Keep up the mini excavator videos! I just got the L12 at an auction in December. I’d like to see videos on zerks, changing fluids, early maintenance that should be done, how to be more efficient at operating, how to wrap a tarp around an outdoor stored unit, should I clip the corner on the tracks frame that rubs the track? How to store thumb, links to the best replacement parts. I imagine others will watch this content- these excavators almost require TH-cam to maintain and understand. Basic equipment maintenance is called for as most people getting these are probably newer to equipment maintenance
Thank you so much! I am adding quick disconnects to my Aux line and this is EXACTLY the information i needed. You explanation and guidance were both clear and helpful.
Just picked up our little digger last night!! Understanding you’re not monetized on YT yet (I bet it will come quickly for you!) as watchers we can ask the world but it all costs money. So, things I have noticed that would be cool to know more about - 1: hydraulic thumb install, 2: is it possible to add additional counterweight 3: hydro oil cooler 4: do wider or metal tracks make a difference in stability 5: overall track and hydro system maintenance, 6: my fuel fill is under the seat, any way to make it faster to fuel up would be sweet.
@@woodsandroots3781 I just got a Hightop HT10BZ with extendable tracks. The wider tracks make a significant improvement in stability especially when working off the side like cleaning out ditches. I've never found a need to retract them again - I just leave them wide.
I bought a QH12. I had to remove the canopy so it would fit in my garage. A matter of just TWO INCHES! I've ordered the hydraulic thumb kit and cooling fans for the engine compartment.
Same. Canopy was just too tall and really didnt help in the tight areas I work, much less to tall to keep in any of my enclosed/covered spots. Candidly, they only marginally with ballast and if sun is directly overhead. Definitely not roll cage quality.
Hey man, love the content and have helped me out tremendously with working and maintaining my mini ex. But I have a QS12R, any chance you'll look into making a hydraulic cooler kit for it?
Hi awesome vid good information on Chinese excavators just one thing I have looked at groundhog excavators they are made in china yes but they have been upgraded hydraulics such as Parker pumps Easton drives but not sure about hose fittings please put out more mini excavator videos
Will do! Yes Groundhog does a great job at spec’ing there machines with top quality parts. Definitely fills the gap between really poor quality machines and high dollar domestic ones
Please be aware that the Chinese do make FAKE Parker labeled pumps. Have you researched your part number? Does it match the Parker catalog? Good Luck, Be safe, these machines can hurt you in a 100 different ways.
You said the return line is 15L. Is that the nut rod that is connected to the return line on the tank? Male threaded part that the return line connects to?
Your videos are super helpful. I saw that you are offering full bolt on kits for the filter and hydraulic cooler. My issue is I had already bought the cooler and filter and now need to make those work.
Great video, Thank You! But... I just added a tranny cooler to my Rippa R319 and the Gates 18L fittings wouldn't fit on my machine. I added the cooler on the return line between the filter and the tank. The hose shop ended up cutting the Chinese fittings out of my old hose and reusing them in the new hoses for the cooler because they couldn't find any fittings that fit the Rippa filter housing or the hydraulic tank. I think they're supposed to be 18L fittings but for whatever reason, the Gates fittings are not compatible with the Chinese equipment (or at least my Rippa machine)..
My excavator has a Din 22mm-L for the pump feed and an Din 18mm-L for the system return. .... Are new o-rings available? My hydraulic store does not stock them and says they are $11 each, so they don't stock them.
Does anyone know if a M14x1.5 female to 1/4 jic fitting would fit on these cylinders. If I can find an adapter to fit on these cylinders I can use jic hose ends which I have easy access to.
@thegarageconnection I was looking to just covert the cylinder hoses themselves because I have access to jic fittings and the crimp machine but no metric fittings. Love your videos by the way. Just added fans to mine and a hydraulic cooler will be next.
Please do a video on the exact hydraulic thumb complete kit/everything you need and one on the hydraulic spin on filter assembly. Someone should be selling a complete plug and play kit by now😉😉😉😉
I don't own a mini excavator......yet.....but this is one extremely helpful video. Thank you for edumacating us. Greatly appreciated.

This is fantanstic. Learned more from this video about hydrulic fittings than anything else I have seen. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!

@@thegarageconnection Where did you source your quick connects and fittings? I am having trouble finding them. Thanks for help.
What a teacher you are!
Great explanation of the fittings on these little excavators.
Glad it was helpful!
Dude! Bravo on the explanation of how to measure fittings!! I watch a lot of fellers on YT and you are doing vids right my man.
I 100% agree.
I appreciate that!

thank you much appreciated for your expertise
You are very welcome
thank you!
Can you recommend a gage kit to check pressure. Thanks for all your videos . Waiting for a youtop 1.5 mini ex
question i just bought an h12 used and i cant find info on motor and hyd oil capacities would you possibly know thanks in advance
Do you know the size/thread of the zerk grease fittings? I will try seeing what wrench it fits in best, I have a broken one I have to replace.
It is M8x1.

Can a hose builder use standard dies to crimp on metric fittings if I provide them?
Yes I believe they can

They could have used 18S DIN Heavy but I doubt they’d go that route on a return hose

Many people choose to adapt to JIC fittings, but most of the attachments you can buy for these already have the correct -8L DIN hose ends on them
@thegarageconnection I was looking to just covert the cylinder hoses themselves because I have access to jic fittings and the crimp machine but no metric fittings. Love your videos by the way. Just added fans to mine and a hydraulic cooler will be next.
All the fitting on mini is metric. I go to hydraulic shop and get the fitting.

I’ve been toying around with making a kit for sale. Retro fit it to any machine
Kits available now!
M16 tko fitting I am having problem finding
Shoot me an email centraldiggersupply@icloud.com
i usualy measure bottom of the hole
They make 13 and 15 met wrenches
But they don’t make 13 and 15 mm hydraulic fittings
