This comes at a perfect time as I a few days ago started testing ranger and got 3 builds going. I absolutely love the ranger and Healer druid specifically. Thanks for your work!
Absolutely love the concept of this video! Although I think that timestamp could be extremely benificial to rewatch part or jump places to places without missing out Thx for your work buddy
Very helpful video. I have a Soul Beast/Druid ranger that I never seem to get around to playing. You have nudged me toward dusting it off and pursuing the Untamed spec as well. T
Ranger was my first character and I have more hours playing it than all my other characters combined, but I stopped playing it about a year ago so I could try to learn a few other professions. I never got good at playing Untamed when it was first released, but I have played it a little bit recently and warmed up to the use of dual maces. I like the diversity of play styles that you can play with Ranger and the utility that it can provide.
For Open World you could actually get a lot more damage and boon uptime with a traitline and relic swap. I would swap Nature Magic for Marksmanship and go 2-2-2 and then bring Relic of the Midnight King. This allows you to stack up a lot of vulnerability, might, and fury really quickly by simply using your CC skills. Mainhand sword is incredible for this setup since its Ambush causes Daze. Having 3 leap skills for mobility is really nice too. I generally run Sword/Axe for damage and then any second weapon can be quite strong. Hammer for more damage, Maces for more sustain and CC, Spear for stealth, or even Axe with Mace or Warhorn for ranged damage and self support. Played this way the build maintains 25 Might and 25 Vulnerability while also having permanent Quickness and 100% crit cap, meaning it loses very little damage when played solo compared to played in a group. If you want to maintain your boons comfortably, I find you only need 20%-30% boon duration, meaning you could simply use a few Celestial gear pieces to reach it. With this setup you can actually reach 20k+ dps solo on champions and bounties and such while also being really survivable. For Janthir Wilds I actually recommend Mutate Conditions as it can completely remove all stacks of all conditions and provides a solid stunbreak. Offhand mace is also really good here since Mace 4 cleanses conditions and provides stability as well.
The power untamed ow build you describe is not exactly the same as your link to snowcrow. Do you have a video/link for more info or options on this build ?
Holy crap the last build is exactly what I needed to carry me through the open world, but what stats should I use? Ranger turned out to be a profession with surprising amount of depth, especially when compared to the base game power longbow ranger that I remember from the last time I played GW2 actively.
I main necro for heal scourge and reaper but now with the upcoming changes to heal scourge I started a ranger. Already got the heal druid geared up and now looking at a DPS build for the ranger. IF Anet goes through with the changes to transfusions then Ranger will be my main. Gotta get used to Ranger so this guide helps. Tnx!
One of the best profession, amazing healer , amazing pdps, pretty good cdps. Just untamed I tried fews times but I never managed to enjoy it, feel like pvp for me.
Thanx for the guide, its my first and favorite class. Thou i strugle a bit with fully anderstanding ambusch mechanic in Untamed and how is really funkcion. Meabe you can recomend some guide or something like that. 🐲🐣🐲
It’s competitive in comparison to other quick providers. I recommended power quickness untamed over the condi version, though. Power quick untamed does more damage, has much higher burst, and has more cc. It’s also more flexible with utility slots without sacrificing much dps. No real reason to play the condi version unless you just like it. You are melee either way.
Wait !!! The Mace/Mace + Axe/Axe Soulbeast is no longer viable ??? Gona try this one for sure (The Zerker Build) ! MM AA build is kinda fun but we will see.
Yes but there's some DPS loss with it. There are some builds that exist and it is better than nothing so if you're running axe torch and shortbow offhand you can swap to SB if you need to split. You won't get bench numbers but it's better than just standing there.
and here i thought i actually could play a ranger....range... ^^ feels weird to me. i fi wanna play a Legolas class, the actual class that makes sense seems not be valid? I know Ranger doesnt mean range, but to me the archetype i wanna play is the classical Woodsman, Ranger Bow type

As a ranger main getting back into the game, this is perfect. Love the video!
Glad you enjoyed :P

I actually like untamed quite a bit! I have a decent amount of hours logged myself.
still can't stop laughing for the fact that the almighty rangers most formidable pet for dps is.... a pig. Not a boar, a pig. 😂
They change pink moa
perfect, thank you very much you made my day and I presume you will be making my day at least 8 more times
Glad you enjoyed, and yes I am working on the other 8. :)

I wouldn't run celestial gear on a power build, probably better to swap in some diviner's pieces if you want boon duration.

Cant wait for the guardian
Question to the ranger mains, I’m currently thinking of gearing up condi quickness untamed. Is it still good? What are the pros and cons?

Which build should i use for max power/damage? High damage satisfying me, makes the game more fun. I want to be number 1-5 in arcdps add on 😂
Power soulbeast for sure! Opening burst is crazy
perfecttt time
Can you run short bow with condi dps Druid?

Best range class is virtuoso (mesmer) next would be either rifle engineer or deadeye (thief). Or just don't play the meta :)
did someone say druid? :PeepoArrive:
Your druid Playlist is in the description.
uh oh
a ranger with no good bow build make no sense :/
Small tip for watchers: Playback speed 1,5.
