How great it is to see a truck with square air filters still working hard.
Nice smooth operator, dumping his load carefully into truck ,and not spinning tires and making a mess when filling bucket, all those bog monsters were sooo tough and lasted big hours even with rough operator s ,but with good maintenance and sensible smooth operator s they could run forever
Excellent video 👍👍👍
Old school 🎶🎵👂
that old Michigan runs great and you can see as soon as the turbos cut in
no more black smoke nice machine
Boy, that's some "Old School" equipment right there!
Two classic machines there.... those old Michigan loaders were bulletproof! Cargill still loads salt with one at the Lake Erie mine, although they just purchases a couple new WA900s...
As usual, another great vid PAMining- many thanks. Love watching these.
Best industrial channel on the internet!!!
Well thank you!
Great vid Justin! Those are some of my favorite old machines!! Thanks for sharing.
the 1710 was a good engine.. i love your videos.. you have a lot of the types of machines that i have skinned many fingers on! thanks for the great videos
I usually say this after each new video but this is one of my favorite videos to date.
Thanks for the upload!
awesome vid justin!!!
First A models had straight pipe exhaust,no roll cabs or AC with a 8 speed transmission. Man could we make noise and dust with the load and carry method.Love seeing these machines!
looks like in great conditions!! i like operate a old equipment very good sound!!
Yeah he's pretty smooth.
In sureb thought I heard a Detroit boff in the distance but I suppose my ears wanting to hear something. SWEET stuff and fine video, Pal!
@KHVEDOR The tires are full of air lol. You might be thinking of the Hydrair II Suspension that the Haulpak uses.
Thanks
Roche Bros in Oz had a bunch of these Wabco Haulpaks. Horrible bloody things.
Good video as usual , amazing where's all these old bits of plant working? Some classic stuff the old demags too
the pit that my dad used to work at had a michigan loader with a v-8 cummins. thing used to pop an engine once every month
Yes
@PAmining Ah I see, If im not mistaken there is a Cummins in the loader aswell?
@LasPlumasRangers That's a Cummins V1710C in the Haulpak
@mojostevo No that's a VME Michigan cab. Same style used on the newer L480 model
@redheadedduckhunter That would be the two Bucyrus 9W draglines from the 1940s. Actually those may be the oldest running pieces of mining equipment in the state.
Beautiful, powerful machines! I heard what the tires of this loader filled with nitrogen.
@sgtsahara No. Neither the 475 or the Haulpak are diesel elctric drive machines.
@KHVEDOR That's not true for all loaders though, that's an option. This 475 has air in the tires
Is that a CAT C cab installed on that? Looks like it, but I don't remember the C and D cabs having right side doors.
this Michigan is from the same era of the VME Group?
@canvids1 She runs good, only problem with this machine is the hoist pumps are shot
I always knocked it out of gear and hammered it to get the boom up while rolling back. Then I was ready to dump ot when I got there.
@LasPlumasRangers Yep, same engine
@PAmining As for the suspension, yes, that's a fact. But I know that the tires of heavy loaders are filled with nitrogen.
@Xx69roadrunnerxX Thank you! They are old
@snooptravytrav Thanks
Haulpak with Cummins.....so sad! But nice vid!! :)
Ok, an friend of mine had 4 Wabco 50 they all had 16V71's.
@2001yz250rider1 Thanks!
Whats the oldest machine this company owns?
Every Haulpak I was ever around had a Cummins
You could get the Wabcos with Detroit's or Cummins engines. Your choice.
What kind of engine does the Wabco have? Sounds awesome!
Nope, Cummins 1710 in the 475
do you have cat 797s there
No, not in this state
does the loader have one two engine
+Robert Jackson No it has a single Cummins VTA 1710C
Thank you
I'll bet this equipment has made someone or company an awful lot of money over the years..
Do you think they will ever get any caterpillar 994 loaders ever in your area?
There are a couple of them here. One was just purchased and is on it's way.
nono GM V12 or V16
Who still carries parts for this old machinery?
Minnpar bought the rights to the michigan loader parts off of volvo a few years ago.
