FYI Kibs, the Office zoning counts as Industrial for the purposes of demand, so you can technically have a pure-walking city with no cars at all, if you zone for Residential/Commercial/Office and no Industrial. =^x^=

Hey kibs if you want to stop your city from having those random fires you need a fire helicopter depot and maybe a fire watch tower or two.

By 2:58 you’ve described and thought out how Manhattan (the island you’re building on) basically works. When you exit the Midtown Tunnel, the Queensborough Bridge, the Brooklyn Bridge, etc. you’re led (by road) into the center of the island, and there are major arteries on either side to help you get back in the opposite direction.
As a lifelong NYC resident watching this, you’re both proving (right now, at least) that our street-based system is pretty intuitive, while also showing how strong of a player you’ve become the more you play, and how the game effectively teaches collective human behavior.
This is coming along really well. Loving this series more than most, and not just because it’s based on my city. Your skill really, really shines here.

Please make the point area at the end have all the tall skyscrapers, it would look so cool. You can also use the new skyscrapers content pack for it.

Couldn’t stop myself from binging this series at 4am (currently)
while blue light protection glasses can help reduce eye strain. what also helps is if you switch your computer or mobile device to night mode in the settings to cut back on blue light.
An Airport island might be a cool project to add to the city
Also I think the policy that encourages biking/walking can help with the traffic
(that might be whats stopping the fire engines 🚒 getting to the fires quickly)
Love the addition of the pedestrian path to the area by the sea
Kibz I need you to understand, you don’t NEED roads. The walking paths work just fine as long as you have public transit.

All your sims walking around in your walkable city are getting a dose of blue light about 1000x more than you get from a screen. The sun emits a lot of blue light as part of the full spectrum it bursts out.
The sponsorship is bullshit but it keeps the lights on and the bills paid for Kibitz, so... eh.

19:30 That pedestrian bridge seems a little steep on the water side. Perhaps run it parallel to the quay wall for a bit before bringing it 90 degrees to the road. Reduce the slope.

A perfect example that proves a point. As bad as your traffic is, it could've been so much worse if you hadn't added in all those pedestrian paths and tram lines to take a lot of cars off of the road! Like what you were going for here!

I dont remember the exact name of it, but theres a mod in the workshop that introduces leveled key stairs for the pedestrian pathways, theyre neat and pretty and very practical, replacing those two pathways you showed at the end of the video witht those would be perfect

Hey kibs, the main road should be called quay street and the waterfront should be called harbour quay or crystal quay.
You could make the pedestrian bridges, that go from the waterfront to the top, make some sort of loop to make it look a bit more natural and coherent

Sorry, I missed it. What ruins your city? I know the meteoroids aren't healthy, but that was for fun. Unless I misunderstood, the title implied that a certain way of doing things ruins your cities. But everything I saw in your city was making it better.

Honestly i found a way to make a grid for high residence, max upgraded, packed into the size of half a plot, and not get gridlock. Well only a bit but cars still move
It doesn't stop burning because wall to wall buildings have much faster fire spreading IIRC.
I wish the keywall system let you use the walls with stairs to a lower section and attach a path to the bottom section of it. That would solve your issue.
You should make the island a stadium or a university campus

you add in a pedestrian road. One which cars cannot go onto. And instead of connecting the connection walkway to it, you go OVER it. Connecting it to a road.

Pretty sure when I was in japan I was walking on an elevated walkway that would go up a hill, and then over a street on that hill
Though unlike in the game there's also elevators and escalators too
