- Floyd Mayweather faced off against John Gotti the third in an exhibition fight that ended early last night. Gotti was disqualified in the 6th round for grabbing but then shoved the referee aside and charged Mayweather. Parties for both sides entered the ring as a larger brawl ensued. Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe react to the fight.

The referee disqualified Gotti because he consistently ignored directions despite being warned in his corner. At the point of disqualification, Gotti was holding Floyd’s head and arm, and would not let go.

If you actually watch the fight and listen to the conversation that the ref had with Gotti, he told him repeatedly in the 5th round that he would stop the fight if he didn't obey his commands. He then went to the corner in between rounds and reiterated the message. Then he told him yet again in the 6th round to stop holding. The stoppage was completely justified. This isn't a street fight, this is an exhibition where the A side was expected to win and not take any damage. Gotti got frustrated and didn't want to look stupid and was looking for a way out of there. He knew all he had to do was keep holding and that is exactly what happened. Anyone who is upset at the ref should really be upset by Gotti.
