This is off the subject, sorry, but I wanted to respond to Snake in a cave (short). I remember at a TAG Cave In or SERA back in the 80's where they called a guy up on stage who had decided to help a snake out of a pit, but up top when he opened his pack to let the snake out his face was a little bit too close and it bit him on the nose causing it to swell up quite a bit, but he was all right it wasn't poisonous. I can't remember what prize they gave him, but he was quite embarrassed.

Oh wow! One of our friends who was visiting from Missouri was bitten by a copperhead in the bottom of a 182' pit here the day before the TAG Fall Cave In started just the other week. He was staying at our house and sent us a message saying he had been bitten in the face when he went to lie down in the bottom of the pit to take a photo looking back up. He went to Erlanger and spent the afternoon there, until they determined it was a dry bite and he was released. My husband Jason has also been bitten by a copperhead in our yard one evening abouot 8 years ago, but he stepped on it. It was a baby and he spent 3 days in the hospital and even was given the anitvenom. Gotta be careful around here for sure!

@@tag_caverOuch, glad they were both ok in the long run! I've seen a number of snakes in pits but no poisonous ones, nor have I or anyone with me on trips has been bit above or below ground. Copperhead bites account for more poisonous snake bites in the east than all other poisonous snakes combined, the camouflage well and remain motionless till you're on top of them.

Not a bad price for so many lumens! Price a headlight designed specifically for caving and you'll be spending much more.
