      Within the first 10 minutes, I thought to myself,'there is no way this movie will not be good'. I was right. I was just flipping through my laptop and came across this movie, and without thinking, I pressed play. Almost as if I already knew it was going to be good. Beautiful actors, empathic characters, peaceful scenery that helped me focus on what was truly important about the movie.

    Sad story for Paris. Though if he didn’t die in 2022, he never would have “runaway” from Celeste in 2003. Celeste never would have gotten with Daniel. Ellie wouldn’t have felt unwelcomed and runaway to Claire’s. Anna would have never followed her,(the second time) never would have gotten lost in the portal, and never would have grown up in 1952 in order to give birth to Paris. Well at least Paris got peace with the fact that he saved his mother and finally understood what happened to her.

    Not sure if you've seen the Netflix series Dark but that's also a mystery thriller about a missing persons case turned time travel conspiracy. I was reminded a lot of that show when the reveal happened and while I thought this was a decent film, I couldn't help but think that Dark did this concept much better and more effectively. I'd love to hear you do a breakdown of the series one day. It's so phenomenal.

    My only question is why there's no fuss in 1952 about Anna? I mean, I'm sure when she's finally woke up, she will asking for her parents and confused of the time period (the technology, fashion, etc) and finally realized she just traveled backwards in time. I can imagine it becomes a headline about "child from the future" in newspapers. Instead she seems just live her life normally as if she was born at that time
    But then again maybe the movie mentioned about this and I don't pay attention

    • @farzanm8253
      @farzanm8253 10 วันที่ผ่านมา +7

      I totally agree with your point! At first, I thought Anna had traveled from 1952 to 2022, but it was actually the opposite. An 8-year-old child wouldn't ask, 'What am I doing here?' As you said, she would have either been in the newspapers or in a mental hospital because people wouldn't have believed her story.

      @farzanm8253 my personal theory is that everyone in 1952 maybe thought she was delirious from her injury, or just a traumatized child playing make believe. And I noticed in the pictures ellie looked at, Anna looked happier as the years went on. So I suppose she eventually adjusted, or maybe even convinced herself she was imagining the time jump. I could be wrong though!

  • @ht6390
    @ht6390 9 วันที่ผ่านมา +6

    One thing I was confused about was, what happened to Anna when Ellie found her the first time? One scene Ellie was steering the boat back with Anna on it, next scene she's walking into the house (without Anna) and reliving the fight she had with her mom. Can anyone explain?

    • @ImJMBRICE
      @ImJMBRICE 20 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      So here’s my best explanation. I’m pretty sure they explain early in the movie once Anna goes missing that this is the second time she went to go follow Ellie onto the lake. When Ellie finds her for the first time, I believe this is from that first time she followed her as she’s much more upset then she should’ve been, and when she gets back to the house with her it’s pretty obvious because their fight was much more violent, and Ellie was apparently throwing plates at her mom which didn’t happen originally. And then Daniel warned her not to threaten her mom again which made it pretty clear because the fight originally wasn’t that bad or physical at all, she just stormed out after she was caught looking for her dad’s(Paris) death certificate. So I’m pretty sure she went through the time portal and went back in time to the first time she stormed out of the house, found Anna and brought her back and then was super confused with her mom because that fight was from the past, and then tried to get back to her original timeline as her Anna was still missing. Paris was the one who actually found the Anna who went missing from the start of the movie in 2022 and he brought her to 1952 to eventually become his mother. I did find it odd him leaving her there and having an eight-year-old from the future grow up in the 50s, but I guess he had to be born somehow! Pretty good movie overall!

      Paris is Ellie's father, and the sister Anne went back in time and became her grandmother who gave birth to her father Paris. Paris then met the mother and had baby Ellie. That lady in 2005 is her mother and the baby is actually her. They both wore yellow too. It's a pretty clever movie. Best movie I've seen since Godzilla Minus One.

    Doesn't it make you wonder though, how Anna moved on with her life now being in the 50s when she's 8. For example, if she was an adult when this happened, when she woke up in the hospital she definitely would've been thrown in a psych ward for trying to explain that she's not from this time. And how did she move on with her life? 8 years old with nobody in the 50s, she would've been put in an orphanage. The movie was great but this is blowing my mind to think about.

    A lot of people miss the fact that he knew he saved his mother he even tells his father on his deathbed. I'm going back. I already saved mom, I was wrong..... When he saved the girl he didn't look at her.But when he was in the hospital he saw the anna Bennett on the news cleary His mother with her necklace and recognized a young version of his mother because she would have had other pictures of herself.... He then realizes he saved his mom in 1952.... He just didn't realize he wasn't going to be able to get back.

    This movie was great! Usually, I'm not a fan of current movies because you know, "the message", but this movie was extremely enjoyable. This is what Hollywood should be about, creativity. I had chills watching this movie. People always complain about comic movies, sequels, lack of creativity, but then ignore movies that is creative. This movie is like the old days when writers didn't think we're too stupid to understand.

    I know that it seemed strange that Anna never seemed to tell anyone in 1952 that she came from 2002 but when Paris found her she was also knocked out (not only impaled by that piece of bark) maybe (like we see with Paris later) she might have also hit her head from the debris under the water and didn't remember anything after waking up in 1952. I am pretty sure a child with cable TV would mention only having a small black-and-white or new-color TV, lol. So I assumed that she had forgotten about everything before the age of eight. I do find it wild though that Paris' girlfriend raised his mother for a couple of years, lol.

Anna travels back to 1952 and lives out her normal life, birthing Paris, who will then be alive in 2005 to travel back to 1952 and save her, then Paris proceeds to die in 2022. Im not a fan of the ending. I thought many people will be missing judging by the travelers. And it would've been nice to see Elle see Old Anna. I like this film but i don't like it.
    I wish Paris reunited with his wife and daughter

      Then it would screw up all the timeline. You know the deal, you're not supposed to meet yourself or anyone else when you jump time. People are missing, they just scattered into different timelines. There was 4 times the area went dry since 1952.

    Too bad Anna wasn’t carrying a sports almanac on her when she got left in 52. Or better yet an iPhone…people would have thought she was an alien
