He's following Section 6, Paragraph 3a of the Aviator's Code, which states, "Better to die than to sound scared."
Sounds so upbeat for flying through an emergency, well done!
Great job pilot!!!
Kiss!
14 360s? Did they fly in at 7000’?
so why cut the mixture?
If the engine is surging and you can’t control power output you won’t be able to make a safe landing. Power off 180 is a commonly practiced and pretty easy way to land.
Likely had a broken throttle cable or it came loose off the mount, in either case it would be like trying to park a car with the gas stuck at 3/4 pedal to the floor. Cutting the mixture kills the engine so you can actually land the sucker :)
@AnonyMous-jf4lc but it wasn't surging. He said his rpm was at 2100. while 2100 can't get you much power it's still something. I am sure he had a reason.
@nickm764 no he was getting 2100 rpm. it doesn't sound like it was stuck at high power.
@@ahmadsamadzai8255regardless, they couldn’t change it, and it wouldn’t be fun screaming in low and fast at 2100 RPM, especially when power-off 180s are already on the menu and well practiced (by comparison).
