- Kabir Singh Bedi OMRI born 16 January 1946 is an Indian actor. His career has spanned three continents covering India, the United States and especially Italy among other European countries in three media: film, television and theatre.He is noted for his role as Emperor Shah Jahan in Taj Mahal: An Eternal Love Story and the villainous Sanjay Verma in the 1980s blockbuster Khoon Bhari Maang. He is best known in Italy and Europe for playing the pirate Sandokan in the popular Italian TV miniseries and for his role as the villainous Gobinda in the 1983 James Bond film Octopussy. Bedi is based in India and lives in Mumbai.

Amazing how Irfan sir asks the sensitive questions without poking the guest. Also how he brings Kabir sir's parental and political exposure to ask about his current political stand.
It's tastefully done, unlike those brash, disgraceful tabloid style anchors who shall remain nameless.

Impressive personality, voice quality, pronunciation as well. He is a versatile actor and deserves all appreciation for his knowledge.
So lovely to hear Kabir Bedi speak in Urdu. That too with excellent pronunciation. Just one minor foible: Omar Sharif was Egyptian and Egypt as we all know is in Africa.

Such an intelligent discourse between these two charismatic personalities. I loved the story about Parveen and Gina Lollabrigida and how Kabir chose to stick with his love, the beauty with brains Parveen and politely distanced himself from the catty and rude Lollabrigida, however valuable she may have been for his career.

I have read this book, and I liked Kabir Bedi's honesty and got to know that he's an out and out family man and a loving person.... and I so, became a greater fan of him, though I had been his fan ever since we saw him when he came to visit his aunt, Mrs Bedi , ( first name not known) , Chief Warden at one of the hostels , at Lady Hardinge Medical College in 1967/ 68

Kabit Bedi used to model for my mother's fashion shows in the 1960s. He actually held one of my sisters in his hands when she was a child.

A thought came to me about his father. During 1940s both Faiz Ahmad Faiz and his father had social justice on their mind and I am sure their paths must have crossed.

This is very good interview by Irfan who is an ideal interviewer with tehzeeb. Kabir Bedi was always a great personality with talent, handsome and excellent voice and diction. He reveals himself as a learned person coming from such a good family including Guru Baba Nanak. Kabir accomplished a lot as an India actor who achieved international acceptance and fame. His Indians films were also very good. One thing not good was to leave the dinner hosted by world top actress Gina Lolobrigeda because she teased Parveen Babi during dinner. Kabir should have shown respect and maturity towards Gina and not let Parveen manipulate him like that. Teasing in western countries over dinner by famous people can happen and has to taken sportingly not as a stubborn pride. Parveen Babi was wrong to react like that during dinner towards host.
I disagree. Lollabrigida has been known to be flirtatious and ignoring the partner of her guest was clearly rude and catty. Have some gumption to recognise that. Kabir chose to leave with Parveen because he'was intelligently aware of what was happening and did the right thing by excusing himself from the party.
@@shamspuri2493 Guru Baba Nanak gave one of commandments as baand shako or share your food and then eat. Gina Lolobrigeda was following this tenet by inviting Kabir and offering good food at a restaurant, not in her bedroom. I knew Gina, she was a lovely lady, very beautiful and generous. She liked Indian good looking actors. Once she sent Shashi Kapoor a bouquet of roses when he was not famous but was attending film festival at Cannes and she ran into him in a lift. She got his name mixed up with the heroine of the film and the bouquet went to her. Later she asked Shashi Kapoor if he got it. Shashi Kapoor was surprised but laughed it off. Now coming back to her being a flirt is not in good taste about host. What would you say about Parveen, live in with at least three famous men and never married to either. So before pot calls the kettle black they need to look at themselves.

But giving your guest's partner a cold shoulder, attempting to drive a wedge between them is a lot closer to the truth and unsightly. Ingratiating yourself to such an individual is not a praiseworthy self serving prophecy either, as you seem to think so, deserving of respect because they served you a banquet at their party and insulted you at the same time. How convoluted is that reasoning. Perhaps you have a crush on Lollobrigida, yourself. Please don't cite a Saint's commandments in your arguments because he is/was closer to divinity than mere mortals, like the rest of us.
@@shamspuri2493 You are talking about something which you have no idea about. Let me clarify a few things for you. Gina's career as a leading lady was ending by this Kabir dinner. She had been smart to have started a second career at the time of her peak when young as a photo journalist and had become good at it. She was 19 years older than Kabir at that time. She wanted to photograph him because he was at his peak in celebratey and looks. She had photographed many famous people and published. Gina was the only western photographer to go to Cuba and photograph Fidel Castro. Gina found out Kabir was the descendant of Sikh religion founder as Kabir had been freely dropping this in circles and parties. She read about sikhism and learned about the Guru's tenet of baand shako and langar. So she thought a dinner invite in a top restaurant would warm Kabir and let her ask Kabir if she could photograph and publish him, for a payment to Kabir. Now Parveen who was a star only in India, not in the world like Gina, acted jealously and immaturely and wrecked the dinner by making Kabir walk out. Kabir Bedi owes an apology to Gina Lolobrigeda and I am sure Guru Baba Nanak would not approve of his conduct to refuse the food and walk out and then brag about it. He needs to show maturity and goodness like his ancestor.

All other interviewers be it of rakhta and other platforms like lallantop (particularly saurabh) should learn from Irfan on how not to interrupt and maintain decorum.

Popular Indian film artist Shri Kabir Bedi. Who has crossed the boundaries of India's Bollywood and reached Europe as well as Hollywood. Especially in Europe he got incredible fame. He recently published a book based on his biography. He was describing the book in a TV interview. What is there in that book, almost reaching the climax, he stopped and said, what is after that, look in the book. (Maybe), that's called smart marketing..! Will listen to the free..? Whoah..! I will not let it happen..! Kabir became a lover of Rajneesh (Osho). His Guru himself claims that he is the "Guru of the Amirs" What can his disciple do without the Guru's teachings..? Money Money and Money This is the main mantra of "Osho". Kabir said a lot of good things in his interview, but, the fact that he is still obsessed by the GURUMANTRA, is evident..! No matter how much a person tries to hide himself, his form inside the mask is bound to come out...(!) A great personality like Shree Kabir Bedi is the best example...!

Excellent Interview. However Modi is not even an inch of what Kabir Bedi is. Kabir Saab is a true artist with authenticity and dept whereas Modi has become flaky and unempathetic and has compromised the dignity of the status he has. His language and his shallow mindset reveals his degrading inner core in so many speeches and statements given in the public. Kabir Sir could have skipped mentioning his name and that would have made a spotless interview....

what is this ganju interviwer asking the handsome man? he doesn't know what the equation of such people in open society is? everytime they attract people of all sorts to themselves , i have been seeing it from my fathers time... women flinging themselves on him because he was so good looking, such human being aways attract others all the time, and they exude that aura of magnetism pheromones its not fault of other parties either, they cannot help that attraction whether one night stand, just a fling or long terms depends on both parties what they want from each other, but it is a very normal reaction to all good looking attractive handsome people men especially of this world and those men never dissapoint their fans , after all their reputation of " studs':) or simply because they know that they must do what? stand up to occassion:) but this is reality of all attractive people

The hist of this interview is too thanda. The score Kabir Bedi did and achieved in his life he could not asked the way he should e g. Sando Ken and James Bond also worked with Devanand and Firoz khan. Kabir had very glamorous lifestyle and his casanova image but he couldn't high light much. Very boring host.

Typical looser life
All ladies left him because of his open and careless lifestyle and now he is trying to defend his same life style.
