Hi Everyone, I hope you enjoyed this video. Just a quickie as I know you’re probably all thinking it….The foundation (which I loved) didn’t look as ghost-like in natural lighting….if you follow me on instagram you’ll have seen the photo I took straight after filming which didn’t look bad at all. When I was editing the video I thought I looked scarily white, almost skeletal. I really should learn to turn my lighting down...sorry. The foundation however was still a couple of shades too pale for my skin so I am swapping it for the shade SHELL instead. Also I’d like to mention that I applied too much foundation....it ended up being SUPER FULL coverage which is not how I'd normally wear it. On a normal day the amount I applied would have been fine, but with the primer you need to apply a lot less. My mistake. Please don’t be put off by how this foundation looked on camera….it really was beautiful in real life xxx
I love the foundation on you! I must try the mineral vail primer! Treated myself to the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit 4 palette, had to purchase on EBay as it was limited edition released over the holidays last year! I really wanted 😊. 2 blushers, bronzer and 3 ambient lighting powders... loving!!!
Mineral Veil is the ONLY primer that doesn't break me out. No idea how they managed that, but I'll take it! At the age of 42, I'm finally trying out blushes, so I might consider the Hourglass one. We have almost exactly the same skin tone, so I love that I can just go for the right shade each time! (heck, I'm not even that big into makeup, but I absolutely LOVE your channel! ... and I follow you on IG... seriously woman, you're just a joy to watch)
I don’t have a lot from Hourglass but what I do I absolutely love. The diffused powders are undetectable on my skin and the loose powder doesn’t look cakey on me. I took a chance and got the blush in a color I would never pick for myself - Mood Exposure - to me it looks bland and dull (in the pan) and I typically go for cool or brighter pinks and corals - I cannot describe how beautiful it looks - lights up my face (I layer it over other blushes to buff them out if they’re too bright). It’s not like anything I’ve ever seen in a blush - usually if it looks a certain way that’s what you get - not with this - for reference I’m between Too Faced Peach Perfect in nude (hair too dark but not bad) and almond (hair too light in the summer). It shows up and I’m not porcelain. You look radiant.
Hi Gemma! Thanks for showing the foundation application close up. It really helped to see the texture, thickness & spreadibility of the foundation! Please consider doing this in all your foundation reviews in the future!!!
Hourglass is probably the best Luxury brand out there (in my opinion). I usually save money to buy hourglass products. Many of hourglass products are genuinely worth the money!
Love that you did this video. I recently treated myself to a lot of hourglass products and absolutely love them. I also have the hourglass skin tint foundation which is amazing put on with a beauty blender on top of the veil primer, you don’t need a lot of product and it leaves your skin glowing! I have the foundation stick in a few shades lighter and use it as a concealer but I do use a oil under my eyes first and then after set with the veil powder using a small brush. I agree with everything you said regarding the blush as I have the same shade, the bronzer is also stunning. If you like the blush you will love the bronzer. The other product I love is the dim light. This applied and swept across the face after all your make up has been applied leaves a flawless finish. I have had lovely compliments on this make up since wearing it, pricey but for me worth it. Like you said they do a lot of these products in the small travel size including the bronzer which helps save some money. Will be purchasing some more products next pay day!, xx
I got sooooo excited when I saw the title of your video .... I have been eyeing up some of these for a while, but as always loathe to spend lots of ££££ on them. Though recently I've said sod it & I've been buying highend makeup over drugstore & it kills me to say it, but in most, not all, circumstances the expensive brands out perform the drugstore ones. Gemma you look gorgeous in this video, your makeup and hair in the intro 😍😍😍 ... very beautiful lady xx
Dear Gemma, you are so right about the mascara! It makes my lashes super stiff instead of super thick and super grainy . It clumps at the root of the lashes and over the day I end up with tiny black grains under my eyes and even on top of my cheeks. As for the veil powder and blushes, they are exceptional. As my husband would say: for the first time you are right again.
Great video. I have 3 of the hourglass edit palettes, which I love. The packaging is gorgeous, and the products fabulous. They are about £69 but you get 1 bronzer, 1 highlighter, 2 powders and 2 blushers. They are quite small but so good I think it’s worth it.
Thanks for the review, Gemma! You make it so helpful to pick and choose what products I buy. And I really appreciate that you tell the price of products in the U.S.
Absolutely gorgeous! I love that you're honest about products and how you recommend what may work for other skin types. Looking forward to your powder tutorial. xx
My money is on Hourglass Veil for winner of the powder wars. It is so amazing. I also love the ambient powders for buffing.like you, not a fan of the mascara. Want to try the blush and the eye pigments.
How Gemma, I have used two Hourglass products, the primer and the Ambient Light Powder, love them. Yes would love to see your mum back doing a video with you. The foundation looked lovely on screen, and the lipgloss looks nice too. Thank so much Gemma. Angela.😘😘💄
The Hourglass travel sizes are the best! Not only to travel with but to give you a good amount of product to try out. I find the little samples aren’t usually enough product to give you more than 1 or 2 uses. And that isn’t enough for me to know if I like a product or not. Love the primer, loose powder, and the bronzer. Their travel kabuki brush is great too! I use it with powder foundation.
Ohhhh, the coveted Hourglass:)🤩 The forbidden fruit, lol. I purchased the Ambient Lighting 4 Palette a while ago and LOVE it. I knew that I wanted the Diffused Light after trying a sample. When the 4 palette came out it just seemed like a better value. They honestly are fabulous products. Those blushes are insane, and the Ambient Powder (in Diffused) is gorgeous. Thanks so much, girlie🍃🌸
I love the Vanish Stick so much that I rarely use it! (I have it in Alabaster) Maybe it's just the branding and marketing, but it seems so luxurious and expensive, I feel it's most fitting for special occasions or professional photos. I just can't bring myself to use it for every day casual, and it goes fast so I wanna save it for special times.
I'm 51 and my skin is very dry. I apply the Hourglass No 28 primer under this, after moisturizing really well. Also, a light hand is best, and I do mean hand. It works better warmed up on the skin, so I apply with my fingers. I usually get a light coverage that is very skinlike and never sinks into my wrinkles or pores. BUT, if you use too much, it looks very mask-like. If you still find it drying, you can take the primer serum and warm it in your hands and gently press into (no swiping!) your skin. I also never powder this, as it makes me look too dry and cakey. I have set my under eye with Charlotte Tilbury pressed powder and I didn't find it any more drying than it is with other foundations.
I love the blush❤️❤️❤️❤️. I love their BB cream too. I got a sample of the veil primer and definitely buying a larger version. Also going to get their bronzer. I am in love with this line.
Beautiful! And I love your hair with a middle part! I might purchase the blush but you are correct, pretty pricy. As far as new items to try, I am testing Il Makiage new foundation on my 63 year old skin and I gotta say, impressive, maybe you an test, would love to see what you and your mom think.
Gemma, I prefer the luminous lighting powder instead of the loose setting powder. It gives your face that same subtle glow like the blush does and sets my makeup wonderfully. I use my Laura Geller baked blush in Pink Grapefruit or Tropic Hues and love those. I want to try the Hourglass blushes too. Yours look is gorgeous wit that blush. ❤️😊👍
Happy to hear Jan will be back soon. I hope she's feeling better. Have you tried NYX Angel Veil primer? It's supposed to be a dupe for the Hourglass Veil (without the SPF). I love that Hourglass blush and I'm seriously tempted to plunk down the cash for it (I'm a sucker for pretty packaging as well which is why I avoid high end makeup counters..haha). I really love your reviews. You gave us all the tips and tricks and you look so beautiful. xxoo
I'm a huge fan of the primer from Hourglass. Not a fan of the price though. I recently bought NYX Angel Veil because I heard that it was a good dupe. I can say that it is similar. NYX is thicker and I have encountered a few granules in the product as well. Overall I am happy with it and would purchase it again.
Absolutely gorgeous as ever. Just love watching your tutorials and immediately went to Mecca to order the Luminous Flush blush. It looks stunning on you and hope it suits me just as much. Love from New Zealand.xx
Might have to look into the blush. I have the low light which is amazing, us pale peeps need it. I tend to shy away from bronzer but it does a similar thing without being overly brown. Thanks for the awesome review!
I recently bought a little graphik eyeshadow palette from hourglass that's five matte brown shades. It's absolutely delightful, super soft and easy to blend. Expensive AF but perfect for doing my eyes for work and being compact enough to carry.
All the products look so pretty on you, great color match....I have used their Primer and it is wonderful...beautiful blush and lip color all go together so well...love the review!
Yes please more videos with your mother. I am 56 and I am always looking for foundation, and concealer that work for my skin. As for Hourglass, the Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting powder is my holy grail finishing powder. It knocks the powdery finish of my Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless down and gives me a skin like finish. Their other holy grail product for me is the Mechanical Gel Eyeliner there is nothing else like it on the market. Super pigmented, and super creamy it just glides right on, dries quickly and doesn't transfer at all. I use it everyday to tightline.
You're not alone on the mascara. I got a mini size tube with an order from sephora and I just don't like it. I thought I was the only one. It's been rotting away in a makeup bag since I used it the first time. On a happier note the setting powder is stunning. And the primer too. I'm dying to get my hands on one of their ambient light palettes.
I love a dramatic lash also and this mascara fell flat for me too. I have been debating getting this blush. I passed because I didn't want to spend that much on a blush. After your review it is definitely being added to my collection! Beautiful as always!
I agree about using a primer because if you don’t, pores can seem emphasized. I use it with some Dior forever glow so it melts into my skin better.**add: the Dim setting powder is amazing
I agree with you that the mascara sucks! I tried a sample of it and had such high hopes but I thought it was terrible and didn't do anything for my lashes at all!! But great video, I am going to have to try that blush!!
I think I would probably really like the foundation, and I'm not really a big fan of stick foundations. But you're right, the expense of the stick PLUS the primer... I don't think so. Really pretty blush, & lip gloss. It's always fun watching someone else play with new makeup if you can't do it yourself..💜
These colours all look fantastic on you. The only Hourglass product I have at present is the Ambient Light Palette trio...finishing powders which are absolutely beautiful!! I really want to get the blush as well as it does look stunning on you. Look forward to seeing more videos with your Mum. Have a fantastic day Gemma xx
Gemma. This morning i am revisiting some of your videos and this Hourglass one is such a vidro. I must point out a tip for when you apply the Vanish Stick Foundation and indeed applies to all stick foundations. It is a tip passed on by Tati early last year i think. Right firstly you apply the stick foundation but before blending it out you give your face a few spritzes of setting spray all over the face. Then you blend the stick foundation. Do it this way and you will find that the wetness of the spray helps to blend out the foundation stick. Try it x
Heck yeah, I want to hear from you & mom on powders! I hope to hear about powders for setting makeup, for finishing (surprised that you didn't use an ambient lighting one here), maybe even as foundation (like KVD's Lock It).
Thanks for the review of the Foundation Gemma, l love the Hourglass Illusion skin tint and was wanting to purchase the Vanish stick foundation but l haven't heard many good review about the product. Hourglass is one of my go-to brands when l am looking for a product, they very rarely disappoint me. Love the Mineral Veil primer, their eye brow pencil, Vanish highlighting stick. I also have every edit palette that l could get in Australia. They are expensive but you need so little so they last a seriously long time.
Your hair is gorgeous! I will have to live the Hourglass life, vicariously through you. I love how giddy the compact made you. I was cheezing (big grin) myself.
Thank you so much for this video. I love Hourglass cosmetics and can’t wait to check out the lip glosses! I love their bronzers AND their finishing powders. They have several colors...I have several but think the best for daily use is Ambient Powder in Dim Light. Love your look! I sure hope you give us a tutorial on your eye look! Beautiful! 😘
Love the Primer, the Blush and the Ambient Lighting Powder. Really didn't like the lipstick (but haven't tried the gloss) or the stick foundation. Bought an eyeshadow palette years ago - the one that was all swirled - but didn't care for that very much either. Your eye look in this video is gorgeous! BTW - finally got my hands on the CYO foundation today! Can't wait to try it tomorrow!
OMG! I ordered the blush from Sephora in the mini/travel size. I love it! When it's empty, I will splurge on the full size. I like buying minis, just in case the colors don't work on me. Boy, I wish I had bought the full size in this one. Thank you!
I love the bareminerals barepro concealer as it doesn't crease and blends great for me. I set it with the defused light underneath the eyes and the peach light on my inner corner because at 50ish that's where I'm grey blue.
Love your videos. I find them informative and helpful. I am 67 with fair skin (as a reference point, I wear Estee Lauder in 1C1) and the associated wrinkles and texture that come with age. As such I am very interested in your mom's take on anything. Looking forward to your review of powders.
Great Video, I Love the Hourglass stick foundation and the blush, I actually use the blush as an eyeshadow as well some days, Your eyeshadow looks Beautiful in this video, what did you use....Much Love from Queensland Australia 🇦🇺❤️❤️❤️
I have wanted to try the ambient blush for ssssoooooo long, but I just can’t justify the cost! But I have heard EVERYONE say they love it. Thank you for your video!
I watched this and waited to comment bc when I bought this over the winter I didn’t care for it but then I also wasn’t using what skin care I have now and with the weather changing so has my skin. I watched this for all of your tips and used them, and it looked great and lasted all day! I rarely ever use primers but I did use some pore filling primer and really good moisturizer and skin care. I think it’s a great foundation but tricky to use. Thanks so much for this video. This was one foundation that’s been sitting around with my other so so ones that I don’t use much anymore. How would you feel about doing a video dedicated to all physicians formula products? Their healthy skin foundation right now is my top favorite go to and I really like quite a few other things from them! Thanks again for this video! Totally saved this foundation from getting handed down to someone. I think it’s great for a very long lasting foundation that stays in place and you can chose the coverage that you want.
Pampered Wolf that’s great! I didn’t know you didn’t have PF there. I hope you love their foundation as much as I do! They have a really good organic facial oil too!
Love Hourglass, but only have a highlighter in sample size and one powder in regular size. Yes, that packaging!! Wanting to try the blushes too. You looked fabulous! I need a wonderful primer so I may have to try that one. Thanks for this and can't wait to see your mum back on here with you! :)
Yes it does. I really like it and I'm considering buying the full sized version. The lady on the Hourglass counter gave me quite a few samples. You don't need much and I've only just ran out. xxx
I love your reviews. I am 56 and I have to say that I love the mascara - I have very short, straight lashes and for me the mascara gives me wonderful non-clumpy long full lashes - it reminds me of the power of Tom Ford mascara. I have been stalking the stick foundation and might now give it a go. I would have loved to see you use the glittery eyeshadow pots, but it’s all soooo expensive. The blushes, bronzes and ambient powders are so great, so their holiday face palettes, or the mini sizes are worth checking out. Just a comment at the end of your foundation reviews about your mum’s experience is great - it must be hard to find days to film on both your faces together.
I only see my mum once a week Ari, so when we see each other we often like to do other things rather than film for the entire day. That's why she's not been on for a while xxx
Yes, that’s why I thought you just mentioning occasionally what she thought of things would be waaay easier than doing videos together! You want to enjoy your time together, not work!
Everything looks beautiful! I am very into blushes and lip products. I have a few high-end blushes I've been pining for, but can only buy one .. and even then, I may not be able to eat for a week to buy one. So this blush is now in the running. I'm trying to decide between Bare Minerals Gen Nude Blush in "Pink Me Up", NARS liquid blush in "Orgasm", and now this one. As for sheer lip products are concerned, I cannot recommend highly enough, IT Cosmetics Blurred Lines lipstick. It smells divine, is THE most comfortable, hydrating thing I've ever worn on my lips, and the colors look SO pretty on me. They don't look like they'll be anything special before you put them on. Man, they are fabulous on. I have "Brave", "Love", and "Perfect Nude". If you buy a 3 lipstick bundle (available in a few varieties) on QVC's website, you'll get 3 at just a little over the price of 1! I am very fair, and cannot normally wear anything even remotely nude, but Perfect Nude is great on me. I love all 3 colors on me. There are a good bit of shades, but only some are available in the 3 piece sets. All of the Blurred Lines lipsticks are sheer with the exception of 2 shades. I almost exclusively wear only this line of lipsticks because I love them so much. If money were no object, I'd buy more shades.
I own all 3 of those blushes and really like them all but they are totally different. The Gen Nudes lasts a long time for a powder so I recommend. I'm in love with my hourglass blush and also the Orgasm blush which has a highlighting sheen to it is stunning and a lot more glowy than the others. xxx
@@PamperedWolf I have the Gen Nude blush in "On The Mauve", and it's the best powder blush I own. So I know for sure I'd love it in "Pink Me Up" too. Right now on Ulta's website they have a 20% off code for prestige brands, so that would be a rare savings on the NARS blush. I don't think they sell Hourglass products there though.. so I would probably order that one online.
I'm glad you listed the color foundations you are wearing. I think we may have extremely similar skin tones. I know in the Loreal, I wear Ivory, and I was wondering about the Maybelline dupe for IT Cosmetics. I cannot find a shade of the IT cosmetics brand that works with my skin tone without mixing it with another foundation. Which annoys me. I know the NYX Ash Brown pencil you've used was the best match I've had for an eyebrow pencil in a long time. Thanks!
I have had a sample of the powder and it was nice but I didn't feel like it was worth the cost. I am looking forward to the video on powders. As far as the other products, I don't buy a ton of high end makeup, I will splurge on a few high end skin care products though. I think foundation looks beautiful on your skin but I prefer light to medium coverage. The blush is soft and lovely but I still can't justify the price. Overall I think they have wonderful products but too pricey for my budget. Now, if we can get a foundation that doesn't exaggerate the bags and wrinkles under my eyes... That might be worth it, 😀. Thanks for another great video!
I love Hourglass blushes I have Ethereal Glow, Dim Infusion, Luminous Flush and Mood Exposure. I like the mascara but it is very difficult to take off.
Hi Gemma, Love your hair 😍 I have two of the hourglass ambient light palettes and love them. Also have the veil wand thing but don’t know how to use it! xx
My fave HG products are the powders, blushers and bronzer and both primers. I have the stick foundation but my dry skin prefers make up forever sticks. Their bullet lippie is super good too. I passed on the loose powder as didn't like the ingredients. Your make up looks like a filters on it Gemma 😘 it is a fabulous brand. Xxx
I’ve heard that the Makeup Revolution foundation stick is a dupe for the HG foundation stick. Would you consider doing a comparison? I am really loving your full face videos! 😊
You looked absolutely gorgeous! I’ve bought more than one of the blushes, the veil powder, lipstick and gloss. I love, love the blushes. The veil is so gorgeous, just really seems to blur things(I’m 59), yikes I never give that out! I don’t care for the smell of the lipstick (asthma) and I’ve yet to try the gloss. Guess I need to.
You make me love Hourglass again with your look. Fantastic. Please do a full face of SENNA Cosmetics. They've been around since the 1970 and still in business.

Beautiful make over in particular the eye make up love that colour on you . xx
Hi Gemma, yes I would like to see a video about the powder especially on your mum's skin. I'm glad she is doing videos with you again.
Yes please can your mum try out the powders too x

Very pretty as always!! The look on your face with the blush... priceless. 😂
Have used Illusion Hyaluronic Skin tint for several years. Fairly good coverage for a product marketed as a skin tint. Very nice product.
Love when ur mom is on your channel! Looking forward to seeing if there is any difference between powdering ur face vs your mum
Yes please the powders video! I love when your Mum tries things too.
Yes, would love to see your mum testing the powders too💜
Your makeup looks stunning, always wanted to try the hourglass stick 😊
I love your hair parted in the center!! And that blush...wow. Absolutely gorgeous.
Absolutely gorgeous! I love that you're honest about products and how you recommend what may work for other skin types. Looking forward to your powder tutorial. xx

Hi from Virginia USA. Yes please to the powder video with your mum
I love the blush❤️❤️❤️❤️. I love their BB cream too. I got a sample of the veil primer and definitely buying a larger version. Also going to get their bronzer. I am in love with this line.
I love the Hourglass setting power. I have used both, the Laura Mercier and Hourglass, and for some reason the Hourglass looks better on my skin.
Powder comparison? Yes, please!

I love seeing you get so excited, I must admit the look of the blush and its packaging is very tempting. Yep it's on my list . Take care everyone 😉
Your hair looks pretty damn fabulous.
The nude bronze light is beautiful I have 3 of the bronzers 🙈 3 blushers a cream highlight which is lovely and I love the scattered light for the eyes
Katrina I think if we joined forces our makeup collection would sink a battleship! xxx
I'm loving the No 7 perfect light loose powder
I must say my hourglass blush is one of the best things I've ever bought. I have shade mood exposure and I'm nearly at pan 😩😩
I have the ambient light blush and bronzer in the mini sizes. Love them!!!! I think your eyelashes look lovely
I agree about using a primer because if you don’t, pores can seem emphasized. I use it with some Dior forever glow so it melts into my skin better.**add: the Dim setting powder is amazing
Looking forward to the powder review video with you & your mom! Adding the blush & lip gloss to my "wish" list! 😊
So pretty, happy to see someone get so excited about beautiful packaging as I do. 😊💕
Gemma - beautiful as always! Loved the hair style during intro. I will absolutely try the blush or lip gloss on my next splurge. Have a good one!
Thank you for your Hourglass review, you look gorgeous! I love most of the Hourglass products that I’ve tried including the stick and blush.
Thanks Andrea. There are a few vids with my mum in coming up....she's been away too long xxx
I've done a review on the Kat Von D Lock It Foundation Lori. It's in the 'Foundation Review' Playlist xxx
Love Hourglass. Immaculate foundation and arch brow gel are lovely.
Ordered the blush in Mood Exposure. So excited!
Such a pretty and soft look. Your hair is looking great too!
Your hair is gorgeous! I will have to live the Hourglass life, vicariously through you. I love how giddy the compact made you. I was cheezing (big grin) myself.
Well done Gemma, very informative as usual will check with you before I buy anything 💋 xx
I love love your hair parted in the center!!! You look beautiful that way too! It’s different but adorable!
Thanks Sally xxx
Thank you!
Great video! Definately interested in the powder video with both you and your mom!
I love the bareminerals barepro concealer as it doesn't crease and blends great for me. I set it with the defused light underneath the eyes and the peach light on my inner corner because at 50ish that's where I'm grey blue.
Very nice! The blush is gorgeous! I’m a lipgloss junkie so that’s one I need to try.
Huda Beauty Nude Palette Nellie xxx
We are about to get physicians formula in the uk....as soon as it lands Ill do one xxx
On your excitment and recommendation I bought the ghost palette and did use it for face and eyes with great success! Worth the $$
I actually tried the Liquid Vanish Away. Was not that jazzed about it but I also did not use their primer. Hmmm may have to try again.
Enjoyed the video but wish you had also tested out one of the ambient powders as well
That's on my list xxx
I do love them all, such a really realy nice makeup which I have been try ever.
i cannot wiat for a video of you and your mom!! Could you please revew primers too for mature skin?
I've added that to my list xxx
Does the primer work well with other foundations? So excited for you powder information video!!
I have a few high-end blushes I've been pining for, but can only buy one
.. and even then, I may not be able to eat for a week to buy one.
Thanks!
I have the same problem with IT Cosmetics and Maybelline Urban Cover xxx
I have the same problem with the IT foundation, I mix with YSL and its nice, but tends to be costly.
I found it really easy to take off. Isn't it funny that it reacts differently on different people xxx
I would love to see a review on powders!
Purple eyeshadow looks stunning on you
Hi Gemma, Love your hair 😍
I have two of the hourglass ambient light palettes and love them.
Xxx
Your makeup looks flawless! Very pretty!
I’ve heard that the Makeup Revolution foundation stick is a dupe for the HG foundation stick. Would you consider doing a comparison? I am really loving your full face videos! 😊
I'll write that on my list, but I'm not sure it's that much of a dupe. xxx
Or just could just try and let us know here rather than do a whole video! Thanks😊
