Another video!? I certainly wasn't expecting this but another excellent one again as always! Interesting to see that 397 at the beginning with a blue front end! 156444 incidentally is one of very few overall rolling stock in the first version of the new Northern livery but I do like that version perhaps a bit better than the other one! The lowercase lettering is no longer on most of the units as the company that succeeded Arriva Rail North in the form of Northern Trains Limited were in favour of the new uppercase lettering. Shame that there wasn't at least one 221 Super Voyager in sight but I guess you can't win them all! Good catch of the one container train with the filthy 88 and yes it could do with a bit of a bath like some of the other trains featured here! The 158 seen towards the beginning of the film with the newer style of lights is one such to be a former ScotRail 158 and speaking of ScotRail, you forgot to add ScotRail in the description box! The sign in the station relating to LNER's Azumas is whenever they are on diversion here as they would have to switch from electric to diesel towards Newcastle! Funny how you almost got hit by the pigeons and lucky you didn't get a splat from them or you could have done with a bath! Talk about Scrappy Doo with puppy power, how about pigeons with Pigeon Power! They must have been watching Scooby and Scrappy Doo (not really!) That was certainly some pigeon power that they gave off there though! Here's a tip! Beware of charging pigeons in any of your upcoming station visits! 😂
There is - or used to be - a very nice glass wind-shelter on one of the platforms. Ideal for sitting and watching, without getting your 'bits' frozen off! I've not been there for about four years, though, so the station renovations might have removed the shelter.
Tornado hits the spot again. How does he manage to cross the country so quickly to bring us his excellent films? A mystery. But bring them he does for our delectation. Thank you good sir and merry Christmas 🤗🎄
The things I do for TH-cam haha ;) I love having the chance to travel around the country and get as much filming as possible done for everyone :) I hope you had a wonderful Christmas
Did anyone else see that sign that says LNER Azumas should switch to Diesel mode? Bit odd considering Carlisle is on the WCML and LNER Operates on the ECML
The Avanti West Coast Edinburgh-Euston services stop at Birmingham New Street and Birmingham International every 2 hours while the Glasgow-Euston services are more frequent and bypass Birmingham and call at Euston after Warrington Bank Quay. By the way the Class 88 hauling the Tesco freight has what looks like the NATO Emblem.
Nice to see a video from the "other" side for a change. It's been more than twenty years since I last visited Carlisle station for a bit of spotting, always enjoyed my time there. In those days you could see plenty of loco hauled trains with 47s, 86s, 87s and 90s and Mk 2 & 3 coaching stock. In my notebook I have details of a Euston bound service (14:47) comprising; a Mk 3 DVT (82112) set being pushed by 90011 which was also pulling five NEA vans. The date: 25/06/93. I'm guessing this was standard practice at the time, before the 325s, as I also saw 82119/86006 with the same formation on the 13:08 to Euston on a different visit, unfortunately I didn't record the date. The 397s are indeed a good looking piece of kit and the new TPE livery suits them well. Nice to see an "88". May I take this opportunity to wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year and to thank you for your efforts.
I still remember when I used to go to Leighton Buzzard during the 90's and can still fondly remember HSTs, 87, 86 and 90 hauled Intercity/Virgin Trains services thundering through the station along with Connex 319s and Network Southeast/Silverlink 321s along with a whole host of different freight trains. Really wish I had the chance to film it all. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and you have a great New Year
Is it just me or are signal failures a pretty regular occurence on Britains rail network? How and why do they occur so often? (Could they be reduced and thus services made more reliable from the infrastructure end?) And another question on that matter: Network Rail is the company owning and maintaining the infrastructure, i.e. the tracks and signals. But who is operating signals and points? Also Network Rail? Or one of the TOC's (per area)? Asking from Germany
@@srgntsylveon2919 Oi oi no need to get all aggressive over it lol, that's why I said "lol" after saying first cause I know no one cares I just felt like it

I think the pigeons in this instance wanted to get their 15 minutes of fame haha
I quite like the TransPennine Express Class 397 Civity Nova 2. I never been to Carlisle before but the station is amazing.

It would seem counter intuitive to remove a shelter from an open area of the station where the passengers would be more open to the elements
@@Tornado922 - Ah, but it could be to 'encourage' people to go into the cafe - and therefore spend more money, while they thaw out!

It's there incase they have to divert via the WCML, mainly due to engineering works.
Great video at Carlisle nice to see the 88 at the end
Thanks very much, it was great to get atleast one freight train making an appearance during my stay here

Avanti do offer a great service along the length of the WCML, I'm not to to sure about the emblem on the 88
Nice railway video again
Thanks very much

Are class 37s still active in the Carlisle area? I hope to see some when I go next month.
Nice video😀
Thanks very much :)
First lol, also any idea why TPE are only running Glasgow to Preston?
First of all, nobody cares that you were first, second, probably engineering work between Preston and Bolton

@@thatlonewolfguy2878 my bad
Signal failure at Wigan, so TPE terminated the service short at Preston and not either Manchester Piccadilly, Manchester Airport, or Liverpool Lime St
@@JackJackProductions Its been like this for a few months now though, surely it must be more than signal failure
your videos always crack me up mate especially the pigeon part :)
I think the pigeons made the video haha
