@@BeardedDanishViking Yes, better than ever. Since starting Light The Torch, he seems to be very happy performing and singing. In other performances he jumps around on stage just like he would in his late 20’s. Howard’s voice is still in his prime. He’s struggled in his KSE days but that’s not stopping him.
@@heelgill no, his live performance hasn't improved at all and he's definitely long past his prime, it's just time, there's nothing you can do about it. He's obviously struggling in this video, the bass player Ryan helps out with vocals quite a lot, if you haven't noticed it yet. The fact that Howard is happy doing music again is great, but it doesn't make his vocal performance better than it was in his KSE years. Even in those years a lot of his live performances weren't anything outstanding, compared to the recordings. Too much mic cupping, too much crowd singing, things haven't changed at all since then.
@@michaelmichaelson8861 I say otherwise, man. I still find his performances to be outstanding and fun to watch. It’s never, and I mean never a crime to have the crowd sing along because that’s what gets everyone going, nor is it a crime to cup the mic. Okay I’ll admit it, it can a bit meh for people listening to him singing from a far distance but he’s been doing it for years now so it’s like get over it, y’know? I’ve noticed people complain about that for sometime now but I’m sure they’ve gotten over it. If not, things haven’t changed at all since then. Just listen to the studio version. Judging your previous comments on this channel, you seem to enjoy being a critic, which is alright. But let me tell you this: Everyone’s different and enjoys things differently.

Best new band in at least 10 Years, this CD is a master piece, one of the best Howard works, I fucking love that he sings with melody an not just gutural. Since Apple Music, and Spotify, it´s very rare that I go out to a store to buy a CD, well, I can´t wait to have this CD in my hands.

Love this band and bought Revival when it was first released after hearing "Die Alone" on Liquid Metal. That said, I can't help but be a little bummed that they use lead vocal backing tracks; especially, when they don't need to, because Howard's got such a great voice. Listen to Die Alone when he's holding the mic out to the crowd during the first verse; you can hear the album's vocal track in the background. Why even do that? As a musician myself, do it live, or don't do it at all.

With all respect to people involved, imo, As Daylight Dies was the album that made KSE legendary. But, even without Howard frontmanning KSE today, KSE is holding that legendary torch steadily. Also, their The End of Heartache DVD imo, is still one of the best music DVD ever to hit metal

All these comments about how amazing Howard's voice is... don't get me wrong, he has a good voice and it's impressive for him to be able to hold up his voice like this especially with how old he is, but the fact of the matter is I can't stand the amounts of times you can also hear his voice dying. Partially from his age, and partially from the strain back when he wasn't properly taking care of his health issues on kse tours. You can hear several times in this concert how badly he is straining his voice on his high screams, it reminds me of the downfall of chad grey's voice from 2001-2009. I think about this and it's hard for me to imagine this man's voice lasting much longer with his high screams, I think he should tone it down and go easier on himself especially with the high screams before he comepletely blows out his voice! I'm seriously worried about this and I hope the best for howard and this band.
You're definitely right. It's strange for anyone who has ears to say that his voice is the best ever or in his prime, etc. It's clear as day that Howard's voice is deteriorating because of the use of extreme vocal techniques. I suppose he can still pull of decent cleans live but if he uses more of screaming, it will only get worse.

Howard has an amazing voice and I dig it for sure. But Jesse is a better fit for KSE. He's a much better screamer and Howard is a better singer.

What's up with the backing tracks? I dig Howard but this show is LAME... The band is playing to backing tracks and the bass player is pulling double vocal duties and actually doing pretty well... What the fuck is up with Howard not singing??? Seriously I thought maybe he was just sick at the LA Troubadour show cause they did the same thing... I will say the band sounds fucking killer though... but backing tracks?
Howard does that stuff all the time and has been doing it for ages - mic cupping, skipping a lot of lines letting the crowd or the bass player sing instead. That's not what "the best metalcore singer" should do.
Howard belongs back in killswitch I'm sorry but Jesse was great in the beginning but nowadays he needs to give it up he can't hold a candle too Howard but thats just my opinion Like and/or comment if you agree
