It just hit me that DiMA says "Im sorry" still staring at Avery, almost like trying to apologize to the Human Avery, and the Synth that became Avery, as well... What a sad, peculiar detail
I think you missed the synth preparation for tektus. In the same room as Jule, there is a synth with unique dialogue saying,”glory to atom! Haha” among other things. This is before you kill/exile tektus. He tells you he’s replacing tektus.
This game is amazing. Despite all his quirks, DIMA acts like a human, "choosing to forget" what morally hurts him, but in a such convincing way that you can understand he's a machine. I wish more TV shows had this much emotional strength.

@@DarkSeraph95 did the missionary pull a gun on Allen? Did they harm Allen physically in any way? No? then it's technically murder, Allen killed an unarmed man simply because they hurt his feelings. Threats do not give justification for murder, you can't kill someone just because they say their imaginary friend is "going to make them pay" one day, if that was the case then I would be fully justified in putting a bullet in those annoying street corner Christians who berate people by yelling that they're going to hell and that jesus is the only way to "salvation" as much as I'd like to do that I know and I'd hope we all would know that action would be considered murder and I would go to jail for it not mention it's immoral, which is why I wouldn't do it.

There's actually a third miscellaneous option. If you side with the Railroad you can actually tell Desdemona about Acadia. I won't spoil it but it is a option.

Oh I remember how my evil Institute build had deal with all the dlc: Acadia reclaimed by Institute and then no witnesses... Division, Far Harbor and all the robots underground destroyed and Kasumi died in Acadia The Island was cleared by human, synth or robot presence
Honestly, I had the same feeling by the end. I tried to justify it, but it left a poor taste and I refused to touch Far Harbor again for a year or two. I think Ox is the reason I decided to go back to the dlc. I like it a lot more now thanks to the raw emotions it creates.
I was fully aware of it, The choices were Mass homicide Fratricide Or hypocrisy All terrible choices, chose the 2nd option low death numbers, and little moral compromise . I have little forgiveness for bodysnatcher tactics.
High Confessor Tektus is immune to radiation. Synths are not. If a suddenly peaceful Tektus were to lose his immunity at the same time, how would that go over with the Zealots?
This episode gave me an idea for a shirt design that I'd love to see in your shop... It's like your shirt that says "Now I am become death", but instead of Nick, it's the Sole Survivor and DiMA in the foreground, with an ominous image of the Nucleus in the background, and below them it says "Look upon our works ye mighty, and weep". (Using the quote from the poem "Ozymandias" to reference what you potentially could have done to Tektus to create peace. (By that, I mean replacing him with a synth)) Just an idea, I'd love to see it made though.
On one of my dozens of Far Harbor play throughs, I saved and killed Allan Lee. It was easy, he only talks a big game. A blowhard, and those kinds always fall down easily. Unfortunately the rest of the hull (its not a town, its a hull) attacks. So I killed them all. Then restored my save and just whistled to myself while Allan Lee acted like the asshole he is.
10 months late, but those laws may only apply if you kill someone from Far Harbor, that is, if you kill someone from Acadia or the CoA, the people of Far Harbor will not do anything to you, even if Allan killed him in Far Harbor, he was not an inhabitant of their community

In my game, DiMA paid for his crime, I killed the CoA before I made it to Acadia (those rat bastards can't be trusted to not destroy Far Harbor), and Kasumi went hone where she belongs.

This quest is a bug to me..when I told dima to confront his crime at the people of far harbour he didn’t appear in far harbour same with captain Avery so until now every time I go back to far harbour all of them were just standing there
Dima is one of the most intelligent and passionate/compassionate beings in the entire game and yet according to the institute he is nothing more than a lowly robot, just scraps. A throw-away. Limited in capacity and mindless. Dima is absolutely mind blowing to me. It’s very clear that he is a Christ-like figure.
This DLC was great. I wasn't too happy with the main story, but this DLC brought back that bittersweet feeling of mucking through everyone's choices and clashing with the convictions of factions that I hadn't felt since New Vegas. I ended up Nuking the children of Atom, after hearing that information, and I brought DiMa to justice. Sure I didn't get much in the way for items for that, but I wasn't really in it for the items, I just wanted to see everything to the end, and hang out with valentine.
I find it utterly ridiculous that you can't use the fog condensers as a reason not to take out Arcadia since without Faraday the condensers will eventually break down.
I had No Idea there was a way to see DiMA in Far Harbor! Nor that Tektus could be replaced!! (Still watching the video)🤯 great work and story as always Ox!

If you agree to help DiMA replace Tektus and let him get started on turning Cole into Tektus and then go blow up the Nucleus instead and then go back to DiMA, he'll be angry at you 1) because he just turned Cole into Tektus for no good reason now and 2) because you just murdered all the Children of Atom.
This is not really murder seeing Dima is not human, and seeing Avery was just like Alan, the real Avery may have tried to make war with Acadia. So Dima assassinated the leader and replaced her with a synth that would not be hostile to Acadia. See synth Avery is one of the only characters holding Alan back from destroying Acadia, so preventing a war with Far Harbour and Acadia. So human Avery may have gone along with Alan leading to the destruction of Acadia. See this is war tactics Dima didn't commit murder, he killed a hostile and replaced it with a friendly who kept Far Harbour from turning on Acadia.
As someone who still questions their faith to this day it is interesting to think about what Confessor Martin went through. Fat existential nihilism is a difficult thing to get through with your self still intact, if you let it it could turn you into a monster.
Been playing Far Harbor on streams myself. Easily my favorite DLC in this game. Wish there was more to it, honestly. It's pretty great the way it is though. I'm about to do my first Brotherhood raid of Acadia. x_x
I agree... I sort of wish far harbour was the main game, you know? So the children, the harbour, and Acadia were just as big and fleshed out as the brotherhood and railroad from the base game. The factions just seem more well done fundamentally and the atmosphere is incredible.

Only thing I feel the choice to turn Dima in lacks is that if you fail to convince far harbor not to attack arcadia you should have the option to turn on far harbor by telling them they will have to go through you first. This would update the quest to "eliminate the citizens of far harbor" resulting in the whole town turning hostile. Once they are all dead, Dima survives and chastises you for talking him into going saying something like this was exactly what he was afraid of. You can then choose to execute Dima yourself for his crime or let him go back to arcadia. Afterwards you can talk to the children of atom and they will reward you the same as if you had used the kill switch. Not sure I or many players would intentionally choose this option but I feel it should be there just because there isn't any reason you wouldn't be able to save arcadia by wiping out far harbor first in that situation.
I feel like In X-01 you could just muscle them down, if they attack Acadia you attack them. Simple. But I was with the institute, replaced the high confessor then reclaimed the synths after Kasumi goes home.
I call BS. DiMA reveals that there is a synth replacement in Far Harbor, but no one bats an eye about it, and the town does not go on a witch hunt to find the infiltrator? That is some grade A plot armor there.
the sole survivor is the reason the town acts that way via their persuasion attempts, its ultimately you the player that changes their behavior so I don't see how you think its "BS".
@@burstlight7 It is BS because they know after DiMA confesses that there is a synth among them. Even the moderates of Far Harbor are still scared of Institutes/synth replacements. So them doing fuck all after finding out there is a synth among them is indeed bullshit. At the very least there should be at least a minumim/moderate amount of suspicion of every member of Far Harbor towards every other person living there.
@@LeeBuddy The people in Diamond city are hyper sensitive when it comes to synths because of The Broken Mask Incident. I don't expect that level of paranoia, but after finding out first hand that the is a synth among them, and that that person was killed and replaced by DiMA there should be a very large seed if suspicion planted.
I really like how Far Harbor makes you seriously consider your choices, and how at times there's no easy "good" choice. Fallout4 lacked this in many parts of the base game (not nearly as badly as Fallout3). What DiMA did is morally wrong, and what many of us destroyed the Institute for. Yet High Confessor Tektus is an immediate threat to everyone on the island. Including his own flock. In my opinion, replacing him IS the best option morally. Especially if the synth that replaces him consented.

DiMA had an amazing voice actor. DiMA is so underrated as a character. He only has peace in mind. Hes not bad he's just misguided

Only thing I feel the choice to turn Dima in lacks is that if you fail to convince far harbor not to attack arcadia you should have the option to turn on far harbor by telling them they will have to go through you first. This would update the quest to "eliminate the citizens of far harbor" resulting in the whole town turning hostile. Once they are all dead, Dima survives and chastises you for talking him into going saying something like this was exactly what he was afraid of. You can then choose to execute Dima yourself for his crime or let him go back to arcadia. Afterwards you can talk to the children of atom and they will reward you the same as if you had used the kill switch. Not sure I or many players would intentionally choose this option but I feel it should be there just because there isn't any reason you wouldn't be able to save arcadia by wiping out far harbor first in that situation.

He did a Skyrim lore once and it doesn't really work out, he said in one of his scotch and smoke rings episodes.

It would have been a cool thing to have monsters occasionally attack far harbor and you would have a miscellaneous quest to defend it or something
I feel like In X-01 you could just muscle them down, if they attack Acadia you attack them. Simple. But I was with the institute, replaced the high confessor then reclaimed the synths after Kasumi goes home.

I call BS. DiMA reveals that there is a synth replacement in Far Harbor, but no one bats an eye about it, and the town does not go on a witch hunt to find the infiltrator? That is some grade A plot armor there.

If the town was ignorant/paranoid about synths like people in Diamond City, then what you said would make sense.
But they aren't.
the sole survivor is the reason the town acts that way via their persuasion attempts, its ultimately you the player that changes their behavior so I don't see how you think its "BS".
@@burstlight7 It is BS because they know after DiMA confesses that there is a synth among them. Even the moderates of Far Harbor are still scared of Institutes/synth replacements. So them doing fuck all after finding out there is a synth among them is indeed bullshit. At the very least there should be at least a minumim/moderate amount of suspicion of every member of Far Harbor towards every other person living there.
@@LeeBuddy The people in Diamond city are hyper sensitive when it comes to synths because of The Broken Mask Incident. I don't expect that level of paranoia, but after finding out first hand that the is a synth among them, and that that person was killed and replaced by DiMA there should be a very large seed if suspicion planted.

I really like how Far Harbor makes you seriously consider your choices, and how at times there's no easy "good" choice. Fallout4 lacked this in many parts of the base game (not nearly as badly as Fallout3).
What DiMA did is morally wrong, and what many of us destroyed the Institute for. Yet High Confessor Tektus is an immediate threat to everyone on the island. Including his own flock. In my opinion, replacing him IS the best option morally. Especially if the synth that replaces him consented.
