I bought this model at a yard sale for 20 bucks as is not running. The guy said it ran but quits after it runs for a while. He said he only used it few times. It looked new inside and out. I got it home and looked it over and found the fuel filter/clunk fell off the fuel line and the stopped running when the gas fell below the level it broke at. Line looked like it dry rotted off inside. Replaced the line and runs like new.
if its flooded i would let mine settle a bit then try again i had this issue with mine once and the fuel line were ruined or it could be a carb cleaning issues
The gasket between the carb and engine is very important. The pulse hole from the crankcase to the fuel pump in carb is sealed with that gasket. Without it the carb fuel pump may not work.
@@TheGreasyShopRag Okay thank you very much for taking the time to answer my question. I will order a new part and be more careful when taking it apart again not to lose anything.
great vid.. I have 122l must be 20 years old...Im thinking an after market carb but I know it is risky..Everything is likely dried out. Any thoughts. Thanks, Cliff
Sheared Key on Flywheel THIS IS another one I would have missed for sure. I would have blamed the carb then twisted all the adjustments screws for 2 hours then taken it apart and soaked it in something for two day then decided the whole cab was bad and bought a new carb which still wouldn't work. Then I would have got drunk and cursed china 🤣
That's a pretty crappy design, but it probably saves them a few cents per unit. I've always wondered about that Trufuel stuff. I always use premium gas that's ethanol free and added a stabilizer in stuff like my generator or mini bikes. I've had fuel stay good for a couple years or more.
I've had good luck with the husqvarna branded fuel, and bad luck trying to stabilizer regular fuel. If you have a system that works then stick with it is my motto.
Did you watch the whole video? I showed you that the flywheel key was sheared. I also had spark every time I tested for it. Why would you think its the stop switch?
You do not show how the gas line go on the carb. I got a 122c basically someone tore the carb off no gas lines or gaskets I bought a new carb. and gaskets. and I don't know if there 1 gasket on the carb. or 2 and I do not know how to hook up the gas line there is 3 gas lines coming out on the 122c. I got it together and got it started with started fluid. yet It won't stay started. putting the gas line in the tank don't know the distance. the fine specs. can you help. if ( knew the specs I would get it running like 5 minutes. not paying someone $100.00 just to put gas lines in right. That called stealing. I did all the hard work. some creep comes by and get it runni9ng and then si he thinks he needs a pat on his shoulder NO. I did it not him. yet IF you can help me FREE i would thankyou. That's ALL.
Three fuel lines come out of the tank. one is a vent line and has a vent assembly attached to it. it does not connect to the carb. one line is a return line. It connects closest to the primer bulb. The final line has the fuel filter attached to it and there is only one place left it can go. There isn't a gasket between air filter housing and carb but there is one on the engine side of carb. Make sure the tiny impulse hole has a matching hole in the gasket.

Good job giving a $20 trimmer new life!

IGN Coil Firing At The Incorrect Time 😩🥵😩 Bad Coil or Sheared Key on Flywheel
Thank you for the video. It has been very helpful. Question: I lost the gasket when taking it apart. Do I really need one?

If you want to replace the carb then aftermarket is your only option as the original is no longer available.
Mine would not start because the fuel line fell apart in the tank so you have to break it down to get the tank out.
Bummer. Thanks for watching.

The more you do the easier it is to spot. Having said that, there are plenty of times I've removed a flywheel only to find a good key.
What usually is the problem when you go this far and the key is good ?@@TheGreasyShopRag
@@24BLUEELMO Flooding from carb problems, no spark/wrong timing, Plugged exhaust screen, massive air leak in crankcase.

That machine looked new. Was that a warranty claim?
No, It just looked like new.
The timing key no good?
Broken/sheared. I can't even find pieces of it.
@@TheGreasyShopRag I’ve seen it so many times
Buenos días
Soy mexicano una pregunta
Mine is doing the exact same thing
If you've eliminated all the other possibilities like I did in the video then it may be worth the effort to inspect the flywheel key. Good luck.
A new stop switch probably was the issue

Because there a shit weed-eater with defective stop switch’s
There know fpr faulty stop switches thats the worst machine Husky made @@TheGreasyShopRag
Timing key casted into the crankcase no thanks! Probably a cheap casting as well I’ll stick with my 326ls
I'm pretty sure the 326 uses the same design.

Built in key. What a terrible design. Anyway for Husqvarna to make a few more bucks from its customers I guess.
Agreed. I'm not a fan of that design.
