The problem Skip has, is that he has trained himself to be this cartoon character so well, he can't break out of character when it comes to discussing sports in any fashion or scenario.

Obviously Skip wants to retire because I did not know he said that about Dak and his tweet was almost like I'm talking about the bills player here, he's trying to get to the news first and he's forgetting about the player and what he's going through. Personally, I have always felt Skip Bayless was a jerk. He is the classic example of why with very few exceptions, only former professional athletes should be sports casters. Many of these non-athletes are simply jealous of people who can do things they never could, and they are often clueless about the nuances of the sport. He is overly impressed with himself and there is NOTHING impressive about him. He should get the boot.

The broader point here I think, is we shouldn't just allow someone to continue to be tone deaf and insensitive just because that's the personality he established back when we were all first introduced to him. Skip has been cringe to watch with no real substance to his arguments for a long time. Seeing the comments that just cry cancel culture and turning this around on the athletes shows that we still have a long way to go when it comes to changing the discourse and the level of dehumanizing that we allow for the sake of entertainment.
