness. I first bought this album (LP) in 1973. I hid it in my coat in the rain riding my little Honda motorcycle home. Can you imagine the selection of music on the record shelves at the time, 1973? Bur Uriah was my favorite, then Yes. Salisbury was a very adventurous album, no song even sounds the same as others on the album. Mick Box stands out with his wah-wah guitar. I've had this album going in my mind for 50 years.
Listened to all the great bands of the day but why is it Uriah Heep that I come back to most. Range of talent, range of songs, originality. Under-rated, under statement.

Mick Box has two solos, both incredible, but that last one with the precision atonal screech at the end gets me every time.
