Some of the most cutting edge mixing and mastering techniques coming into popularity right now are utilizing side-chain - it’s really a blast once you get the hang of it! Happy mixing everyone!
Thanks much for the tutorial. I have been looking for a way to key a stereo source in the side-chain with pro tools. Is there a hack or trick I am missing that will allow for this special-use case?
Should be totally possible! Just send via a stereo bus (bus 1-2) for example and set to receive via the same bus on whatever plugin you’re receiving the side chain send with. Hope I’m not misunderstanding your question!
@@malcomowenflood I am talking about assigning the side-chain key (upper left of plugin window with key icon) to a stereo track. The only option I see available is for mono tracks…stereo tracks are not visible here. Other DAWs allow you to route stereo tracks to the side-chain path. I am not talking about the track that is controlled by the side-chain, rather the side-chain itself. Hope that is clear.
you should do a complete mixing video, those vocals sound so good!!!!!
