The Super Eagles aftermath of the 4-4 draw against Sierra Leone have been asked to go redeem themselves in the return leg fixture in Freetown. This charge was made to the team by the NFF President, Amaju Pinnick.

Now, looking at the shambolic performance yesterday, 3 of the 4 goals came from an inept Apkoguma on the right. Yes he gave his best. But, once Chukwueze lost the ball that led to the first goal, he was nowhere to be found. His role was vacant. Second was even worse. He was lost. Third goal, nightmarish. He couldn't block a cross that came in from a player he was marking. A more no-nosense Awaziem would have suited S/Leone. Always prepared for a Yellow card so long as you're going down or a tricky Aina who knows football is Chess - strategy rather than power. Fourth goal. What was Sanusi thinking? He passed the ball into the box after winning it. An interception occurred leading to the goal. He had a wonderful game and assist but for the last decision. A highly regarded Porto defender for that matter. Disappointing! In Midfield, Etebo wasn't match fit. At least I didn't see his authority as usual. The defence did a good job holding a high line, so why seat deep man, why? Roam, recover stray balls, distribute and create chances. Aribo's role was limited. Playing double pivot against S/Leone is like killing a fly with a rock or hammer. When the Midfield seats deep, the attack has more ground to cover, but when it doesn't, the opposite happens. S/Leone came surprisingly with a good tactics. Their fullbacks were tucked in. Spreading them thing made for a 4 against 1 situation. If our wingers tried exploiting the width which was open, then their wingers became wing-backs. Aribo and Iwobi where always, always checked. Please, this is becoming too long. A 3-5-2 formation should be used for the return leg. Send Apkoguma back to Germany. Ekong should be placed on red alert. Aina or Ebuehi should be RB. Awaziem can displace Ekong. He has no commanding impact or presence.

(Although few draws we prbly shud have won if im honest)... the team is 30 in Fifa ranking, we was 67 when he took over. Many of the fans feel like you guys don't know how to do your job. We have yet to see significant improvement in this team after many years of promises from coach. Coach. You have never played a balanced game since you joined SE. Its either your defense is useless and your attack is okay; or your attack is useless and your defense is ok. Yesterday, you played a useless defense and a good attack. This problem is with you, not the players. Your mind is not balanced hence you approach to football is not balanced. I will always support our SE players win or lose. The fault lies with coach entirely, because you are responsible for call ups and team selection. Obviously, yesterday's performance showed us that there are players who have no business with this team. It is now up to the coach to identify these players, thank them for their services and replace them with more capable legs. Yobo is an assistant coach with at least a decade of defensive experience. What about yesterday's defense indicate that Yobo is offering any value? Are you telling me that even after the opponent got 2 goals back, both of you (Yobo + coach) could not come up with a defensive strategy to secure the 3 points? Now, looking at the shambolic performance yesterday, 3 of the 4 goals came from an inept Apkoguma on the right. Yes he gave his best. But, once Chukwueze lost the ball that led to the first goal, he was nowhere to be found. His role was vacant. Second was even worse. He was lost. Third goal, nightmarish. He couldn't block a cross that came in from a player he was marking. A more no-nosense Awaziem would have suited S/Leone. Always prepared for a Yellow card so long as you're going down or a tricky Aina who knows football is Chess - strategy rather than power.
Fourth goal. What was Sanusi thinking? He passed the ball into the box after winning it. An interception occurred leading to the goal. He had a wonderful game and assist but for the last decision. A highly regarded Porto defender for that matter. Disappointing!
In Midfield, Etebo wasn't match fit. At least I didn't see his authority as usual. The defence did a good job holding a high line, so why seat deep man, why? Roam, recover stray balls, distribute and create chances. Aribo's role was limited. Playing double pivot against S/Leone is like killing a fly with a rock or hammer. When the Midfield seats deep, the attack has more ground to cover, but when it doesn't, the opposite happens.
S/Leone came surprisingly with a good tactics. Their fullbacks were tucked in. Spreading them thing made for a 4 against 1 situation. If our wingers tried exploiting the width which was open, then their wingers became wing-backs. Aribo and Iwobi where always, always checked. Please, this is becoming too long. A 3-5-2 formation should be used for the return leg. Send Apkoguma back to Germany. Ekong should be placed on red alert. Aina or Ebuehi should be RB. Awaziem can displace Ekong. He has no commanding impact or presence.

(Although few draws we prbly shud have won if im honest)... the team is 30 in Fifa ranking, we was 67 when he took over.

To the 200 million Nigerian fans, football is the very important to them. I will tell you the truth. Nigerians have completely lost faith in the SE tactical leadership. Many of the fans feel like you guys don't know how to do your job. We have yet to see significant improvement in this team after many years of promises from coach.
Coach. You have never played a balanced game since you joined SE. Its either your defense is useless and your attack is okay; or your attack is useless and your defense is ok. Yesterday, you played a useless defense and a good attack. This problem is with you, not the players. Your mind is not balanced hence you approach to football is not balanced.
I will always support our SE players win or lose. The fault lies with coach entirely, because you are responsible for call ups and team selection. Obviously, yesterday's performance showed us that there are players who have no business with this team. It is now up to the coach to identify these players, thank them for their services and replace them with more capable legs.
Yobo is an assistant coach with at least a decade of defensive experience. What about yesterday's defense indicate that Yobo is offering any value? Are you telling me that even after the opponent got 2 goals back, both of you (Yobo + coach) could not come up with a defensive strategy to secure the 3 points? Even if Yobo + coach are incapable of effecting strategy to preserve the 3 points, are you telling us that there is no single player on the field to rally the players to assume a 3 points saving strategy? This depth of poor performance tells me there is something off in the dressing room. It is your job coach + Yobo to fix it and fix it ASAP.
