Probably one of the easiest melts I've ever done with the pie trays but I did melt a heap of copper in this video as well. 1024 Aluminum trays from a local business who wish to remain anonymous for some reason🤷🏻‍♂️. Anyway a great bar to add to the stack as well as the couple copper bars I did as well which had almost the same rippled top you get with silver🤔. But most importantly as always have an awesome safe weekend and I hope to see you all next Friday👋🏻😁

I love the Aussie version of "local" business. For anyone not from Australia, a local business is one that is less than 50km away from where you live (100km in Western Australia).

I have a request: Since the USA is suffering from an egg shortage (and prices for eggs are currently through the roof), I was wondering if you would make a dozen Nordic Gold Eggs and put them in an egg container? If you think it's a fun idea go for it. Luv the show man!

It is just peacefull, calm, and reminds me of times where I was working outside with my father at our house. Where time stood still. It is a simple reminder that you do not have to have lots of things in your life, and that sometimes simple stuff like working outside and tinkering around is the best. You my man, are very lucky. I have scrapped copper before , unsoldered copper pipe is what we called 'clean' and soldered copper joints were dealt with as 'braziery' and we dealt with them seperately, it does make a difference to the weight value of the ingots, but I have been enjoying watching you work with the materials I used to deal with in larger quantities, keep up the good work , and thankyou for sharing it all with us :)

GAWD I love the sight of copper freezing in the mold. I don't know what it is, but it's something almost....metaphysical for me seeing liquid metals freezing into a solid form just like water does for us in everyday circumstances in becoming ice cubes. Either way, I will never stop watching this channel until the day BigD keels over on his workbench or otherwise decides to stop uploading videos of the metal melting sacrament. 💜

With all the extra scrap metals you have laying about in your shop and on your property, if you never visited the scrapyard again, and didn’t except any more stuff from your fans, how long would it take to melt everything you have on hand?

Old pipe definitely had silver solder brazing, especially if they came from AC units like those pipes did. Your silver contacts easiest way to do them is to simply cut off the silver contacts, then use concentrated ammonia to dissolve all the silver and copper, and then carefully plate out the silver from the copper, using a graphite anode and cathode, and adjusting the voltage, so the one material deposits out preferentially to the other. Slow, but will give a very nicel little silver plate on the cathode, and after you can refine the copper by boiling it dry, and smelting in a crucible with some borax and regular copper scrap.

"local" heh. Here in Tokyo, Local is literally what you can get within walking distance. Usually what is in your neighborhood. Even when I lived in the US, I never dreamed that driving for 30 minutes one way, would be considered "local"... even if a 30 minute drive keeps me still in the city.
That property you have is awesome, and I am so glad that it lets you continue to be great at what you do (I won't lie and say I'm not envious, my entire property would just about fit inside the footprint of your melt shed). Keep up the great content!
