Hulmes is having so much fun with this character it's great to watch. Though I would love it if he ended up becoming Jingly John, world's most hated bard.
Hulmes: "What are we going to do? Do we try and escape? Are we going to fight our way out? Why is this duck still here?" Simon: "Quack" This interaction absolutely killed me
I am now certain that Mystery Quest is going to be one of my fav channels. Looking forward for the weekends in a whole new way! *This is a comment, for the Angorythm*
What makes this session great imo is Tom's ability to think on the fly and adapt to everything that is thrown at him with a "yes and" approach, as well as Mark being able to add a lot of flavor and support when it comes to running the game in general. I think this also allows Lydia, Ravs, and Simon to feel comfortable exploring their characters and options even if their characters are having a rough time.
Mörk Borg is just Swedish for Dimmu Borgir in Icelandic, Dark Fortress in English (Dimmu is cognate to the English dim, as in having a small amount of light, and mörk to the English murky or murk). It's the name of a famous Norwegian black metal band.
Another amazing episode. Wasn't entirely sold on Mork Borg until the end of the last session, but this one knocked it out of the park. Duke Bellsom's sword genuinely had me in stitches. Classic sentient item.
Gotta say, as much as I love Mark as a DM, i absolutely adore when he's a player. On top of that, having Tom as a DM is just *fantastic*. Simon and Big Lyds' synergy with Tom is fantastic too, and you cant at all go wrong with Ravs
We shall find Goblins on the beaches, find them on the landing grounds, goblins in the fields and in the streets, we shall find them in the hills; we shall never surrender!!
Really enjoying this and I hope the channel gets enough attention to keep you guys engaged. These shorter form adventures are great! Allows for some of the wackiness that would end up causing issues in longer form roleplaying games.
"Alright, Creepy Cardinal... Yup... Very good." Absolutely perfect picture in my mind of Mark blustering ahead while Ravs stares vacantly into goblin pyres. 🤣
That was rough! Early party getting a trip into goblin town. I think how the game is being played and the setting, it works out okay. It's pretty common for players to get almost wrecked by bad rolls. I'm interested in seeing where the adventure goes and who they are going to see next. Good game everyone, charge your dice for the next round.
Man as a GM for about 10 years now, my group and I have an understanding that while they can go off and do whatever the hell they want - I like my campaigns to be long-planned and with a clear end goal that the group can partake in throughout the game as they wish. For example I'm running Grim Hollow atm and the main threat in that campaign is an illithid colony that is omni-present throughout the story in the background, that will grow in threat as the party progresses. but the party can do whatever they want in the world while that happens. But as players, they have an obligation to at least go along with the stories laid out for them in a way they like. These games are about cooperative story telling with the DM as the main narrator and the party members all playing the Protagonists of the story. It'd be a pretty shit story if the Protagonists actively decided to ignore the plot or find ways to break engagement in it.
The annoying thing with it is they if he wasn't there, the story would probably be exactly the same. I'm not a fan of trying to ruin everything like that.
@@axe_decapitation I don't particularly mind Ravs. He can be funny. Though his character in this feels like the typical edgelord you see memed about in r/rpghorrorstories That said, I do think this group is weaker than the Call of C'thulhu group from the previous game. Fortunately, if we're actually getting these videos weekly, and it'll have a rotating cast, then it shouldn't be too big an issue if one game every few games has a mediocre group pairing.
@@brynjolf1128 I doubt he's trying to "ruin" anything. He's playing a gross appocalyptic filth-priest. What's he done outside of painting that picture? Attempting to avoid arrest by hiding in shit (didn't work) and attempting to win the favour of their judge (didn't work)? Your actions not panning out doesn't make you a bad roleplayer, particularly if it's done in character.
Very much enjoying this channel, it feels like a perfect sequel to the yogsquests. Amazing. Would love to see an edge of the empire campaign in the future.
So I’m late to the party. The role-play-strong ethic makes me happy. Everyone is invested in their personal hopelessness along with humour to buoy everyone at the table. Love it.
Just wanna say Ravs character is metal as fuck. Just an insane priest wielding the most unholy magic imaginable. That veins thing was insane. Favorite character this series by far lol
Looks like it's Mystery Quest M̶o̶n̶d̶a̶y̶ Saturday! The alliteration doesn't quite work but we're working on it, it's early days you can't expect there to be a catchphrase yet.
Ravs coming in with that Interrogator Vishas reference. I wonder if it was on purpose or one of those deep seeded memories bubbling up that we all have from wow.
Haven't left a comment until now on this channel (I don't think) but I just wanted to say that Tom's doing a brilliant Job as DM and the plethora of characters we have are perfect!

Man it would be real convenient if one of their party members was a shapeshifter, shame none of them have that ability
Nah, way too convenient
Hulmes is having so much fun with this character it's great to watch. Though I would love it if he ended up becoming Jingly John, world's most hated bard.
TBF the minstrels of Sir Robin the Brave are in for that title as well!
@@scythian12Sir Robin ran away!

You know the kinda session you’re in for when one of your members literally crit fails throwing a bomb in the first hour and explodes into meat lol
The shock the table had when Simon realized what the new character sheet was.
Simon Roleplaying a duck is the greatest thing ive seen in a very long time
Quack

Ravs deeply invested in his RP for 2 hours but just couldnt resist the "goblin deez nuts" line lmfao 😂
haha yes
The sound design is sooooo good! The judge yelling "Guilty, guilty, guilty!" in another room with the crowd and the echo creates the scene perfectly.
The rat part was so funny i love how witty tom is
I cannot overstate how happy I get whenever I hear 'Hello everybody it's me, Jingly John!'
🎶Jovial flute music🎶
@WildWestRaider IT'S TIME TO SING MY COMMENT SONG
I cannot overstate how much of a spectacular time this channel already is. Thank the dark gods for the Yogs RPG shenanigans finally having a home.
Glad to have this kind of content back after Games Night died for a while then transitioned to just war gaming
Is it crazy that I'm starting to love Jingly John? He's like comedic relief.
Mark's sword constantly berating them was hilarious XD
Hulmes: "What are we going to do? Do we try and escape? Are we going to fight our way out? Why is this duck still here?"

It has had a 100% hit rate, every video on the channel is a 5/5 banger
The Mystery Quest Channel is panning out real well so far
Yup, absolutely, more fun and gripping than most movies, really loving it.
I never knew what I needed in life was Simon roleplaying as a duck.
I’m loving this so far, Marks character so far is bringing so much chaotic energy to the story making it so silly and fun
This Goblin apocalypse makes a zombie apocalypse look like god damn easy mode

Agreed! It’s a great example of good DMing.
I love that the players add details to Tom’s descriptions and he’s like sure
Simon made some excellent well timed quacks.
Love how Hulmes is channeling Matt Berry in every sentence - 10/10
Fuck yeah, more mork Borg! I can't wait to see more of my favourite character Crunky Bungus!
Poor Lydia, hopefully she gets to do more next episode xd
buy that lady new dice
Yay!! The Disintegrator was soo good, this is just as enjoyable as well

Mark's response to 1:20:52 Ravs describing that Tom can just mess with him any time of the day. Absolute gold.

The added sounds are so great, loved this!
loving the channel, everyone is a joy to see and such a treat to see Mark as a player. Very Yes give me more
Absolutely love Ravs' character, that unhinged zealotry comes across so well. One of my favourit throughout the yogs rp content!
this is way better than we deserve
This is a lot of fun! Might be useful to have a small episode at some point just explaining some of the mechanics of the game
I wouldn’t mind a prologue for each new series like sn episode 0.
Basically reading the back of the box to us for a few minutes
Super fun to see Mark as a player for once! Kudos MQ Team, you are my newest go-to for ttrpg content.
Really enjoying this and I hope the channel gets enough attention to keep you guys engaged. These shorter form adventures are great! Allows for some of the wackiness that would end up causing issues in longer form roleplaying games.
Great job, everyone. I could watch full seasons of this Mork Borg crew. Keep up the hilarious antics. Cheers
The rat just running under the bars was awesome.
Had to check that goblin curse rule from the book and it is true! The curse is horrid!
Holy moly that was an eventful episode. I'll have to listen to it all over again to fully absorb all that happened. Such a good listen!!
Keep at it guys, this channel will absolutely blow up. It's comedic gold

What a pleasant new weekly occurrence.
Got me hooked with that binge, and now im back for colin
These are absolute bangers, goodness me!
The Intros are so good, and Mork Borg is super fun to watch!
I love how he used his order to make oily boy say hes a rebel instead of telling the guard captain to just walk away
Task failed successfully??
It only works on one guy and there was like 6 guards there who would definitely notice if he cast a spell on their boss
@@fugyfruit nah theres definitely some way to do that with the cap’n, tom loves his dicingness tho so it probly wouldve been the same presence checks.
