I’m 100% gonna be a loser and summon for Emblem Sigurd just so I can arguably waste all the potential I could have with his ring effect by applying it to my Cynthia, just so I can run Canto without the effect being on her B slot so now I can maybe find a better B skill. Cause screw the characters the game wants me to use, I’m using Cynthia instead.
I’m gonna get one copy for the Emblem effect (maybe slap it on Marni), and then I’ll get one extra copy to fodder that new B-skill onto my Silas. I agree with “Summon shiny new unit so I can slap effects onto rusty but beloved old units” idea.

He’s had so many opportunities (Ninja alt based on his potential friendship with Kaze, any Duo opportunity with either Corrin since they’re SUPPOSED to be best friends, Summer Hoshido banner we had this year since he’s recruitable in all three routes, etc) but gets neglected. All I can do is build him up best I can. And honestly, it’s sad that Cynthia gets the same treatment too, while the other kids get alts.

For those who care, the ending of the current Forging Bonds goes into a little more detail as to how Emblems work in Askr. And Timerra’s A support leans heavily towards the possibility of getting the DLC Emblems as well.
I think Emblem Celica’s dialogue also confirms that she can eat again as well. But also I think that Forging Bonds was an excuse to open up their Emblem Hero possibilities so they don’t shut themselves in a corner.

I just got back into the game and I'm already reeling from the effects of powercreep. I felt pretty good about myself when I stopped playing; I had Ninja Lyn, I had empress Edelgard, et cetera- somewhat viable units I could take into my low tier aether raids and win most of my matches with. Come back a year or two later, find that the only viable unit I even have is the free Bernadetta I got from the CYL event and occasionally the Fjorn Nifl I got after 60 something pulls. (but only because she can create ice walls. Her combat stats aren't enough to save her from the New Felix.) I'm only at tier 6 in the Arena. What the heck? Seriously, the only reason I even play is because the casual content like Heroes Journey and Aether Resort are mildly fun and endearing, and collecting PNGs fun I guess. But at the same time, what happens when the free orbs run dry? What happens when I've seen all of the events? I don't even know. At this point I'm sustaining myself solely off the stupid challenge of maxing out four stars for funsies.
I love how they drop the "if the 9 tile nuke damages more than X units, you get galeforce" as if that is a test of skill. Makes me wonder if they are going to introduce evasion mechanics next month

Nah, it makes sense when you think about it. Unlike Marth's ring whose effect is both unconditional and insanely good in the right situation. Sigurd's ring can become a liability in the face of stall, and canto control which is already everywhere will limit the effectiveness as well. The true damage on Sigurd's ring is basically the only effect on it that can't be made near useless, while Marth's ring is already busted and instrumental to a lot of special set ups, so preventing it from being completely abused by brave hit setups (they still abuse it even with the penalty lol) makes sense.
I really like the banner solely for the reason that for the English TH-cam thumbnail it shows generic green armor unit and I thought we had finally gotten a generic as a legendary unit

I actually don't think Sigurd's ring is busted at all. Like the extra true damage seems unnecessary but hhen you realize that while Sigurd may be stals immune, the ring makes it's wielder a perfect stall target, and also canto control still exists and is still constantly run in the meta, so I think the true damage is fine because it's literally the only portion of the ring's effect that cannot be made useless or outright detrimental to the engaged unit. Sigurd is a monster of a unit tho.
so overpowered it is interesting to see what they come up with. But should you be spending money on the craziness to keep up with the power creep? That's up to you to decide

I quit this game around ike emblem this year yet I still try and see how the game keeps changing. after Celica, I still dont know how people put up with this BS and it got way worse with CyL and now Fjorm and this ring unit. it amazes me how when I think IS has gone balls to the wall still manages to surprise me every time with each new banner. every month we get the unit that counters last month's. keeping up is insane.
