Ultra Ethernet Consortium(UEC) take the Fight to Nvidia and Infiniband

During their latest Advancing Ai conference, ‪@AMD‬ announced their partnership with the UEC(Ultra Ethernet Consortium) to extend the Ethernet standard and create a new Ultra Ethernet Standard that will challenge Nvidia's Infiniband.
The new Standard is designed to be open source and creates an alternative to ‪@NVIDIA‬ and Infiniband's monopoly.
These types of connectors, like Infiniband, aren't your typical ethernet connectors. They are mean't to connect multiple server nodes together in order to treat the entire interconnected cluster as a single unified resource. Speed is critical here in order to facilitate the fast transfer of data across multiple nodes. UEC represents an open standard that isn't owned by any company and is an alternative to Nvidia's proprietary dominance.
