@@adriannunez8868 massive. You can’t fake the 303 mfx12. Vinyl sim overrated. The butter=12 and, nothing to this day can mimic it. Not goodhertz, not the sx, not the mkii 303 vinyl sim etc. nada comes close. It’s pure silk or butter whatever. ✌️
@@marantz1 nahhhh that’s not even hearing it for real though. Trust me, you could not be a beat maker and, still buy this just as a compressor if you were stupid rich or something. It’s worth every penny.
One thing that no vinyl sims gets right is the clicks. They sound so inauthentic that it becomes cheasy sounding 😄 I prefer using samples instead and then let them loop. You can be creative with that and make it loop in a certain way to become part of the groove 🙂
In the next episode we'll be looking at the Boss SP-505. If you have questions about it, let me know here so I can address those. Thanks, as always, for watching. See you next time.
The question is, why is it that only the 303 has been used by the greats, or put to use by them? The only real difference among all the models is their particular sound. Yes, there’s improved functionality over the 202, but the 404 goes even further…Also it should be noted that these rarely come up for sale, a fact that tells you something about the value they hold for their owners. The magic dust is clearly in this one, something you seem incapable of hearing.
The (sometimes annoying) SP workflow is worth it on the 303 because everything sounds so nice... Not so on the 404sx (and to a lesser extent 404og.) If you want bells and whistles there are a wide variety of samplers that lay waste to the SP line (for similar prices.) The added bells and whistles on the SP on later models don't make up for the loss in vibe, and I would recommend something like an MPC one all day over those. Love the 303.
I love my sp 303! Wish I had these youtube tutorials 15 years ago when I first acquired mine.
Great video, I love my 303. To my ears the compressor alone makes it worth every penny.
Yep, I like the compressor a lot.
Is there really any sound difference between the 303 or 404? Want to pair an SP to my MPC 1000 for effects. Cheers! And thanks for the vid!
@@adriannunez8868 Ricky Tinez has a video where he does a blind A/B. Give it a watch and decide for yourself :)

I think of it more of a retro compressor / pitch warble effect than an authentic vinyl simulator but I know what you mean.

I like how when he mentions the people who use it he mentions madlib twice
The producer so nice you mention him twice.
some differences in
memory cards and
sample storage are
worth to talk about
too, i guess? gr8 vid!
I want one so bad I use to apps to try and get that same sound, I’ve gotten pretty close in terms of timestretch and bass it’s weird .
