Before compressors in radio stations, they had "gain mixers" whose job was to ride the fader when the DJ started to speak. He had to be very fast and have great reflexes. These gain mixers were made redundant when compressors came into the scene in the 1950s and they lost their jobs.
Do u think the Side Chain Level parameter on the Fab Filert comp works like a wet/dry knob?? Is that what it is regarding the effect? Thanks for the video btw... it helped me a lot to understand side chain comp❤
