I obtained this product because of this video. I followed the instructions exactly as demonstrated. The result is a perfect restoration without any complications. A better replacement could not exist; even the color does not put the other seats to shame, but is an excellent match despite 14 years of use. I am more than satisfied with my purchase.
Thank you so much for your feedback! It really means a lot to us, very glad our videos helped out with the install. If at all possible please send us your before and after pictures of your seats to sales@theseatshop.com so that we can share and others can see. Either way, we thank you again for your comment and feedback!
IMPORTANT: There is another 7mm screw right next to the Round Knob. Once you pry the Round Knob off you also need to remove the 7mm screw right next to it. Not sure why it's not shown in this video.. I'm guessing they practiced before filming and forgot to put it back on before they shot this video. I just replaced my front two seat bottoms on my 2005 Expedition Eddie Bauer and there was a 7mm screw on both sides right next to the Round Knob which is only visible once you pry the Round Knob off. I actually broke the tab/hole on the side trim piece on the first seat I did because I wasn't looking for another screw. Hope this helps someone avoid the same mistake. The rest of the video was extremely helpful! The seat covers were an exact color match, despite my Expedition being 17 years old, and the quality was EXCELLENT. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND these seat covers!
I purchased the driver side bottom & Durafoam for my ‘05 Expidition. It’s exactly the same as the one on the “how to “ video. I’m glad they posted this video because it made it for an easy decision to purchase the items. The springs cut thru the old foam. I recommend purchasing the foam if you have an older model. Looking forward to replacing the passenger side next.
Great help! I bought my seat cover from these guys and followed these instructions to the letter. There were only two problems that I worked around. 1. Ford wrapped the original two straps that Velcro together on the back of the seat in a felt. I just cut through it. 2. The original clip that holds the front of the seat cover to the bottom steel frame of the chair is different from the one that came in the replacement cover. I put epoxy in the clip in the new cover and left it to dry overnight. Hopefully this will hold the clip on the frame.
The cushion fit perfectly and the install video was a great help. I got a call to confirm I was getting the right cushion, which shows great attention to customer satisfaction. One item I would like to suggest is that the video to install this particular cushion was on TH-cam, but not referenced in the list of videos on the web site. It took me extra time to locate it and I think there is no reason why it should not be locatable via your site directly. I also missed the 7 mm screw behind the lumbar adjust knob and busted the side cover attach point.. I tried epoxying the little piece back, but it got busted off again when trying to reinstall the cover over the seat back tilt handle. However, not having that screw does not effect the seat.
A couple of points. 1. To remove the shield that has the power seat controls or manual controls, you need to unclip the front cover clip and there is a T20 torx screw that screws off. Once off, you can pull on the shield and get it off the seat. Instead of monkeying around with the screws you see him unscrewing at 2:45 from the shield, unclip the power connectors. On my Limited there are 2 power disconnects. 2. At the end it shows him clipping all the cushion clips to the seat. DO NOT clip the front one until you have the power/manual controls shield back in place. Otherwise you will not be able to put the T20 screw back in until you unclip the front clip.
Hi MidnTrickCallr, thanks for the comment, definitely some good suggestions, these are older videos which will have some minor techniques that have been modified but yes very good suggestions
@@dragonfirefunctionalfitnes7925 Once you remove the cover itself, you can remove the foam. The foam cushion is held in place thanks to the velcro on the cover, as well as the clips that attach to the seat frame. Remove the cover then you can remove the foam. Let us know if you have any questions.
Hey Thanks guys, I did this on my 2003 Explored EB. The only problem I encountered is now the seat belt light stays on, but no sounds ( thankfully ) I did reinstall the small metal washer on the rear right bolt to secure the ground, but lite is on. I'm not going to worry about it. Thanks again, saved me $300 USD
Well I just finished the install of the seat foam from them. Well the Velcro is of a different type than oem. Not sure of how long they will adhere. And the width is "fatter" so when I put my side cover on it's bulging and hard to put it on . When installed the 7mm screw , it was pushing so hard again the foam it cracked my cover. Now the lumbar knob is now rubbing HARD against the plastic cover when it never touched before. Oem is always best , But it's not available so I'm stuck!

Nice! Is it necessary to remove the seat from the floor bracket in order to replace the seat cover? If not, what difficulties is there when doing while the seat is in the vehicle? Thank you.
Hi and thanks for reaching out, we get this question a lot. Some people have done the installation with their seats in but honestly, it just makes the installation longer and very hard to tell if the clips are on there correctly. But to save you time and headaches removing the seats is just 4 bolts and if it's electrical a couple of plugs (maybe 4 minutes of actual time to remove your seat) removing your seats just makes the installation a lot easier.
I am ready to do this, however, what if the T-55 Torx bolts twist off?? I got under the unit and could not really find the seat bolts going through the body, ( gas tank, and 4x4, and tranny stuff in the way) to try and spray em down, with penetrating oil.
The leather cover is attached in two areas, one on the top side of the foam cushion and second underneath the seat frame. The foam cushion is sandwiched in-between the cover and the seat frame and is not adhered to anything other than the cover. Let us know if that answered your question.

thumbs down since your company specifically linked this video to a foam bottom replacement after somebody asked for the video. And this only shows the cover replacement
