LYRICS:
Somewhere in your eyes
That very special glow
Something drawing me
To where I do not know
I never really thought
That I would lose myself
Now I'm going faster
Than anybody else
You move without a sound
And touch me with your hand
Just like the rain that fondles
Every grain of sand
This thing we're gonna do
It's just for you and me
I'm gonna make it good
Good as it can be
Your kiss is sweeter now
Your breath is getting warm
We must take our time
And last it through til dawn
I wonder will it be
Oh, I expect it to
There have been other girls
No-one else like you
I feel a power here
I never felt before
And I begin to see
What drives us to want more
Oh, girl of all my dreams
Please tell me if I'm wrong
Because I've been blue
But we belong
As time passed and all too fast
I just knew we couldn't last
And I guessed that the end
Was near at hand
Though we tried our love inside
It just crumpled up and died
What went wrong
I will never understand
You tell me why
Alone again
How could you leave me
Alone again
I don't want to be
Alone again
There's a line in a rhyme
I was going to send to you
It says, "All that is to be
Will surely be"
So oh, though you had to go
'Cause you needed someone new
Is there still a chance
That you'll come back to me
I want you back you see
Alone again
How could you leave me
Alone again
How could you leave me
Alone again
I don't want to be alone again
Somewhere in your eyes
That very special glow
Something drawing me
To where I do not know
I never really thought
That I would lose myself
But now I'm going faster
Than anybody else
You move without a sound
And touch me with your hand
Just like the waves that fondle
Every little grain of sand
This thing we're gonna do
It's just for you and me
And I'm gonna make it good
Just you wait and see
#UriahHeep #Salisbury -
One of the greatest songs and one of the greatest guitar solos ever recorded.
I saw them twice in Philadelphia in early 70's. Live they were more than words and music. They were an experience that ya never forgot. I too am 70 now and I am sharing their music with a new generation. Some of my friends are now the age I was back then. And they always are freaking out over them. Glad to be able to bring great music to the young ones. They say we were so lucky to live then. They're right. We sure às in hell were.
probably saw you there,, 70yrs also, saw Heep a dozen times in 71-74, with Queen, Aerosmith..
Mick Box is superb here, what a guitar solo!
𝕿𝖍𝖊 𝖇𝖊𝖘𝖙 𝖘𝖔𝖓𝖌𝖘 𝖔𝖋 𝖀𝕳
Imo, the greatest riff I have everheard....I am 70 , heard a few.
it took me 4 months to learn it.......
Mick Box, David BYRON,Paul Newton,Ken Hensley,Keih Backer - Forever in this amazing track. David's vocal in Uriah Heep - voice of Freedom.Glory days.
@vladi my First contact with Uriah Heep was listening this album then i bought "The magicians birthday" and "Demons and Wizards".....pure joy!!
after 45 years i still love this song! thanks guys!
it will be forever unforgoten
To me this piece of music represents a rock symphony for an Ancient Greek tragedy. Absolutely brilliant. Work of art.
I got to see them at the Academy of Music in NYC in the early 70's. They were even better live than the album which to me is the mark of a great band. I'm now 70 but still listen to them often.
And PLEASE, never quit listen this music
Peace
I'm 67 and listen every day! since was a kid.
Saw them once here at home in Norway mai 1974. Never forget it. UH where at their peak!
I,m 65 and I listen every day too !
I didn’t, see them live before 1987 ! 😢, but late - where haven,t I listened to them live 😜😜😜
I borrowed their "Best of" album from a friend and never returned back more than 40 years ago . He still keeps asking for it..😊
@@erdal1953 🤣🤣🤣patient your friend
One of the greatest guitar solos of all time!
One of the LONGEST original solos of all time. Unbelievable.
Actually three of the greatest guitar solos. 😊 What a treat!
INMORTAL PERFECTION OF MUSIC
After 2.20 minutes, a legendary beauty, a modern symphony, the world does not progress, it only regresses.
Oh, how beautiful is Mick's guitar here! I can't stop listen to it!
Grandeee!!!
Another Mick performance.....one of the best worldvide
These guys are the originators of euro power opera metal!! Without this precursor no Gloryhammer, no Power Wolf, no Stratovarius, not even Freddy Mercury & Queen!! Love my Uriah Heep!!!
I remember when I first heard Salisbury about 10-15 years ago I couldn't get it out of my head how much Timo Kotipelto was influenced by Dave Byron's vocals
......the band is Very Heavy very Humble. TRUE....VERY TRUE. God bless them
I love Paul Newton's playing. Amazing!
My ex-wife had all their LP's back in the 1970's; when we were together. I never appreciated them as I do now ........ Mick Box was/is as good as they get!!!!!!!
My favorite Uriah Heep track.
I bought this album in May 1973 for the first time- Record Club of America in York, Pa.
51 years ago...wow!
When I think of the word 'masterpiece' I usually think of Mozart or Verdi, but 'Salisbury' is an extraordinary piece, and Box' solo is years ahead of it's time. His finger speed is astounding
I heard this tune on Planet Rock radio last night (19/03/2023), while travelling. I hadn’t previously given Uriah Heep much attention, although I really like classic rock and some prog music (am a 70’s born gal). I really liked this tune with its orchestral backing. It’s reminiscent of Deep Purple’s tune Child in time and also the orchestral thing that Jon Lord did with Deep Purple. I will seek out some more Uriah Heep music and explore it 🙂.
Vocal part striking similarities with "July Morning"
Listen "Аpril" by "Deep Purple"...
When I think of musical masterpieces, Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen and this Salisbury by Uriah Heeb always come to mind. World class!
Life changing in my teens, opened up new vistas of being...
after 52 years, still enjoy it at least once a week !!!!!
Very Super album
For me the best combination of rock with orchestra. The whole band is superb.
I remember having this tape in Spain in the early 70s and all our Spanish mates went mad for it! Happy days
Believe it or not, this is not my favorite Heep song! I discovered my favorite after hearing this masterpiece on the radio and immediately going out and buying the album (American version so a little different. That's when I found "Lady in Black" which is my favorite! Not the super slick, very produced and powerful work that is this song but a haunting tune attached to amazing lyrics! All in all, 70's Heep is the best!

The Salisbury tour was my very first live give gig. I will never forget it. This is an awesome track and I love Paul Newtons bass. He is my favourite Heep bass man

@@glorissass7162 vielen Dank für diese netten Worte 😊🙏
My favorite Heep song. What a masterpiece! Do it again live with a competent orchestra (not like the Hensley attempt a few years ago, sad to say).
Just did a search for what you mentioned, currently pouring bleach into my ears now, bloody hell it was awful, i survived about 4 minutes of them actually, i was gonna say playing, god never heard musicians as bad.

@@paulspalace,... Okay ~ Sorry; but it doesn't change my opinion, that U H is one of the V E E E R Y BEST IN ROCKMUSIC HISTORY !!!!! BERNIE / GERMANY
@@bernhardherrmann9230 ahh Bernhard we are at cross purposes, my reference is to the video of Ken Hensley with an orchestra trying to play this track live and the orchestra is shockingly bad, I love Heep, i saw them in 72 on the tour that became their brilliant live album. take care, P.A. (Northwest England)
fantastisk!
Great song great album 🤘
Uriah Heep go STRAIGHT ahead
Mick Box shreds it like he stole it. Brilliant song.
Amazing composition, and the remaster of it and the whole album is excellent. LP is extremely enjoyable
The best for ever
Love in life !
These sounds are so my youth !
Le meilleur de toutes ces années confondues ! Ou comment faire chanter une basse ?!
big up👍👍
Excelente ❤ Adorei demais!!
Remaster sounds really nice, brings out some nuance to the instruments giving them that feel of real playing. If I had to give any downside, maybe a little too much top end and a bit too much panned to the right, orchestra would feel a lot fuller spread out a bit more. But then the original recording had its limitations and this a remaster, not a remix.
Deze LP heb ik, Geweldig 👍🥰
Prachtige opera.
This song got a crap. But being high and listening to this song... I get it. It's an FN masterpiece
The Bird of Prey is on the same release? Unbelieaveble
❤
LOVE LOVE LOVE

STRANGE CHANNEL. IS THIS REALLY OFFICIAL ? AD IN MIDDLE OF THE SONG

Puro Rock.
Not a metal guy, better than any thing from Rush. A great prog song. Saw them in York Pa in early 70s
I wish they would come back to York! I've never seen them in concert
Did you guys ever play this live ?
impossible ( with the philharmonic orchestration ).......
What’s the track list on this?
