Going to a Spite show in May and I hope the pit is like this one, everyone seems so chill and having a good time. The Kublai Khan show the following week, I expect to get pulverized.

If you Google "St Vitus shutdown" there are 3 or 4 solid articles explaining it. It is basically the NYC department of buildings that closed it. Bad paperwork/permits etc. They just chose a sold-out Friday night gig to enforce it.

Been to events at Vitus many times. They have a habit of really crowding the venue to the point that you can barely move. Sucks that they got hit by the DOB, but can't say I'm terribly surprised. It's ironic that the shut down happened during a show with enough space on the floor for people to run around.

It was from a call from an angry neighbor and apparently the space wasn't up to code. Luckily the show finished at Century Bar, but that really sucked.

The title and thumbnail capitalize on the fact that it was 5 hardcore (or hardcore adjacent) bands show that got shutdown. No need to gatekeep the “category” so hard. Jesus…..half the comments on this channel are people getting butthurt that the band isn’t labeled properly.
