Agree 100% on the account wide stuff. Grinding reps, power systems, etc are time-consuming and while not inherently a bad part of the game at all the kicker is if I did it, then I should be done it with it. I shouldn't be expected to do all of that rep grinding etc all over again from square one just because I decided to try another class. Pretty much everything should be account wide; if I worked for it once then I shouldn't work for it again.

Honestly, I think most of the people who agree with this have it all backwards. In other words you're basically asking for a band-aid so you don't have to repeat content you don't want to do and the whole fundamental purpose of a video game is that you want to do it because its play not work. Play requires engagement and challenge that players can find enjoyment from doing and not just the value from completing it. The simple fact is that WoW outside of high-end raiding and PvP is a chore grind in a toothless boring world.

I just want more people in the world to quest with rather than have everyone dungeon queue to level up. Having players in the world actually makes it feel alive like in GW2. I'm actually surprised when I booted up GW2 how many players were hanging around the starter zone
Yeah it's trippled its player base over the past two or three years. Realy cool to see the old zones still with lots of people.
The secret is that in GW2 even at max level you can do stuff in the starting zones without sleepwalking through the mobs and oneshotting elites.

Completely agree, simplify the game. Give people back the time to make Alts, get tmog, attain mounts, do pvp. Rather than grinding out some sort of currency to progress the infinite borrowed power system for which there is no end.

I really wish and hope that they bring back that old idea that they had back in the day before the release of WoD, about making every class accessories that they level up with you as you progress from 1 to max level, like every 10 levels you get some things that are customizable like auras for paladins/dk/dh, quivers, bags for hunters/rogues, etc. They really gotta make the progress visible for the players, otherwise its just a race to max level, just to spam quests, dungeons, then mythic plus/raiding. Also, LFR should just stop existing IMO and they should make older content relevant by making every old raid/dungeon/instance scale available for timewalking all the time, not just n certain dates, people would be playing with their friends/guilds and even new players, etc to beat older content for cosmetic and relevant gear that can be useful inside the current expansion. The game needs to become a "gaming for fun experience" instead of a "speed run".

@@baronnashor158 np bro, first off he reignited my gaming life, which was huge for me as an outlet, 2nd off I’ve been working 40 hours so I can get a gaming set up and hopefully stream (not trying to get famous, it would be nice but just doing it for fun) and lastly he just gave me a way to deal with all the assholes in life, everyone who holds you back ect. Just say fuck them. But honestly he was just there when I needed him, I was in a terrible place and just being able to see him and look forward to having a friend even if he didn’t know I considered him a friend or if he even knew me
Hopefully this is an early version of drakthyr like what was shown in the Cata release cinematic for worgen. I do agree that the drakthyr need broader shoulders, thicker necks, and maybe larger heads too.

I just came here to say i've been playing casually off and on for 15 years or so and my favorite thing is pvp. I just want to be able to enjoy non stop pvp ques without raiding or anything as a casual player.

Even when you haven't done a dungeon before. No offence to some in the community cause i met friendly people but a big negative of the game is the community.
Asmongold i feel also had a big effect on it.
I seen a reddit post about how the wow players who went over to ff14 and when doing dungeons constantly apologised and explained when making mistakes. They just said it's okay and you don't have to worry and the wow player was shocked. People probably have issues from playing WoW man honestly shits sad.
The games made people so on edge that they behave in a defensive manor in other mmos. Sorry for the rant just coming from someone who's tried to get into WoW for so many years i realised it's not even worth it.

As a former WoW player/raider from TBC through WoD, Blizzards perspective about what they want to do in Dragonflight makes me want to come back back and try Retail WoW

I agree with you. I feel like this expansion has the potential to start rebuilding WoW to make it a better game for everyone. This expansion needs to walk so the next one can run. Also I am sure a lot of people have said this but more classes for the Drak'thyr please, I want a dragon hunter with a dragon pet, or even a drak'thyr druid with special dragon forms.

On a side note about removed systems... Reforging. They claimed that reforging your gear to adjust stats to a more optimized layout was "too difficult" for more casual players and that was the justification behind them removing it. At the time I took that at face value and while disagreeing with it I could understand the motivation behind it.
After legion, BFA, shadowlands? No, I don't trust that at all. They saw the engagement metrics drop off on raids because people didn't have to run raids over and over to get good stats on gear. They could compromise on BIS and still have something most of the way to BIS via reforging. The reason I think that? Look at how stuff is going now with game systems in the last two expansions. It's all about encouraging players to log in for an hour a day or more as much as possible. Time gating, busy work, and daily cycles of rep grind and resource gathering via stuff like world quests.
I don't remember exactly who said it. But WoW stopped being a game that respected a player's time. And it's become painfully clear that it doesn't respect player time in the last 2-3 expansions.

Well said, and reforging I miss so so very much, it's a system they probably kicked out permanently due to the fact that it keeps people from having to stay on and continue raiding, buying more subs like you stated, I really don't believe we will ever get to see it again outside of classic, RIP reforging :(

As some one who hasn't played retail since Draenor, Dragonflight actually looks like something I might be interested in. Will probably not play on release though, gonna let everyone else beta test it first.
Max lvl pvp gear from the beginning is something that guildwars 2 did before as well. There normalized pvp stats over there, so not even the lvl matters. Just create a character get it to lvl 3 jump into pvp. You have access to all the the skills your class has to offer and you can try it in pvp before you decide what class to lvl up.
Blizzard needs to bring back 1 boss raids where mythic gear is relevant all expansion and its super hard encounter worth doing later into the expansion when everyone can complete the mythic version. This way its not only a small % of player base really doing the true hard content
I think OS in wotlk did this best. Going from 1 drake, to 2 drakes, to 3 drakes with the last boss, all giving addition BETTER loot the more drakes you have as a chance to drop was a really cool and challenging encounter that most players wernt able to down till way later on in Wotlk
Not happening for now. Blizzard need the gear grind to keep players logging in, since the game does not have content. They used borrowed power too to achieve this, but ppl got bored of it.
Looks like the community can endure the gear grind system, so they are using it.... Until ppl get bored of this too.
I hated the dungeons in Mists of Pandaria...MoP was actually the point in WoW where I stopped running dungeons regularly. Despite that truth be told, most everything else about MoP I honestly really loved. Its an expansion that flies under the radar I think when discussions come up about expansions but it was honestly a good one.

MoP challenge modes were awesome. I got the set from all golds on 3 classes. And all 3 raid tiers were amazing. My favorite expansion for sure.

You hit the nail on the head* with so many things in this video. My wife and I have moved on from the game since the beginning of shadowland. The game felt like work for us and was just very disrespectful of our time. By all means, we didn’t want things to be handed to us. A sense of accomplishment is so important in a game. But we also didn’t want to feel as if we were force to log in to keep pace of player power everyday. It was just not fun or feasible for us as we now have much more responsibilities in our daily lives. I hope they create a system where it makes content more fun and accessible for people in general. People will keep coming back if it’s fun, not because they feel force too. Unfortunately, it had to get to the point where people voted with their wallet for Blizzard to realize this and listen. In the end, even though my wife and I do not play this game anymore. We truly hope that it changes direction and goes back to its glory days. Ultimately WOW still hold a special place in our heart. Who knows, one day we might get back to the world of Azeroth.

I am cautiously optimistic for Dragon Flight. I haven't played since Legion, legion was a lot of fun but the eternal weapon growth and babysitting mission boards and the weeklies turned the game into a chore for me. And then watching as We basically got an anti-alliance expansion in BFA, and the story continuing the Horde only perspective I stepped away, and I look at the systems they brought in and I'm glad I did because I don't think I missed out on any fun, but I avoided a lot of chores and work.
Dragon Flight looks like they realized they need to pursue fun again, and are go ing back to class design and fun side things and focusing on that. Will I preorder? No. But I'll consider purchasing and returning after a few weeks of reviews.
I always forget how rational and articulate Zac can be when the Asmon side can take a seat for a bit.
Honestly being there in your stream and watching the reveal, it did renew my interest in the game. The different systems were so overbearing that it effectively pushed me into classic WoW because it’s tons simpler. Seeing retail head back to their roots thanks to community feedback it does make me so hopeful yet apprehensive that maybe I’ll be able to find the joy in it again.

One big thing I noticed in one of the interviews that nobody else has really mentioned was that they said there was not going to be any AP grind in Dragonflight, so there's one more positive point to look at. (Mentioned in Venturebeat's interview with UI Designer Laura Sardinha, Sardinha: "But no AP, no big things you have to grind... There’s nothing that’s based on AP or covenants that lock you into something, and then just a lot of grind.")
Also, totally agree that literally as many things as possible should be totally account-wide without restriction / limitations / gating. Reputations, Currencies, Renown, map exploration, feature unlocks, Flight Paths / Portals / other teleports, achievement progress (meaning essentially make all achievements have the blue banner), transmog (as in you should be able to get ANY appearance, regardless of whether your current char can equip it or not) - literally as much as possible should be account-wide.
Hell, maybe even all Soulbound items should become Account-bound instead.
(Also Blizz please make a deep sweeping pass over every usable inventory item in the game and make as many as possible into Toys, or into Quest Items that don't take bag space.)
Here is the thing, in this new expansion we DONT need ANY SYSTEMS. We don’t need legendary crafting, we don’t need corruptions, we don’t need heirloom weapons, we don’t need artifact power, we don’t need azerite power, we don’t need any upgradeable items or systems. For the love of god I just want to f-ing log into this game and get my drops from either pve and pvp content. I want items to be either DROP or PURCHASED. That’s it. I don’t want any weekly based systems that milk players for monthly subscriptions and require them to grind weekly homeworks to upgrade their gear. The game needs to get back to its simplicity as in vanilla, while keeping the fast phased gameplay of retail. I don’t want any systems, I swear to f-ing god I didn’t even went through any of the zereth mortis crafting or protosythesis bullshit. I don’t event now how do these systems work, and I don’t wanna figure it out by playing the unending dead boring zereth mortis campaign. F the protosynethsis mounts and zeret mortis mounts, now I switched to pvp with my new alt frost dk and I’m purchasing my gear casually, don’t even have neither torghast or zm legendaries and I’m not even thinking of getting them. I watched the live stream reveal, there are still shiit loads of people with nonsense ideas in blizzard. %80 of blizzard employees should be fired. What the fuck is dragon flying. I don’t f-ing care about dragon flying. Why the fck would I grind for being able to do a backflip with my dragon mount? Is this a f-ing joke? Diving and flipping with your flying mount. Is this what you f-ing came up with after months of brainstorming. Fck your brains and fck your game. Cinematic f-ing sucks. They added the action packed cut scenes at the beginning of the cinematic because it’s unwatchably f-ing boring and they know it. Ofc as wow nerds we will play whatever comes but if you are excited for bipedal retarrded lizards I feel sad for you guys.

How to make it the most alt-friendly.
- Max-level Crafted gear is ~3 ilv below Heroic Raid and can be sold on AH.
- Reputations are account wide.
- Conquest coffers can be purchased at a PVP vendor and are account bound.

I’m fine with just a simple expansion that has a few likeable features like Legion. I don’t think we need a full redemption arc expansion yet.
I don't know about anyone else but I genuinely prefer this side of him, makes great points, no bullshit just passionate about the game he plays. Great video, found myself nodding and agreeing all the way through! Fingers crossed this will bring the game back a bit even though the trailer was a bit underwhelming (compared to the previous expansions).
Covenants we’re like a cheap version of augmented skills. And then there’s a cookie cutter option for it too. If they can bring back some customisation back to skill/talent tree and put it in one place, similar to like it was back in Wrath but more creative trees and options. The potential is actually quite big, you could have a scenario where you have a little bit of freedom to customise your build and be a bit unique compared to other people who play your spec.
I'm just afraid that they will do some stupid, tedious progression system tied to the dragons that's locked behind the usual time gating. Like they said, they want you to upgrade it along the expansion to make them better and faster etc. I'm hopeful, but also I'm a bit cautious about the small stuff like that

One thing I've noted about the new profession system is that it allows gathering/gathering professions to shine more. Why get specialized in blacksmithing, jewelcrafting, and etc. When I can provide the mats including special mats and then just request an item to be made. At that point your just waiting for someone to make you that 5/5 quality item. I may be a bit off, but it seems like it will help some of the bots/gold sellers in that regard. But it's a good idea and I think it should be tried out at least.

3:55 Yup, I literally stopped playing BFA when I hit level 115 because it felt so awful to lose all your legendary effects while at the same times all the mobs in the world continued to scale up with your level and get more powerful. There should never be a point in an RPG where leveling up makes your character weaker.
Love the tree house 👊👊👏, yes the weather is gorgeous, humid, but gorgeous, I'm still on the fence about the upcoming expansion, it all sounds amazing, however still come concerned
Before i watch this here is my list of things they need to do.
1) Class overhaul. Compared to the new race / class and demon hunters etc the old classes feels outdated.
2) World building. Dragon isles should be about exploring, and give the players rewards due to exploring. Cosmetics, toys, mounts and gear etc.
3) Replace reputation with renown and make it account-wide. So you'll have plenty of renown rewards to farm.
4) Make the world feel more alive. Replace world quests with world events that rewards you through your contribution. (Like being sent on a mission into the cave to kill enemies and mine as much ore's as you can. The more enemies you kill or ore's you mine the higher reward you get in terms of gold, rep, gear ilvl etc.)
5) Remove LFR and Mythic raids, sell Normal raiding gear for honor points and Heroic raiding gear for conquest points. (even the same trinkets and weapons, just with a different tint.)
6) Player housing. No, not Garrison.
7) Revamp the old zones, don't even need to have all ready for launch. Just gradually patch in one zone at the time.
8) Make the world feel more dangerous. Force people to form groups in order to defeat the enemies.
9) Remove lvl scaling. It's an mmorpg and your character should feel stronger as it levels. The way it is now, my character feels like its getting weaker for each lvl. You're supposed to out-level zones to feel progression. You're supposed to able to grind more levels and farm better gear to be able to tackle difficult enemies in the world. It's not an mmorpg if you cant do these things.
10) Don't add catch-up mechanics. You should be playing the expansion, not the patch.
11) Make heirloom gear insanely OP again. The whole point of heirlooms was that they were a reward you could buy to yourself in order to make leveling easier the next time. (It's supposed to make leveling faster and easier for you the 2nd, 3rd or 4785th time)

I haven't seen the trees yet, and I'll admit that when I started the game we were at the end of BC and LK was going to change everything again... and since the end of LK it's been one cookie cutter best in slot regardless of what "power" we were balancing... how do we get the original back so that there's not a cookie cutter spec that decides who can and "should" raid, who can and "should" be allowed to get in mythic runs? I come and go from raiding because I am just tired of having a required list of addons and cookie cutter specs that cut off the whole rest of the game from me. There are the Darkmoon Faire Altaholics and there are the competitive content players and we're not allowed to overlap.
You can almost literally replace every time he says "Dragonflight" with any expansion since WoD and it would still fit.

Bro, it took them 10 years to have a customizable UI without the need of 4 different add-ons to do so. And then it looks like some fucking mobile game. An improvement, sure. But you can put a grain of sugar on a piece of shit and it would be considered an improvement. And the fact they are making it a selling point to Dragonflight shouldn't be something you're excited about.
WoW addicts truly are a different type of mazed. See, people who played TERA, BnS, RS3 and many other dead/dying MMOs at least had the self respect to understand things won't get better and move on to different games. And that is just after a few years. But for some odd reason WoW players cling to this idea that Blizzard is going to magically fix the game despite it being in a downward spiral for the past 8 years.
Stop treating the game like a lifestyle or a relationship that you can save if you just stick it out a little longer.

I think it's reductive to simplify the game's life as just a "downward spiral over the past 8 years." A lot of people, myself included, liked Legion. Legion wasn't the problem, it's been the copy-pasting of elements from Legion without developing them or in some cases making them worse.
WoD was not the first "bad" expansion, as many dropped the game in Cata and never came back (and for good reason). That's to say nothing of the issues a lot of the "good" expansions had that have since slipped into vague memories for most. In my honest opinion, WoD was far worse than BfA and SL. The back-to-back shitshows of the past two expansions is what has exacerbated their problems. It's definitely foolish to think DF will reinvent the wheel, but it definitely has the potential to be a significant improvement. Borrowed power is seriously the worst aspect of retail, and as that truly seems to be going away the game will be in a much better place without it.
Still, I have to agree with you about the relationship many have with the game. I'm obviously very passionate about it. I've played since TBC, before I was even 10 years old, so it's only natural to feel the kind of connection I do. But STILL. There are other games out there, to say nothing of, you know, real life itself. I always come back to WoW, but never-not once in the decade and a half since I first logged in-felt "forced" to play it. It's a game. Drop your subscription if you want, as I've done so many times that I've lost count. If you feel like coming back to it then, in all likelihood, it'll still be there if you do. It's not and will never be a lifestyle.
I just wanna know if the Evoker class will have a Legion Class Hall. at first i thought they probably wouldn't get one because Blizzard would have to make up a story for the class hall, and get some artifact weapons to go with it, and because there were no Dracthyr in the Horde or the Alliance at the time, and only the Dracthyr can play Evoker so it wouldn't really make sense, but the class halls are pretty important for the progression of the Legion storyline. if the Evoker doesnt get a class hall, then i don't think they'll even be able to play the Legion expansion, which wouldn't be the end of the world or anything, but i think that it would be kinda dumb, if Evokers, or any other class that gets added in the future, just can't play an entire expansion.
... Dude, Dracthyr start at level 58. There is no reason for them to go through the Legion storyline.
@@MidBoss2998 there is if you want to go get the Nightborne or Highmountain Tauren if you don't have them yet, or maybe if you just really like legion and wanted to go and play through it again. plus the Mage Tower is back, so you might need to play through some parts of legion to get to the tower, if Evokers even have Mage Tower challenges. im not sure if you would actually need to start Legion or not though, because i haven't tried any Mage Tower stuff yet, but if you do then that would also be a problem
It's so interesting how he singles out the last 3 expansions, I haven't played those ones specifically. I played Wotlk, cata, mop, and wod religiously and they were all awesome so I still hold the game in high regard, I can't imagine what it would be like to go on to the next one and have it be terrible 3 times over. I really hope they make the next one good

a big issue i've had for a few expansions now is PVP. in wrath and cata i remember jumping on excited to do my weekly honor and arena point cap to work towards that really cool weapon, i looked at it as a massive buff to your character that you earned, then working towards the 5 set each week getting excited to jump on with my brother and my friends to do the weekly caps it just felt like you had something to work towards and when you finally got it you noticed the difference and everyone else in pvp who where either on the same level as you or lower would be able to see the difference. i really miss the old PVP system with a vendor and a weekly cap it was such a good time, switching to alts working towards better gear and seeing the difference it made. instead of logging on and doing a bg and getting a box that has a random piece of gear in it.

I think this is the reset expansion that blizzard needs to get back to its roots and gives them a new foundation to start building on. It may feel like it's missing major features, but I believe it will be good overall and make the expansions that follow it, even better.

Dragon flight looks like a wannabe Guild Wars 2. Hell, the way the dragon boosts is exactly how the Skyscale and Gryphon boost. Honestly quite shocking that it’s so similar
It has been confirmed different body types will be available, it is just the one model that was available for the preview like male Worgen and Pandaren when they were first announced. I also think it would be cool though if the body types weren't tied to gender so you can further customize your dragon how you please. Personally I love the androgynous thin body type as I feel it matches the personality I have in mind for my character but I understand the appeal of wanting a big strong dragon.

The way I see it is this. Granted, I'm a FF14 player first and so my view on things is a bit more optimistic (because I'm super spoiled) but I think it is perfectly reasonable to be excited and interested in what WoW has in store next WHILE ALSO being skeptical/having zero trust in blizzard to deliver. Cause this is just how good will works, and the process of building it back up with people that feel burned. They are doing everything right in terms of opening the door towards getting good will back, and saying all the right things, but it's just the first step. It's a slippery hill, and once you slip you have to climb all the way back at the bottom again. It's going to come down to how things will go in 10.1, 10.2, 10.3, hell even the next expansion altogether. It's gonna take time, but I think it's fine to be interested in the things blizzard is showing off while also being cautious.

Copy pasting Gw2s griffon/skyscale mounts was a great decision, if they make the dragonriding feel even half as good as those mounts then they have a real winning feature on their hands.
Most likely they will fuck up the grind for it. GW2 grinds can be done almost any way you like it.
When it comes to dracthyrs I really hoped to see an actual dragon-form, I know it's not really executable bc of height problems etc, but why don't they design some sort of travel form in which you are an actual dragon (4 legs, not standing upright etc) since the dracthyr is an experiment from deathwing to combine the best of both worlds, why wouldn't we be able to shift into this form?
You would have the human like form, the fighting dracthyr form, and than the actual dragon-form for flighting etc.
Idk I just think it would fit the whole race, xpac etc so good.

Everyone complained about flight being there at the start so they gave it to us in the next expansion, but i just know its gonna be one of those things where your flight wont get to anything good until you 'improve' the mount, like skimmers in GW2 that cant get up on the mesas and so on until you fill out the masteries for them.
So you'll still be limited in where you can go, even with flight, until you level up that 'flying skill'. Just a guess, but i bet its gonna happen. I see several sideways steals of GW2 things in the new trailer footage. Gravity physics and barrel rolls are totally GW2 ideas from the griffon and skyscale mount.

My take on this is that Blizzard doesn't need to perform a 'grand gesture' with Dragonflight so to speak. I don't want them to try to make another Legion where they break all the emergency glass and pull out the biggest guns they can find. I say that mostly because I think trying to recreate Legion would be nigh impossible.
I don't need cool gimmicks to bring me back and I don't want them scraping the barrel to think of any, because they will most likely end up bad anyway.
I just want a good, solid expansion.
An expansion where I can just play and not have to worry about grinding a resource all xpac so I can get that one 'talent' and _hopefully_ have a spec that's actually fun to play in the last patch.
An expansion where I don't have to worry about basic things being unnecessarily timegated, such as the obligatory "complete 3 mission board missions" campaign quests we've had for at least three xpacs now.
An expansion where I won't feel punished for not religiously logging in daily. If I want to dedicate a day of my free time grinding the shit out of some rep then fucking let me, instead of locking rep gains behind a single daily quest. If I happen to 'run out of content' because I chose to no-life it then so be it. People who spend more time playing should be rewarded for it by getting things done quicker (such as buying that cool exalted rep mount).
In other words, I'll be more impressed by the things this expansion _doesn't have_ than the things that it does have.
I think many people including myself are sceptical and probably lost most if not all trust and some hope for blizzard.
In my oppinion dragonflight looks like it could be really cool, but which addon didn't?

For me, removing borrowed power wasn't viewed as a "feature." It was a bare minimum requirement. No matter how cool the expansion looked, if there was a borrowed power system in the game I wouldn't have touched it regardless. And that leaves us with the rest of the expansion. Essentially all standard stuff you can expect. Increased level cap (YAY /s) a new class and race, and a expansion specific feature (Dragonflight). Nothing there "WOW'D" me it just essentially met the bare minimum of what one would expect from an expansion and to be honest for many of us who have been burned so many times it isn't good enough, not unless they can prove they are taking feedback to heart.

Now i see this and it actually rises my hopes und interest, because that looks amazing. I think this gets boosted by a comparison, that i now have. Elder scrolls online new expansions content is a damn fucking card game. No classes, races, combat changes, thats it. Simply a new area, some story and a card game in a mmo no one asked for. Its like an Expansion and its only content is including pet battles. Then i see Wows expansion and damn, new class and race, all classes getting back skilltree even bigger then before, changes to arena, "new mount system". I mean, in comparison to other mmos thats fucking delicious content and could make the game fun again.
@@Painsjustice I don't really play ESO so I can't really compare. But keep in mind, we havn't had a new class since Legion, 6 years. So everyone really expected one. I know almost for certain the new mount system is going to be abandoned come 11.0, so it's just whatever. The other two MMOs that I played that have recently released expansions are FF14 and GW2. FF14 releases 2 new classes and a variety of new stuff to do outside of raiding. GW2 releases another new mount (WOW's new mount system is based of GW2) a new spec for every class, and new activities for people to do along with a new difficulty level for their version of instanced content. All in all, my main gripe with WOW is we haven't really seen anything that indicates stepping away a little bit from 100% raid focus. Big PvP changes? Changes to how open world is approached? I don't want to do Timeless Isle 2.0 for the 5th time again. If they finally released something like housing, I'd personally jump right in.

I like that they seem to make a more exploration based expansion and work on existing systems. Just overall the way they talked seemed to be moving in the right direction. But as I said in my main comment, if their promises really hold up... we'll have to wait and see

I don't think they will do account wide rep(as it is today), because they technically can't. It's why they have always given rep bonus items or rep bonuses for alts. It's probably a system thing they can't do along with the complexity of having alts grind the same stuff to level up instead of progressing. The renown system fixes this. If you get Renown 1-5 from doing the centaur quest, then you don't need to do that on alts if you don't want to. It also lets you do renown 6-10 on an alt and you are done for your account. It feels like its a good player solution to a technical issue.

They're making profession-specific armour. I'd love them to make a legacy loot gear set that you can earn and upgrade that gives you power and speed bonuses in legacy mode dungeons and raids.
I hope the borrowed power being added to talents means the mage tower will be easier.
And, controversial opinion, I think they should expand the Zereth Mortis 'gearing' system to effectively allow outdoor players to earn gear, buffs, bodyguards and other borrowed power to put them on par with heroic or even mythic raiders - after putting enough work in - and balance it by having all that power only function in the outdoor world.
Basically, like how the best gear for raids comes from raids and the best gear for M+ comes from M+, they should make the best gear - or at least an equivalent amount of power - come from outdoor content, but if those outdoor players go into a raid or dungeon or battleground they're only as powerful as an LFR or Normal raid gear set at most.
I think that would solve a couple problems, give outdoor players a more robust and rewarding progression system, and not make the other endgame types pointless to do because the gear from those areas can be used anywhere in the game while the outdoor gear is only as powerful in the outdoor world.
Asmon should try many different MMOs. He would give a life to many low population MMOs with his army and that would be exciting.
They should also make Chromie time aviable for first characters on accounts. I have a friend who wanted to start WoW and i try to help him when he has questions, so he asked me where he can start the game from the begin ? He cant do that, he has to do BFA trash, knowing not a single character, dont know what happens etc etc. I told him to play classic and well, that is way better for him and he also likes it. New player experience in retail is the worst thing ive ever seen in any game ive ever played.

after cata what i do is the following:
Buy the expantion> clear mythic + > clear first heroic raid in the expantion > Quit.
As someone who played from wotlk (just starting out) playing serious a bit more in cata and then really fulling playing in mop to hear asmon say it was a good expansion (while it mostly gets flak from most) was a nice change of pace cause mop is kinda what made me fall inlove with wow
Really excited for the new race and class. Hope they give them plenty of customization options. Some of my other favorite races like Nightborne and Mechagnome have a really small amount of customization which makes me sad. Also hoping to see racials that are more interesting than stat increases, such as vulpera's camp.

I think it's definitely true that Blizzard has gone the wrong direction as far as replacing alts with timegating for extending playtime. I remember back in Cata / Mists and even WoD everyone was playing every character they had for the server because there was so much to do. They weren't logging in every day or week to do their world quests or collect their great vault or whatever. In mists everyone was working on their anglers rep, farming cool mounts, working the timeless Isle, raiding, challenge modes, there was so much more to do throughout the expansion than just the barebones end game grind we've been given for the past few expansions.

You always give really fair thoughts, rather than 'expansion looks shit won't resub save your money guys' which seems to be how a lot of people tackle the 'discussion'. The thing I can say I am most excited about for Dragonflight is the theme, it's going back to WoW fantasy setting and hopefully they will be carrying the good things forward like you say about the talent trees. Am I expecting it to be the greatest expansion ever? No, because I will always have my reservations. I just hope Blizzard proves me wrong, because I WANT it to be, I just won't immediately set it on a pedestal nor will I kick it in the shit until I try for myself.
