The other day I kept a three lander and proceeded to draw 8-9 lands in a row. Needless to say, I lost. 😂
The worst I had so far was in timeless a few weeks ago. I drew 13/18 lands with 39(/60) cards left in my deck

Holy hell I feel you on those games. The flood and the perfects from OP happen to me all the time it seems.
I think when you were mono white the right pick there was Bartholomew over the compass and then following it up with join the dead into a very very good black/white deck either way it's very fun watching you draft and play
I always feel like Nummy overvalues the gnome. It's an Ok pkayable, better with synergy/splashes but I wouldn't pick it this high over a card like Bart.
That was a Magic game that happened and absolutely no bad beats to be seen.
So I’m hoping this is a good speed run and not a sad one…

Feels like WR was the open lane rather than WG (also Galleon is excellent in a vacuum and better with Glyphbridge), not that any of that would have mattered if you keep drawing excess lands while opponent draws excess removal.
I think that was a rough draft, with none of the usual suspects for white being passed to you, but I think maybe you undervalued the Aspirant a little as a strong two-drop that synergised with your Kutzil. It's easy in hindsight, but even when you were taking the red rare vehicle, I was saying out loud "But you saw no red pack one." You saw the Axejaw super late. Perhaps it was a dislike for GW that made you lean in that direction, but I think you could've stuck to your vegetables a bit more when it came to getting decent two-drops in the Aspirant. You passed like three and took one.
Anyway, don't mean to backseat. You're an infinitely better drafter and player than me ;)

This whole draft pod was either staying open til pack 3 or all playing 3 colors, all the good commons were conspicuously absent.
Super frustrating game. You'll get them at the next open with Manor.
4:00 Gemguard seems like better pick. Raw power of the 3 drop is higher but what you already have screems to go some kind artifact deck.

How good would it be if after draft is complete it showed a recap of all players and their drafted cards. Because I feel like I’m playing constructed decks after 3 wins.

I don’t know if I agree with passing mural, and personally I would have speculated on some blue cards at the end of pack 1 instead of the green fillers (white green is pretty bad anyway)
We could have ended with a decent Azorius deck with 2 wincons, good removal and 2 inverted icebergs
am i missing something, the attack at 35:00 seems unnecessary? could have just kept sitting back on the flier until they dealt with it or or they went wider since you already knew they had thunderhulk or w/e it's called. that attack also forced the wrath when you could have saved it a couple turns...
@@hassanabbas7051 yeah i agree about saving angel. i think green made sense when kenji first started going that way-i think given the signs blue should have been the choice for second color near the end of pack 1, and would have been rewarded with mural
i went back and watched pack 1 again, take back what i said about blue. tbh it was just a really bad pack 1 overall
@@hassanabbas7051you mean the "weird" attack by the opponent right? Otherwise it makes no sense. Also saving the angel definitely was the better line. Using the value of the puppie while you can and at the same time still have the mana for the whirlpool should the 6/5 axejaw try to race..
I honestly cant remember the last format where green/blue or green/white were playable. especially green/blue just feels miserable every format.
also: this draft felt like white was somehow the only open color, kind of weird. I guess we did see some good black cards as well, but not THAT many.
Shadows remastered had a good UG deck. Also UB is quite strong in vintage cube. It can also be ok as a multicolor base for decks in MOM or DMU

green/blue IF you get the whole merfolk-explore package is bonkers in ixalan, but if you don't, its not very good. it requires too many specific, high value cards to be worth trying to draft unless you hit the key cards in the first pack somehow.
in my first draft in ixalan i had two opponents who somehow had the whole merfolk package and a good curve, and i've never seen GU after that lmao

It hearts my heart to see u still stick to play 17 lands even tho you get manaflooded so many times. I learned so much from you but this i can't understand bc i want you to be happy while drawing... of course it was also huge bad luck but man u had like 3 cards over 3 mana - what do u need 17 lands for x) but maybe u know more than me - still got beats thx for the draft

@@myca9322 idk enough people hate on black in this set and when ya see join the dead pack 5 and then even ray of ruin which is not premium but getting it on the wheel is fine (sometime ya just gotta be able to kill something problematic)
i mean ive first picked join the dead plenty of times but i dont think it makes sense to take it over whirlpool there. it's better removal for sure, but both are mid & nummy already knows he's playing white
Drawing that many lands in Arena is extremely common, I have hundreds of pictures of it as well as videos. The shuffler is PURE PUREEEEE garbage. I think its designed intentionally to make you lose 50% of your games to keep it competitive and make you spend more money.
I hate Magic when you just draw lands. It feels like wizards is sometimes doing this on purpose as the odds for drawing another land get so low its like winning the negative lottery and still it happens over and over and decides games. Even games about money. Its extremely frustrating but moreso it IS boring af. In real life me and my friends converted to a shuffling technique that prevents it and the games are way more fun!
How do you shuffle?
I think in pack 1 , 3,4 and fifth picks weren't good from u. Why not Bartolomeo, He is decend and join the dead aswell...
