Hi folks, apprentice cameraman here....... Ian and I had a great outing..... We figured if we parked the cars along the treeline we would be sheltered from most of the heat of the day and it was a good call...... Its the first time Ian has been able to use somebody else to help with the filming and with some good editing on Ian's part I think it went ok..... At this point I should say that Linda often helps when Ian is at home doing reviews. The idea was to run the Bandhopper III along with the JCP12 and the Slidewinder. Ian had a practically zero noise floor on 40m and a pileup from when he started operating which was great. I intended to run with the new Powerstation psu on 40w with the TS-480 but there was a slight technical hitch with a lead I needed to use However, Ian loaned me his KX3 which worked great but I was limited to 5w and a contest was in full swing, so I did not have much of a chance. The slidewinder went up easily and just needed a slight adjustment to give me 1.1 swr across the band with an S1 noise floor. I thoughly enjoyed the overall experience and had a bit of fun on Ian's 40m when things quietened down a little.👴
Can you just stop enjoying yourself 🤪 after 3 weeks away I’m spending a few days catching up on the garden etc then I’m off out playing radio. Band conditions on 20 early this morning were very good, opening to the states and Canada - could hear but not work Mexico. That’s not a field it’s a race course. Happy days regards Mike

LOL Mike! Hopefully you will have as good a day as we had. Hopefully we will get Brian's station sorted this week and then try again!
