Tape works great , I have also used strips of plastic cut from things like a butter tub or ice cream bucket to serve as a shim. Again keep up the good work
Nice simple fix i use a plumbers gas torch to burn off the carbon heat it up red hot only takes a few seconds its a shame the guard didn't fit doesn't look like its had much use either nice to see Riley helping 👍
i got a similar tanaka trimmer mike the only thing i had to repair on it was the fuel lines and clean the carb and replaced the on and off switch and to get it started the bad fuel gunks up every thing bro great video bro
Nice to meet you Mick! I dare say I burn up 3 of those things every summer! Tried various brands to no avail! I end up buying a new one over and over as there is not a small engine shop around me. So I think its time I watch a few of your channel and try to do something to salvage something LOL Must have 10 of those in spare parts out back now HaHa Yeah I suspect most of my issues is the carb on most!
Great vid, Mick! I like the way you re-use bits. I do the same thing. Wife always asks why I keep things. I tell her it's because sooner or later, me or someone else is gonna need it. 99.9% of the time, I'm correct. Have a good one, Brother!
Good fix Mick. About 100 years ago I used to sell and service Husqvarna gear and at least in this parish Tanaka gear was very well regarded especially amongst commercial guys. I seem to remember it being blue or green so maybe it's not the same manufacture anymore. Happy Halloween to the Reilly fella 👍
Love your channel. Ty for sharing your tips and tricks. I appreciate your time and advice Mick. You are a fun and informative channel. Happy Wednesday from NY State 👍🎃
Great video Mick. Its always nice to have a easy fix. Ever heard of donyboy73 or Steve small engine saloon channels? Just a few channel in America that I know off at the moment. Maybe they can be helpful for you.
Hi Mick. Great to see you again. You are pretty handy with them tools.

Tanaka, a brand that I love in my gardening business, great tool you fixed there Mick.
Well done.
Nice quick easy fix👍. Cleaning the spark arrestor. I did hit the like button 😊👍

Ta mate thanks for the comment and support
If the spark arrestor is bad , could the exhaust port on the cylinder also be checked for carbon build up .

Can you do away with the spark arrestor?
Yeah you can. But need to be careful as it may start a fire in dry conditions

Don't forget to add tags to your videos especially the #smallenginenation one.
It’s not a bodge mick it’s using your intelligence
Making a shim great stuff
Thanks mate for you on going support
Perfect shim yes, gaffa tape will stop it from slipping and moving due to the high grip, unlike the proper plastic shims ya can buy!
Spark arrester Mick not spark plug arrester.
Sorry I stand corrected
Let's not make any life changing mistakes again Mick. My whole family was nearly wiped out because of this mistake. Absolutely unforgivable!
@@bobbelsekwol what mistake mate
