This video Saved me removing the new windshield Cowell that I just installed on my W212 thinking I had disconnected something by mistake at the wiper motor. I was also looking for where the wiper fuse would be and it’s nowhere to be found. I Closed the door and hood and wipers work perfect. Kudos to you sir!
Even if I close the hood, the car sometimes has the red hood error and that’s when my wipers don’t work. So I just have to repair the hood switch. Thanks!

wow, brother, the open hood indicator marked me and the solution was that the button did not press well, I just adjusted the sheet that flattened it and that's it! Thank you so much

Good on you that you looked for information before just taking it in. Sadly I made this video because of those that have already thrown hundreds of dollars and days of time at this issue when its just a normal function.
Many thanks ! Car has been parked for months over winter, take it out for a 1km drive to pick up the mail, no wipers or washer. Got home and started to check, Mercedes didn't think it was a good idea to put a fuse chart in the owners manual like everything else. The chart is a piece of paper that comes in the toolkit, its a used car, no chart. Look online for that, find the fuse, its good. Find your video, Thankyou again ! I didn't have any msgs indicating the hood or door was open, but my hood switch can be flaky sometimes, re-close and msg would go away. The only other thing it might have been is I didn't put on my seatbelt the whole time. Closed the doors, did up the seatbelt, ffs, it worked. FFS.

Nah, if you don’t know, you dont know. 🙏. I work online diagnosing cars and this is a huge issue with people that work on Mercedes. So its easier to make a quick video than try to get them to understand what needs done. Often times when I tell them what to try they don’t believe me!

I use this trick when I’m changing wiper blades. I activate the wipers and as soon as they go straight up I pop the hood and it locks the wipers into that position.

What would cause a 05 S500 wipers to stop wiping in the "auto" position? - it works for a few times and just stops. once I turn off the wipers to the 0 position on the stalk, it starts back up. no issues on the constant and faster setting. could this be related to adaptions of the ran/light sensor?
Yes, this will either be a rain light sensor issue, or just adaptations of it if it has been changed recently. Same thing if the windshield has been changed, the rain light sensor need to coded to the windshield color. Thank you for the nice comments on my video. I appreciate it.

I tried to reach out through the website that you use when you uploaded that video but it doesn't seem to work I was wondering if you could help me figure out if that's the right scanner for my car and what car it would be under for that scanner

@@rebeccaperez5858 correct the adapter will go from the 16 pin rectangle to a round connector that goes to a round diagnostics port in the engine bay. Your model is a 170.

Maybe bad pump or multifunction switch, if wipers come on but no spray when you pull the switch that means that pump may be bad check for power and ground at pump, there maybe 2 pumps one for headlights and one for wipers
My wipers once turned on won't shut off even when turned off. Just replaced the turn signal switch and still doing it..only thing that stops it is opening door/hood or removing fuse
@@MasterTechLou sadly I was hoping that wasn't it as it's a much bigger expense. Also since i did my signal switch my ESP light is on and my wheel is out of alignment. Ugh

Should just have to use a scanner that can read the central gateway and code it for manual transmission but im not 100% ive never had to do this personally.

This isn't pertaining to this video, but there is no direct message link so here we are... First off, I have been L1 for 25 years and def know what I'm talking about with cars. That said F**K Mercedes. I have one of the most frustrating problems I've ever had to deal with stuck here at the moment and I have nobody to ask questions. I have 2016 Sprinter that ran off the road and tore out the def tank and a good portion of the harness. I rebuilt the harness and replaced everything but while I was doing it, the customer took car with spare key and returned it with the start counter on 1. I have Xentry but obviously cant do SCN programming because I have no access, so I borrowed a C4 and downloaded Vediamo and DTS Monaco. The SDConnect Toolkit sees the unit and Monaco launches and skips the 'where is your interface' screen so I know it sees it, but once I'm inside, it doesn't see it. I'm thinking maybe it is because it was zapped by MB and is bricked, but I don't know what the symptom of that having happened is and I cant see any clues on the screen of unit because the screen doesn't work. (Haven't tried pressing the check button on unit or anything while app is open because I never thought of that). Im running out of time and desperateAF. Now I am trying to decide if I should go buy this other guys shit laptop and his C6 which I imagine is also a clone (based on price), because apparently they are "turn key", but at that point it limits me to only Monaco and no Vediamo due to it being a C6 instead of C4. My questions are this. #1: Will Monaco do the trick on this Sprinter (906) . the reason I ask is because my Launch will actually clear a counter on zero on every other MB, but since this is a Sprinter, I don't even pick MB on Make screen and instead pick Sprinter and it wont do it. #2: Are you capable of doing it remotely through TeamViewer with any of the tools mentioned? #3: Does the C4 sound bricked? It has a check next to it in SDConnect toolkit but I don't know what its telling me because it is in German and #4: If I have the right Variant etc files, is the C6 and Monaco capable of fixing this problem? You can adjust them . With a pointy pick, they are small ball sockets and rotate easily. Stick the tip of the pick in the hole and you can adjust them
