    In the video, I say I can't find the fuse and I still can't, unless underneath the voltage regulator of the engine.
    This is not a how-to or operating the machine. This is just an informational and helpful video.

    I run a 6” fan 80 watt on the left side of my qh12. It blows a lot of hot air out! I’ve boiled gasoline in the past, leading to “vapor lock” and stalling. This will certainly help. All 4 swing motor bolts were hand tight when I checked them. I will check the chassis/ frame bolts.
    Thanks for the info.

    When adding the inline fuses, how do I know what amp fuses to put in there?

    • @jetzombie
      @jetzombie  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Glad it helped. I went with what was the amp draw of the fans combined. Went with the wire gauge that can handle it. Then the fuse I went to the draw amp of the fan was 8-9 at start up and 7-8 amp normal amp draw, then just went with a 10 fuse.

    Nice video. I just purchased a FF12 which is the same machine as yours. Looks exactly the same. The dealer I bought it from had several on the lot. He had the qh12 but I wanted the orange and all the orange ones he had didn’t have the hydro filter. Some of the blue ones did but I wanted orange so I went with the FF12. This dealer pulls them in the shop and gets them running and what they called serviced. I was able to run it and load on my trailer. Got it home last night and removed the rear cover for better access to the engine as I had issues with the choke cable and throttle cable. That rear cover is a pain to remove and isn’t going back on till I get some hinges and mod it to open and close. I haven’t found any striped or loose bolts so far but still looking it over. My plans are to change the fluids.. mine has less than a hour on it and I wondering if I should go ahead and change the engine oil or let it get above a hour of use on it for the beak in period. I’ve read 3 to 5 hours but watching your video I’m wondering if I should just go ahead and change it.

    • @jetzombie
      @jetzombie  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Definitely, change the oil. If not, you'll risk blowing it up with what they have in it, it is just to break in the engine. Also, clean the carb bowl and jet too, the fuel I had in the machine was messy too. Also, another thing is get the spark plug out and replace it, mine only lasted about 6 hours before it crapped out and it was a torch(Chinese knock off of NGK BP6ES). The break in oil hour needs to only be in for about an hour to really set up everything. Don't be shock after a few oil changes that you'll see sparkles, mine didn't start going away until about my third oil change.

    Hi, I got mine new at an auction, beats shoveling. However, the 2nd day of digging a trench for a waterline out to my pastures the tracks kept coming off and I mean about a dozen times. I found some that are supposed to fit, but they only sent one so I’m waiting for the other one. However, I did put the track back on today and dug all day without either coming off. The (6) 18 mm cap screws that hold the house onto the base keep coming loose, gotta block the machine up so a person can get under it and tighten. No lock washers, no sign of loc- tight I noticed one laying on the ground, took me a while to find out where it came from, they were all almost completely out. Threads are wrecked so I’ll have to get some new ones. Big question for you is I need a new hydraulic hose. One for the boom ram. They use 1/4 hose, but I can’t find that type of fitting anywhere. The threads on the ram tube are a hair bigger than 1/4” pipe. The hose has the female end that screws onto the tube, but it also has a long tapered end with an o- ring that seals against the wall of the tube. Are you familiar with them or know what they are called?

    • @jetzombie
      @jetzombie  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think it is an 8mm hose with M14x1.5 threaded compression fittings for the thumb and the main line is hose/nipple on the excavator are 10mm M16x1.5 I haven't had to have the pleasure of the issue, but I would use a hose shop. I'm sorry that I don't have all the info on it, but FB has a lot of groups.

    Could you supply the hydraulic filter part number? The mineral oil is about condensation and volatility. Normal oils and fuels evaporate causing sensors to go off in the shipping docks. Replace the mineral oil asap its not intended for engines and heet inside an engine. I purchased at brothers equipment in matthews nc

      It all depends if your area has a flooded market. But, if not then depending on what you paid for and what you want for it is what sets the price.
      Like I paid 6200 for mine and they go for 7000 at my location.

    Do you still have the towable trencher? I bought a betstco trencher last year (your videos helped with that decision). I am thinking of selling it and picking up one of these now though. Wondering since you have or had both what you think of the mini X and if its an upgrade or not to the towable.

    • @jetzombie
      @jetzombie  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Josh, I sold the towable last year and really liked it, but I had to tow it everywhere :) Other than that it was a great machine. Now, onto the beast, I would say I like this more for the mobility. It has been a great teaching and learning tool, I've had a few issues, but nothing that couldn't be fixed and get me back and running. I wish I would have gotten this first for what I need it for.

    I am thinking of getting one, but I don't have a forklift and I don't have a truck and trailer. Do you know if the freight company offers to trailer it and deliver it to my house for an extra fee? I assume it is boxed up, would I need to unbox it and drive it off the trailer?
    Seeing your video makes me think these machines come in worse shape than I thought with all those loose and stripped bolts.

    • @jetzombie
      @jetzombie  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Most shipping companies will not bring it to the house unless you have a way of off loading (like a forklift) because of the trailer ramp load limit. The best way I can think of sense you do not have a truck or trailer setup, is to rent one from uhaul. It comes on a pallet that can be forked and moved around, but the shipping company might not let up drive it out of the trailer for safety and insurance purposes, they are tippy if your not use to it. I just had them hold it at the warehouse and loaded it on my trailer. I've talked with a few others that have purchased recently and there's came in better shape( mine was built on a Monday, I think) :) .

    • @DAS-Videos
      @DAS-Videos 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think you're right about them not letting me fork it out. Plus looking at videos, the slots where the forks need to go are on the long side of the pallet. I think they would put it long ways into the truck. And I'm not sure if standard forklift blades would be long enough. I would have to rent a truck and trailer to get it. Too bad it is such a hassle to receive them. Yes yours was probably put together on a Monday lol @@jetzombie

    I do have one comment to make, the cooling fan is 80watts, which is a bit more than 5 amps. (P=VxI). As I understand it, the charging circuit of a lot of B&S engines I've seen only delivers about 1-3 amps so running the fan continuously will discharge your battery. I don't know what the DC current output is on these motors. Have you been able to find that out? You may want to look at a fan with less draw.

    • @RunsWithScissors
      @RunsWithScissors 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I dug around and found that this engine has a 9amp charging circuit. Should be good for one fan at full throttle while still charging the battery.

    • @jetzombie
      @jetzombie  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have both fans running at half to full throttle with no loss of juice in the battery, but you never know.

    • @RunsWithScissors
      @RunsWithScissors 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      what is your volt meter showing as the voltage when you're running both fans at half throttle. If you're still above 13.2VDC the alternator output must be higher than 9amps. That would be a good thing! I'm not trying to be a butthead, just trying to figure out the machine since I just got one myself. I appreciate your answers very much. Thanks for posting the video. Very informative.

    • @jetzombie
      @jetzombie  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Haha, you're not a butthead. The only way we can learn about these machines is by asking for info that can help. Here is a video of 12.8 @2000 rpm. th-cam.com/users/shortsJGPBciRlf8E?si=lnHXMMSmwD5vtZNq

    • @RunsWithScissors
      @RunsWithScissors 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Okay, 12.8v isn't where you should be. 13.2v should be you're minimum. 14.7v should be your maximum. When designing electrics for automotive we are supposed to leave some headroom and not max out your circuits. Typically you should leave 25% headroom. So if a circuit can drive 10A, you don't want to pull more than 7.5 Amps. This is for reliability. These are in the standards such as the NFPA 1901 standard, from memory I think its 13.2.7.2 if you wanna look it up. I do this for a living. In-rush current excluded since you're allowed to spike over the maximum momentarily you don't want to run the drivers at maximum for any extended lengths of time. Other than that, I really like what you've done and thank you once again for putting the video together.
