The reason why is because the six souls in omega flowey fight disobeyed him so the theory is: they obey asgore cause he is risking to fight back so the souls help him

It's a real shame we never got something like this in game. If Asgore had to die, he should have gotten his heroic moment like that. This is hands down one of the best Undertale animations ever made.

Alright, I remember that I was so into this series. Now that a lot of time has passed, I finally watched this. This is beautiful. The animation is so smooth and quick paced, but I love the ending. The ending is pretty sad, almost got me crying. I love this series, and I'm glad I could see it conclude. (Even though I'm late, lol)

When the health bar appears to be fully drained halfway into the vid, Asgore isn't dead. Due to having 40 billion HP and Chara doing 9,999,999,999 damage per hit, Asgore has a mere 4 HP left. Enough for him to use his final attack.

I remember finding your channel when this fight was still being worked on; The final product does not disappoint!! So many good moments, but personal favorite was the fact that the souls *DEFENDED* asgore initially. These are the kids goat dad murdered before, and they see Player/Chara as so truly horrific that they take it upon themselves to aid their *murderer* in defending life as we know it. Like, damn. Also, 14:35 is pretty freaking awesome as a last stand! I knew how this was going to end, but Asgore definitely gave it his all here! 10/10 animation King.

.........two things when flowey tells you to chill out you KNOW Its a problem Its like a crackhead telling another one "hey man I think thats enough f-for you" and Asgore how does it feel to be the one who fights for the sake of the kingdom..or avenge given the circumstances. Finally the ending was absolutely beautiful it helped me have a 4 years pent up surge of both tears of sadness and Joy.
Such an amazing bossfight. I always wanted Asgore fighting in genocide route, and you made it 100x better than I expected. The bullet patterns are almost impossible. and the music. THE MUSIC!. It was so epic! So epic that it is way beyond Undertale standards. That's how I got into Touhou and that was the first time I've heard something way better than songs I used to love. Thank you for introducing me into that great franchise. I’ve seen many Touhou references, but this one is the one which completely changed my fate forever. It’s been 8 months and I still have a lot to discover!

Even normal undertale patterns are harder than they look if you compare them to touhou, since the hitbox is way bigger and the movement slower, and no bombs as well. The only thing that really makes it easier is the fact you have a health bar and healing items, if it weren't for those undertale would be hard as hell, i say that as someone who 1cc'd more than half of the windows touhou games

This was exceptional and positively beyond breathtaking.. I was emotionally grasped from the onset of the souls' defence. The music was right, well timed to fit sequences too. It was beyond overpowering of the senses to watch.. Moved me a few times, to be honest

the music for the asgore fight surprisingly fits so well, lots of tension; would've liked to see the background of one part of the fight start to crumble.
I would love to see someone do voice acting for this fight, would be pretty cool. Or for someone to do a vocal cover of this song. Undertale DDD The Musical anyone? :)
Playing "Touhou - Border of Life" as the fight theme is a nice touch to what it means. One last chance to defend what you believe it is the greater good

@@RadicalUnderstanding I don't think you know the definition of defeat. You can defeat opponents in ways without fighting them, as was done in the true pacifist ending where the player helped the monster souls within Asriel and eventually Asriel themself.

Just because the opponent may not of lost their king, or maybe any pieces at all, you still win the game because the opponent gave up. Thus, you win the game and defeat the opponent, despite the opponent not taking any sort of tangible damage. Same thing applies to this situation here. We may not have done any damage to Asriel, but since they gave up during the battle, we won. You may have noticed that I didn't talk about doing damage in my comment because, in this case, dealing damage is irrelevant, as the opponent wasn't defeated through typical battle.

I remember finding your channel when this fight was still being worked on; The final product does not disappoint!! So many good moments, but personal favorite was the fact that the souls *DEFENDED* asgore initially. These are the kids goat dad murdered before, and they see Player/Chara as so truly horrific that they take it upon themselves to aid their *murderer* in defending life as we know it. Like, damn. Also, 14:35 is pretty freaking awesome as a last stand! I knew how this was going to end, but Asgore definitely gave it his all here! 10/10 animation King.

Such an amazing bossfight. I always wanted Asgore fighting in genocide route, and you made it 100x better than I expected. The bullet patterns are almost impossible. and the music. THE MUSIC!. It was so epic! So epic that it is way beyond Undertale standards. That's how I got into Touhou and that was the first time I've heard something way better than songs I used to love. Thank you for introducing me into that great franchise. I’ve seen many Touhou references, but this one is the one which completely changed my fate forever. This battle alone looks like something that you'd face in Lunatic mode, or even a Lunatic+ mode.
Even normal undertale patterns are harder than they look if you compare them to touhou, since the hitbox is way bigger and the movement slower, and no bombs as well. The only thing that really makes it easier is the fact you have a health bar and healing items, if it weren't for those undertale would be hard as hell, i say that as someone who 1cc'd more than half of the windows touhou games

@@RadicalUnderstanding I don't think you know the definition of defeat. You can defeat opponents in ways without fighting them, as was done in the true pacifist ending where the player helped the monster souls within Asriel and eventually Asriel themself.

Just because the opponent may not of lost their king, or maybe any pieces at all, you still win the game because the opponent gave up. Thus, you win the game and defeat the opponent, despite the opponent not taking any sort of tangible damage. Same thing applies to this situation here. We may not have done any damage to Asriel, but since they gave up during the battle, we won. You may have noticed that I didn't talk about doing damage in my comment because, in this case, dealing damage is irrelevant, as the opponent wasn't defeated through typical battle.
