- Machinery Pete interviews 95-year old Harold Brock of Waterloo, IA. Brock went to work for Henry Ford in 1929 as an apprentice and went on to be the chief design engineer on both the iconic Ford 9N and JD 4020 tractors. Brock worked side by side with American legends Henry Ford, Thomas Edison and George Washington Carver
I was fortunate to meet Mr Brock through the Ford Fordson collectors association. I heard many stories from him. The Ford history that he lived through was amazing. The depression, ww2 when ford built airplanes and jeeps. The deal with Ferguson. The selectospeed which he ultimately left Ford over. I’m really glad someone captured some of this history. Orion Samuelson did an interview with him too.
Thanks Pete... Harold is 95.. What.. What a blessed man.
A true unsung American hero, rip sir.
Great stuff. IMO it would be better to hear this historic interview edited so we just hear the questions and Harold's answers and stories.
Thanks for watching
Harold passed away last Sunday 1/2/11. Glad you were able to post this interview.

They need to make a statue of mr brock and place it in front of deere head quarters! His skill and leadership helped make john deere a leader in farm tractors!
