- Deadpool's dance to the tune of NSYNC's "Bye Bye Bye" became a trend, with everyone trying to replicate it, and it turned into one of the fans' favorite scenes. But why does everyone love this dance and hate She-Hulk's, which was very similar? We answer that in this video.

I thought they had made up Megan Thee Stallion for this show. I had never heard of her before.

@thetramp123 the genre doesn't really matter, the scene clashes with She-Hulk's established motivation and desire to be taken seriously as a lawyer. All they had to do to fix the scene was have her be uptight while signing the contract with Megan, have Megan try to get She-Hulk to dance and be shutdown with some line about being a serious lawyer, then cut to a scene in a club of them tweaking. Then the juxtaposition doesn't break established motivations and might actually be funny

What's more, "Bye Bye" is the song Logan heard on the radio and angrily stopped during driving a car in X- Men 2, which adds another layer - Deadpool dancing on his grave to the song he hated.

Deadpool's post credits scenes has never been in line with the MCU. It's always Deadpool sneaking in one last joke in DP1 and 2, and it's no different in DP&W.
This is so Deadpool, always different from the rest.
In DP1 he straight up tells you who will be in the sequel so in a way it does set up the next film.

DP&W spent most of its time paying tribute to the past, making ruthless run of the present and generally saying "goodbye, it was fun at times." Cramming an ad into the post-credit scene would've felt completely out of place.
It isn't a post credit scene, it's the opening credits.
I’d like to add that Bye Bye Bye was a brilliant piece of comedic foreshadowing.
Back in X2, Bye Bye Bye was the song that came on Cyclops’ car radio and Wolverine cringed, like he was annoyed so hard it hurt.
We know going into the film that Deadpool is going to annoy the shit out of Wolverine.
So the song apparently being a favorite of Deadpool’s is like a double whammy to Wolverine and it’s hilarious.
Not only that but it's a throwback joke to the Celine Dion song for DP2.
He loves it but feels Celine goes too hard. "You're at an 11 but we need you at a 5"

For me Deadpool's dance was so funny because he doesn't even take himself seriously. It's his way of saying "I'm brutally murdering these guys and dancing to a great song" lmao
Alternatively, it's a 4th wall break. That's just what's going through Wade's mind while he fights the TVA. Only the fight is actually happening to the rhythm of the song in his head.
Fun fact: He ballet danced in the MV of dp2's theme song, sung by Celine Dion. Turns out, dp did it first, and did it better.

Nailed it! Ryan Reynolds understands the character and enjoys him. She-Hulk could've been just as good had she played the good humored 90s version of the character. Her actress being brittle and prickly and desperately needing to be a girl boss ruins the character.

That scene is pure Indulgence it's about sending a message of girl power, the two strong independent women dancing together to one of their songs and making a statement in the process. Simple, Deadpool is genuinely funny, and She Hulk tries to do a "How do you do, fellow kids" ahh moment.
and adding to the point about the dancing...twerking can be seen as just simply ugly. not everyone's a fan of twerking, let alone recognize it as actual dance. dp's dance, is actually a dance. it also mixes with some classic deadpool backflips in this martial arts fights so the entire scene is a balance of style, coolness, and fun factor. it's also fun to watch that scene alone. meanwhile i doubt anyone even care about those 2 twerking...

@@mariasol1545 I think its the masks tbh. Characters like deadpool, Black noir, and spiderman have humor that gets elevated when they talk with their masks on. Its something about skin tight masks where you cant see the face or mouth that gives off an uncanny valley vibe enhancing anything they do whether that be something creepy or being goofy like deadpool and black Noir. Deadpool wouldn't be nearly as funny if he had no mask on.

I was never a fan of either nsync or the Backstreet boys, but I know that song. I was in high school when that song came out, so it was everywhere for me.
Also, I had to look up both the songs just to remind myself what they were. Bye Bye Bye is still stuck in my head despite having listened to only a few seconds of it before a few seconds of the other song. It's just a better catchier song.
She-hulk’s “dance” just made me uncomfortable, but the deadpool dance made me really happy, I never heard of the song “bye bye bye” until I watched deadpool and wolverine and now I can’t stop listening to it.

Deadpool's well-choreographed danced keeps you engaged, ready to see the rest of the dance _and_ what the rest of the movie has in store. If they're putting that kind of attention and quality into just the opening sequence, I can't wait to see the rest of the movie. Twerking on the other hand is just......no. The opposite of engaged, every second the camera is fixated on it is another second I'm grossed out and thinking about chucking the whole show in the garbage.

You're absolutely right about people not laughing at a joke told by someone they don't like. I tested that theory when I was a kid. Told a joke to a friend of mine who was more popular and he enjoyed it. We would take turns telling the joke to different groups of people, and people would always laugh when he told the joke, but not when I did.

I'm over 30. I'm a long time comic fan. I bleed once a month. I'm a leftist. I understand and recognise good representation.
And they flopped. They flopped so hard. What little representation they had was foisted in there by someone who had no clue what they were talking about. 90% of the jokes were about how she looks, and her endless self image issues. She came across as weak, scared and incompetent, which just isn't she hulk.
It absolutely was not the diversity they tried to throw in. It absolutely was the writing, the lack of direction, the actors not caring, not even one person standing up and saying "look, having a woman standing in front of a mirror and crying isn't the peak comedy you think it is. Having a middle aged woman who just signed a major deal with a celebrity isn't going to twerk. Body humor mixed with body horror gives everyone the ick, and she hulk shouldn't be approached from either angle."
Not one person on that show had ever read a shehulk comic and it showed.
Everything in that show is bad. And don't assume that anyone on the "humans deserve rights" side of things think this show was good. If anything it was way worse for us.

Back in the beginning, they were a fun way to surprise the audience for what the next top secret project was going to be, but since Disney keeps spoiling that surprise with their ridiculous "road maps" at the beginning of every wave, that sense of fun anticipation is gone.

Honestly my friends and I loved the post-credits scene in Deadpool, precisely because it didn't hint at any future projects. And also that's been a thing for each Deadpool movie (well maybe except the first one, with Deadpool saying Cable will be on the sequel)
I agree with your points and I'm sure that the She Hulk twerking scene was just there for shock value, but to be honest, I'm a little tired of people comparing Deadpool and She Hulk at all. When you think about it, they only have one similarity and that's being satire characters who break the 4th wall. But other than that, they're different characters. Deadpool is a warrior who actively goes out looking for adventure because he's still a mercenary with some moral quandaries, while She Hulk is a reactionary character for the majority of her stories. Deadpool's struggles with his healing factor and love for Death make him interesting, while She Hulk comics are just sexualized. They're not the same.

Have you ever read a She Hulk comic? They're not good, but they only became sexualized in the past 15 years, prior to that they were safe, very very safe, almost child friendly in terms of aesthetic and plot thats how safe they were anyway. Very boring character imho, only liked her in 90's Incredible Hulk cartoon because they fleshed her out and made her relatable.

It just does, the same way the peacemaker theme intro dance fits right in place how it does. Somethings just works with a awkward yet still in depth character that doesn't take themselves too seriously but yet at the same time formidable. Whereas for she hulk most of the perception of her character comes from her lack or regard of just not relaxing - everything is so uptight, she puts up too much of a guard. Plus she's so "dark" - this show has more of a dc universe kind of tone it.

One is a very well-choreographed dance by a professional dancer. The other is a poorly-choreographed CGI character twerking.
And twerking is not a real dance.

She-Hulk suffers from petty writers playing the victim card to cash a cheque. She-Hulk should have been between before the Civil War in the timeline, and they should have gone with the transfusion origin route. Then have her borrow a page from the first Deadpool, but have a street-level hero. I know much about her comic version, but I think her only breaking the 4th wall in her Hulk mode would have been better than in both forms. Then, do a ramping speedster rather than ramping strength like Hulk to further define them.
Deadpool's mix of dancing and fighting gave me major Dante from Devil May Cry vibes , and I love that series.
